Had an excellent stay in one of the newly rennovated cabins, although they are not large in size they are cosy and well equipped with everything youll need to make a slap up meal. A sunset beach walk is a must, our dog loved it!

A lovely stay

A real hidden gem. I stayed in the beautiful 1920s bnb, and it was a really unique place to spend a couple of days away. The place has loads of history that the owners like to share, and antique furniture that really adds to the aesthetic.

They provided lobster pots to cook our dinner, which we enjoyed with a glass of wine by the fire in the stunning gazebo. Bliss.

A great Acadian experience 

This beautiful locale is constantly being upgraded and offers a huge gazebo sufficient to fit 40+ people, a propane gas firepit, a wood fired firepit and lovely decor. Breakfast is NOT included if you stay outside the main house, but that space offers a full kitchen with pots and pans, two fridges, etc so you can make your own breakfast and eat it in the adjoining living room type area. The Tulip Room has a firm double bottom-single top bunk bed and a very soft double bed and lovely decor. Quiet and friendly, the host is a gem of information and very friendly. An excellent, quiet stay for a reasonable price, centrally located to town.

Excellent host, beautiful rooms, wonderful gazebo

We stayed in one of the cabins behind the main buildings.  It was very quiet and relaxing when we were there but also very basic for the price we paid.  Woodsy and rustic with no frills.  Furniture, linens etc. seemed to be "surplus".  The host was certainly very helpful.  They were just opening the cabins for the season and he made sure everything was working and in order.  In the high season, if all cabins were occupied and the camping spots all round were full, it would have far less appeal - perhaps a good place if a large group rented all the cabins and camping spots.

Average for the price

We attended this hotel in February 2017. When we first got to the hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We got our room without delay. We stayed in Suite 1.  This suite was a 1 bedroom, with a Futon in the main area of the room. There was also a bathroom with a bath and shower combination. The room was equipped with a full Kitchen. 

At first glance, the hotel seemed nice and clean, and overall it was. However, the bed sheets where FULL of hair. Human hair. You can tell that the sheets were clean (they smelled nice) however, the hair was disgusting. Both beds sheet's where like this. The Towels and face clothes where the same. The towels also had stains on them. 

We were lucky that we were there visiting family and they let us borrow some bed sheets and towels. As this didn't seem to be a one off (both beds were like this) we decided not to ask for replacement sheets from the hotel, and just put our family's bedding on the bed... When they came to clean our room, we thought they had replaced the towels in the bathroom as we had left them on the ground in the washroom. However, we noticed that the towels had just been re-folded and put back on the towel rack. We could tell as my wife's makeup towel was still full of makeup, and the stained bath towels had the same stains on them... That was a little disturbing...

The walls and floors to this hotel and paper thin. We were constantly woken up by people walking upstairs with squeaky floors (now given, this is an old building).

The fire alarm was not functional. We ended up going to buy one ourselves out of security...

We were disappointed overall.  We do suspect that the hotel was full because of the power outage in the area, and they may have been short staffed, but we won't be staying here again on our next visits. 

Cute hotel, but...

My family and I spent a weekend in Caraquet, nb visiting family and exploring our roots. We booked 2 nights with Dugas in two of their cottages. The price was 119 per night and the cottaged were rather small, but we managed. My issue is that the second evening we were there, after spending the day at the Acadian Village (5 stars for them), we sat down to have a glass of wine. When i reached up to get the glasses from the cabinet, I was greeted by a mason jar of sugar full of ants. I immediately threw the bottle outside and called the front desk. As I was speaking with the clerk, I saw a swarm of ants scattering in the cabinet, so I began killing them with a tissue. What really angered me was not so much the ants, but the response i got from the clerk when I told him about the situation. "Oh well that will have to wait until the morning before I could get the exterminator ". I told him I was killing ants as we spoke and asked if he had any raid or anything at all to kill them with.  "Oh no we wouldn't have anything like that. I will call someone in the morning." Did not offer once to come to our cabin and help to kill the ants still remaining in the cottage. When I brought it up again when we checked out, he said there was nothing he could have done. I said you could have at least offered to come and help us. He made no apologies and offered no compensation for our inconvenience. Will not be returning to that accommodation again. Very disappointed.

Unsatisfied with customer service

We reserved a room on booking.com, specifying two adults and two children. Both the desk clerk and the manager insisted that we were required to pay an additional fee of $20 per child. I argued that the $20 fee applied additional cots if needed and if available and not to children staying in the room. They said it was in the fine print in the French version only of the contract. I am perfectly bilingual, and explained the fine print to the manager in French. He then offered to refund the room charge if we vacated the room. We did and he did, leaving us to try to find a hotel room at supper time during the Festival Acadien de Caraquet. We did find a room, but this fellow very nearly ruined our vacation. Please don't support businesses that try to cheat families this way.
