The whole experience at The Arlington was wonderful (one exception). The rooms are very comfortable and the bed provided a great night's sleep. Before booking, be sure to take a look at the room options. If you have a specific request they'll try to accommodate you - in my case I asked to NOT stay in the Stan Lee room - not sure the comic designs on the wall would have been conducive to a relaxing stay. But the soothing forest walls of the Brothers Grimm room were lovely! The Bistro restaurant has a limited but excellent menu. And you're within walking distance of cool shops, restaurants and a fabulous bakery!  A great place for a get-away from the city.

Relaxing get-away

We have travelled a lot and the Arlington hotel was so refreshing. How nice to have a themed room! We loved it. The hotel was central very clean and the staff were lovely nothing was a big deal for them. We will be going back!  Yes we will be telling all our family and friends about this great little gem in a wonderful small town😊

Refreshing change

This hotel is very unique and well kept. Each room is themed and well kept. They over a continental breakfast from 6-9.  They have a library bar that serves dinner as well. Mackenzie works at the front desk and is super helpful. Ask her for the tour of the basement which is in its original al condition. A must see!!

We dined at Stillwater restaurant located very close to the hotel and the food was great - be sure to have the bruschetta!!

We stayed in the Leonard Cohen room on the second floor it has a record player with records.

Because the hotel is older the walls are thin but other then that this little hotel is a must see !!

Arlington hotel in Paris is a gem to experience !

We stayed overnight for a wedding in July , and about 6 months later the same receptionist told us that was her favourite room, I am guessing she didn’t recognize us from our previous visit.Both times there were issues with the HVAC system in the upper floors as it was boiling in the summer and freezing in the winter, we called to the lobby receptionist to complain and she would need to go to the basement to jiggle something, but not to worry as it usually did the trick.I think it did the opposite both times.the water was fine but it made it hard to get out of the shower as your teeth were chattering or it felt as if you were still wet, reaching for a towel was a new experience in pain as the towel’s were bought used from the Don jail,they scraped two layers of skin with every wipe! We ate breakfast There one of the mornings and the food was fine.



Free Brazilian with every stay!

My husband and I enjoyed our recent 2 nights stay. The hotel is historic at 160 years old, with themed rooms and modern amenities. We stayed at the Leonard Cohen room and it has a record player which we were able to use to listen to his old songs.
The room is clean and the bed is very comfortable.
The hotel is walking distance to different restaurants and stores, including a pharmacy. We had dinner on our first night at the Stillwaters restaurant which had a view of the river. The food was so good!  Our hotel stay was purchased through Wagjag and our package did not include breakfast  but the hotel provided us free continental breakfast. Much appreciated of course.  The staff were friendly and helpful especially McKenzie who always had a bright smile.  

Relaxing getaway

The charming Arlington is a dream for book lovers with it’s themed rooms and library bar. While the furniture may be rustic the massive suites with cozy fireplaces make it feel like a home away from home. The location was perfect, located near great shopping and fabulous dining. Try Jupiter for fine dining but in summer the waterfront patios should not be missed. The true highlight of the Arlington however was Mackenzie - known as Kenzie- who not only works the front desk but went above and beyond on service including offering a tour of the magnificent basement bar. She made our trip special. 

Book lovers dream

We visited the Arlington Hotel for a one night getaway package. It was a birthday getaway planned for my boyfriend. We stayed in the Sigmund Freud room which was a great corner room.  Had I just booked the hotel I would be giving a higher rating. We loved our  room but the getaway  package portion was a big disappointment. 
When we sat down to dinner at Edit we were informed the restaurant was being taken over by new owners and many of the appetizers (3/5) were not available. As well, 3 of the main courses were also unavailable. Because we had paid for the package (which included a 3 course meal and gratuity) we stayed.  My gnocchi was very mushy and overall it was not a great dining experience. Check out Stillwater or Juniper down the road as alternatives! Both lovely restaurants we visited for cocktails. 
The continental breakfast was also a bit disappointing. The hot water for the tea was barely warm and the fruit selection was disappointing. Toast, cereal, juice and yogurt were available.
We really feel that the hotel should have informed us at check in (or before) of the situation with the restaurant to give us the option of cancelling that portion. We did mention our disappointment at check out but the desk agent really didn’t seem concerned with our comments. 
We liked our room but we wouldn’t book the package again and feel that guest service could be improved.

Nice Hotel but Disappointing Getaway Package

The staff were friendly, engaged and helpful; a real delight. The food from the restaurant was very, very good. The room was a disappointment, we were put in the Stan Lee which was small, stuffy and hot. It was also behind the elevator so you heard every person get on and off and much of their conversations from early in the morning to late at night. The shower changed temperature from regular, to very hot to very cold and back during each 5 minute shower. Given that I had booked 3 months in advance I didn't think we'd end up in room that should be held for emergencies.

The staff & food were great. Room not so much.

I liked the hotel with the themed rooms. It's a neat idea but I was expecting the rooms to be a bit more immersive in the chosen theme.  The room was clean and quite quiet even though it faced a fairly busy street. The A/C unit was intermittently making odd noises so I turned it off.  The TV is a little obsolete and would not allow me to stream content from my phone. The beds were firm and comfortable. I thought it strange that there were no facial tissues at hand in the room. A nice to have would have been a kettle/coffee machine in the room. The buffet breakfast was Ok. Overall I enjoyed the room experience.

The same cannot be said about our dining experience at edit. In short, it was horrible and if it hadn't been my wife's birthday and my being fatigued from a full day of hiking I would have sent our meals back and walked out of the restaurant. I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered the steak. The steak was really chewy and tough. My salmon was way overcooked. The skin was the texture of cardboard. It came on a bed of chick peas with a creamy sauce which in turn was literally floating in a pool of some unspecified green slime. The presentation was extremely off-putting I am sorry to say. As I was quite hungry at the time I did my best to eat what I could. As I mentioned, the salmon was overcooked to the point of being dry. The green sauce essentially swallowed up the chick peas after my first couple of tastes. There was no indication what  the green sauce was derived from but I eventually figured out it was some kind of cilantro puree. Full disclosure, I am one of those people who really doesn't like cilantro and would not have ordered the salmon had the menu disclosed that ingredient.
The best part of the meal was the Ceasar salad we had for our appetizer. Also, the wait staff were very nice and attentive.

Underwhelming and indifferent

Really enjoyed our night! We stayed in the Agatha Christie room. Lady at desk on arrival was friendly and helpful. Our stay was on a Monday so the restaurant was not open( which we were aware of before booking) Continental breakfast was included and ticked all the boxes. We went to the Stillwater restaurant for dinner which was excellent. Get a reservation to sit up top for a beautiful view of the Grand River. We will return, very peaceful relaxing and friendly.
