Top notch service! The place was exactly what I expected. Clean and stocked with everything you may need.
They picked up the garbage, bottles, cans and dirty towels just like stated. Clean towels and bedding provided as requested.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely stay again.

Top notch service

The best!! We just returned back from a week in Cavandish, PEI. We loved this cottage! Grounds are kept clean and impeccable! The cottage was a 2 bedroom and very clean and fully equipped for anything! The location could not be any better! It is centrally located from everything including restaurants and amusement parks as well as a grocery store with literally everything you need. We stayed in cabin 10 and the beds were comfy and thankfully, AC worked great! It was also great to have a swim in the pool and a quick dip in the hot tub.

Awesome Cottages!

Close to summer attractions during the summer months. Nothing is open in Oct for those traveling in the fall.
Cottages could use some work... front screen door wouldn't shut or latch... stove burners not working... coffee maker not working...bathroom door doesn't shut... general upkeep required. 
Staff refused to provide refund or partial compensation after we decided to cut our visit at this place short due to personal circumstances and gave the staff plenty of notice. 
And if you drive a pickup...its a 4 point turn to get parked...lol

Not a bad spot in general if you minuses the needles laying on the grass where I park my truck to enter my cottage (cottage 21). Luckily I found the  Syringe before my 3 or 1 year old did. The mice  Infestation I could deal with...NOT.  Scrap wood was the only thing holding my cottage together. I could have built a better living space with $1400.00 for real, looking back at the trip I should have done so. They say location is everything but in this that goes out the window 100%. Do your shelves a favor and book somewhere other than this dump. I've stayed in better road side motels..

WOW UNBELIEVABLE

I booked my reservation for two nights for July 9 and July 10. The cottage was clean, My husband and I both took separate baths using the whirlpool jets. He had no issue turning it off., but I did. It would not shut off. My husband did contact the main office and a gentleman did come down and tried to shut it off. The only way it was shut off was to kill the power off in the bedroom thus resulting in no power to the bedroom to the whirlpool jet motor. The next morning we felt we did receive what we had paid for and we’re not offered any discount or refund for our inconvenience. With these issues remaining we felt that we did not want to remain for a second night.The front door also was shabby and would not close all the way allowing flies to come in.

Issues with cottage

We have stayed at this location two years in a row and love it.   The owners are very friendly, they remembered us this year and ended up upgrading our cabin to keep us in the same location the whole week (as we had booked our time in two separate reservations due to a change in plans).   Both cottages that we have stayed in have been very nice with a kitchen, AC, and (important with kids) a clean bathtub.   I love the communal fire pits outside of the cabins - they are wonderful for getting to know your neighbors.   Last year we noticed that there was a bees nest in the ground on the playground on the property, and this year we noticed the owners roto-tilling the whole playground, presumably to avoid this issue.   The playground itself was great with the kids.   The pool does not open until mid-late June because of cold temperatures on the Island, so just an FYI if you are coming early in the season and want to use the pool, you might want to call them and check to see if it's open.   This wasn't an issue for us given that the waterpark next door was open.

If I had to quote any downside it's that we saw a few carpenter ants in our cabin - that said, we've had this issue in multiple properties that we've stayed in the Cavendish area (I think it's just a fact of life in the country) and as soon as we mentioned it to the owners they came out and sprayed for them.

Overall we were very happy and plan to return again next year!

Wonderful Vacation Spot

Hubby and I just returned from PEI from spending a mini vacation. I had booked this place to stay after viewing alot of places on line and avonlea cottages looked the most appealing, and we weren't disappointed.  Check in wasnt till 4, however we got there early cause of the ferry crossing from nova Scotia. Went into the office and was greeted by a very nice lady behind the desk. Told her I was very sorry for arriving early and she said that's ok your cottage is ready. Check in was very enjoyable and she offered us a park pass in case we wanted to go to the national parks.  Showed me where to go and we were across from the office.  Went into the cottage and we were both very impressed.  Had a full kitchen with all the essentials, bathroom was well stocked and very clean, bedroom had a king bed and double bed and was a nice size. Had a deck out back with a bbq. The weather was very hot and wasnt long turning on the ac which worked very well, thank God. Had a fire pit out front with 3 chairs. The pool was across from us and it was very refreshing after touring the island. It was kept very clean. The whole place was well maintained.  After the second day went to the office and asked bout getting clean towels and face clothes. She said to put them in the blue basket and put it on the back deck and they will be replaced with clean ones. Also got more coffee . They start u out with 2 packets and we were there for 4 days. The bbq lighter was dry and she also replaced this too. All with a smile on her face. Thanked me for returning the lighter. Before we left went to the office and asked if there was anything we were to do and the very nice man behind the desk said no. Told him I was going to give them a 5 star he gave me a very big smile and said thank you so much. Highly recommend this place. U are not far from anything. Mini mall just a short drive down the road, grocery store across the road, and a water park next door.

We came to Prince Edward Island in September when most of the attractions were closed.  We were able to get a night at the Avonlea Cottages. They were pretty and clean.  It was a great place to stay if you like to meet other travelers.  There is a shared fire pit.

Great place to stay

Two of us stayed in the bachelor cottage and it was perfect for us.  Great price for everything you could need while in Cavendish.  We stayed for three days and found it to be the perfect central location to everything we were going to see.  The owner was very friendly upon check in and check out. The cottages were clean and comfy. We stayed after labour day so the place was pretty quiet so that was nice. We would definitely stay here again, one of our favourite places to stay on our Maritimes trip.
