Our stay was good.  Our room was small but that was fine as we were out exploring.  The location is perfect to walk downtown and enjoy the sights and restaurants.  Our host was friendly and helpful.  Breakfast was good.  Would stay again.

Lovely stay

Our host Hanna made every effort to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Price was cheaper than most and our hot breakfast was included....what a great way to start the day! Met a lovely daughter and mother from Munich Germany and many fellow Canadians. 

Saw the musical with Alan Doyle "tell tale harbour" it was great and was lucky enough to meet him. For lobster go to water prince corner shop.

Stayed for four nights

Great location with an even greater staff... all of whom go out of their way to ensure their guests are not only content, but that they get a true “Bed and Breakfast” experience.  

Very highly recommended.  

Outstanding.

Colonial Charm Inn was the last place we stayed on our Nova Scotia/PEI vacation.  Saving the best for last clearly applies here. Our room was lovely and comfortable, beautifully decorated in period style.  Shelley, the innkeeper, is simply awesome.  She does everything possible to make your stay enjoyable from carrying your luggage upstairs to giving wonderful recommendations for restaurants and things to do.  I will be dreaming of her breakfasts for a long time - especially the blueberry pancakes and candied bacon!   We stayed 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. We had a jam packed schedule and if we go back I will schedule some porch sitting time.  Loved visiting with Shelley and family and other guests.

I still dream about Shelley's breakfasts!

We had a very enjoyable 3-night stay at the Colonial Charm Inn. We particularly appreciated the Innkeeper, Holly, providing great places to visit as well as outstanding restaurants in Charlottetown. Holly is vivacious and very friendly. The upstairs room was very clean and comfortable. Our breakfasts were excellent with the pancakes being the best! Again, this Inn is in a great location to explore Charlottetown and other nearby attractions on Prince Edward Island, Canada. 

Great Stay in Charlottetown, PEI

Stayed the inn for couple nights. Excellent location, only a short walk to downtown and waterfront. The inn was converted from a older house, so there are a bit of limitations in a certain way. Room that we got was a bit small. However, staff working there was very nice and helpful.

Wonderful Staff

Walk to Victoria Park, Government House, and all downtown attractions.  Great location.  Homemade sweets available most days - get them while they’re fresh.  Breakfast was average, but met the need with eggs, meat, a bread, and fruit each day, after yogurt.  Coffee was good, and there is a nice selection of tea, including de-caff, all day.  Room 3 (Hannah Faith) had a queen bed, 2 bedside tables, and another table with 2 chairs. Ample closet space.  Shower was tight for even a small woman, but that is part of the adventure!  Most (but not all) of the staff is friendly and helpful.  Yes, the B&B is under new management but I would still recommend it.  Room 3 is right above the kitchen & B&B laundry, so if you’re noise-sensitive, bring ear plugs or white noise.  Restaurant My Plum, My Duck and lunch grab-n-go Stir It Up are really close.   Neighborhood market Brighton Clover Farm , also nearby, has produce, groceries and essentials.

Great location, Room well appointed, breakfast was OK

Our host Caterina was lovely and made us feel very welcome.  The location is perfectly situated for access to all the downtown amenities.  Our room is quaint  but the bed slopes at an angle making for what will be an uncomfortable night.  no matter though because sleeping ain’t likely to happen with the noisy neighbours next door!  Sneezing, sniffing, snoring, showering at midnight, they might as well be sharing our room...I agree with a former review, the walls are so thin I feel I’m staying in a boarding house not a B&B costing over $100 for the night!
Shame really because it’s a lovely place with nice staff but if one doesn’t get a good night sleep because of noise then nothing else really matters.

Noisy

Read the reviews, had stayed at another bnb in PEI, and was super excited to try this place. The room was great, exceptionally clean, and location was perfect. The disappointment came in the morning for breakfast. 
Regular yogurt served in a glass, a single egg scrambled, pale sausages, slice of cantaloupe, and toasted, dry English muffins. Nothing was homemade. The coffee was luke warm and awful, the jams were the packages you get at a diner, and the three i opened were all dried out, hard, and unspreadable. 
I would never serve food like this in my own home to anyone! There was nothing special or memorable about the food except that it was very underwhelming and downright poor quality. It was mostly  packaged and processed foods served up... and dried up jam packages??

There was one young lady serving and cooking(?) that morning. She was nice and sweet enough but was obviously not qualified or suited for the job of entertaining and serving. It seemed very odd and unprofessional that she was wearing a long heavy coat the whole time while serving; dirty dishes were left on the tables when there were guests looking for a place to sit. Nobody in that dining room looked impressed that morning. 

Its under my impression that when people book bed and breakfast places, its generally expected that there will be a delicious homemade breakfast waiting for them- not a breakfast an 8 year old kid would make for his mom on mothers day. This place was a major disappointment in the breakfast department. Might as well stay someplace cheaper and get a better breakfast out on your own.

Sorely disappointed

This B&B was unfortunately very disappointing.  Recent reviewers have suggested that a change in ownership may be related to many recent reviews being much less favourable than those of a few years ago.   The home had obviously once been a lovely old house, and the staff were very friendly, but it is difficult to say anything much more positive than that.

There was almost no storage space for our clothes and suitcases in our room. Our queen bed was comfortable but very noisy whenever we moved. The bathroom appeared to be a repurposed closet and was one of the tiniest we have ever experienced, with the plumbing appearing to have been installed by an amateur.  The temperature for all of the second-floor rooms was controlled by a single thermostat in the hall.  (It was rather cool weather when we were there.  For hotter days, a portable a/c unit had been set up in our room and connected to the outside, again in a very amateurish way.) The breakfast was adequate, but hardly an inspiring start to the day.
