Unfortunately, we were only here one night, welcomed and welcomed. The next morning, after a delicious and rich Arcadia breakfast, there was a loving feeling of Arcadia history. The rooms are very individually decorated with a lot of personal decoration. The bathroom was very generous, recently renovated and very clean.

Warm accommodation with history lessons

Denise's welcome immediately made us comfortable with her welcome cocktail. Our apartment, in addition to the bedroom and bathroom, included a small private living room. Fernand served us breakfast. We were able to share their joy of being grandparents.

Denise and Acadia

This place is very quiet, away from center city, yet near enough to go in town for dinner.
Our host made everything so that we would be confortable.
We enjoyed our balcony off our room to sip our wine.
Since we like picnicking, we could use their table and gazebo at the back of the house.
Breakfast was delicious along with our host entertaining us with stories about the Acadian culture.

Comfort and Great People

We came to meet our Acadian cousins, and were greeted by Denise who had prepared a welcome cocktail for our arrival. We felt like we were at home in the middle of our own as we witnessed the kindness and friendliness of Denise and Fernand. Breakfast is cozy and rich with stories told by Denise dressed in a period costume. The history of the Acadia declined by Denise is simply a good time to relax.

Meeting Acadia and Acadians

We stayed for two nights and learned a lot about the history of the Arkadier. Because every morning after the rich breakfast from 8:00 to 9:00 there is a costume performance by Denise, where she presents a piece of the Arkadier story to all the guests sitting around the table. As a preparation, this fits well with the Arkadier village that you can visit right next door - and you should! The rooms are clean and decorated with love for nipples. But you should keep the windows closed a lot because otherwise the street is clearly audible early. Denise and Frederic are a very warm-hearted couple with whom you're well stood up.

Arcadic warmth!

This charming B&B is a great way to experience Acadian history and culture when you stay in Caraquet. Denise & Fernand are the perfect hosts - friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to go out of their way to help you out. Denise even gives a "breakfast theatre" performance every morning - complete with costume - that highlights a part of Acadian culture. The decor is eclectic, but the rooms are spacious and comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. 

Charming Historical Experience

We hardly appreciate the negative nationalist and racist rhetoric, whether they come from Acadians or not, partial descendants of the Micmac or not! The hostess at breakfast imposed on us 30 minutes of tells which are just jokes meant to regret a falsified historical past that only serves to justify the inability to adapt to the world as it is. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast report was good. The house, despite being 150 years old, has nothing special. The hotness is very authoritarian, you have to remove your shoes, you have to sit back to listen to the briefing; it also asks for immediate withdrawal upon arrival and for the bank card to display an anti-ticket machine, which is a very badly remembered machine, which can be called a cancer machine and a very badly remembered machine, which can be used for 30 days.

Acadian woman abusive to displaced activism

We enjoyed staying with Denise and Fern, who are true ambassadors of New Brunswick and Acadian culture.  When locals asked where we were staying, they told us, "Oh, that is the best place in town," and we agree.  The location is a little bit out of town, but we like to walk and the cycle/walking path to town is right behind the house.  Very welcoming and down to earth hosts, room and breakfasts were great.  Denise is a New Brunswick treasure, stay here and you will find out why!

A Memorable Stay

This B&B is fabulous. From the time you first enter to the time you leave you are in a beautiful B&B and feel very much at home.  We stayed in the Writers room.   Very spacious and has a private balcony.  Learned so much about the area and Canada.  A definite place to stay

Caraquet 

The amenities and food here were great but the main reason to stay here is the amazing knowledge of Acadian history that you’ll get from chatting with your hostess Denise. Following an incredibly robust breakfast with lots of fresh berries and maple syrup and crepes etc., Denise disappeared briefly only to return in full reproduction Micmac garb, and gave us an amazing storytelling of Acadian history. I believe the phrase is, "racconteur." She is part of the group in town that does talks locally to keep the historical stories alive, and wow she tells a good story. She was also really good at reading facial expressions and would switch between English and French as necessary. She and her husband had a full house that morning, so I can’t guarantee you that if it is just two of you, that you will get such an amazing show! Her talk was one of the highlights of my two week trip.

It's located right beside a great walking/biking trail. It's about 6km from restaurants in town, so you can work off any meals that way. I was cycling, and they offered me a car ride in, so that's nice too. Great host and hostess!
