It was an awesome stay . Staff and owners are very helpful and friendly.they provide us wood free of cost and helped in bonfires.nice location. Clean room. Excellent customer service.highly recommended .

Wonderful experience

I had a business trip in Owen sound and stayed at this motel spur of there. It was a beautiful property with really good views. I really enjoyed my stay will be coming back next season with my family. The employees were very polite and even offered us some drinks.

Beautiful time spent

I stayed here with my family and it was a great experience. We enjoyed the campfires they have setup for the guests. They also gave us firewood free of charge land the staff was very kind. Not to mention the beautiful view in the back. I will definitely bring my family back next week.

awesome place great managment they treat us like a family very clean room great country side place to relax very nice view from rooms this place was referd by a friend they come here very often we will definitely come again too.

August long weekend we booked this hotel by chance on last moment as our original booking at another hotel was cancelled by those greedy people ad Diamond Motor Inn (refer my other review about them. 

I would say things happen for good. The Key motel was amazing place on countryside on highway 10. Rooms were decently clean and no complain. The owner family (i beleive they purchased the motel few months back) were also amazing hosts. Our 2 night stay was very comfortable. Also its location is best for going to blue mountain, Tobermory and very close to Inglis falls.      
And they have a very nice heated swimming pool and also has barbeque station.

The  problems:
Bathroom showers taps were very tricky and real fine tuning was required to get comfortable water temperature (room#12).
It was changing from very cold to very hot without getting mixed properly. 
Another issue no food. Nearest restaurents close quite early. 
But it was a superb stay.

Amazing and beautiful location

This motel is nice small town suprise.My room had a beautiful view of the pool and the Carolina forest. Next door is the OPP station so people tend to behave and obey the motel rules. It needs a bathroom update but for the price it was great

A nice suprise

We read the reviews for this motel and they said good things.  I was not impressed from the get go.  The Inn keeper was still in Pajama bottoms at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.  They must of been full as I ended up with an upstairs room.  My room had very old carpet and it was quite dingy.  I have learned since I travel so much, to always check the bedspread and the ribbing on the mattress by lifting the sheets.  My bedspread had many blood stains and an enormous urine stain on it ..very visible from the white underside.  Thankfully my mattress had no signs of infestation.  I was not comfortable in the room.  The owner changed the bed spread upon my request.  The heater in the room was excellent.  My partner was on the first floor and her room had newer floors and seemed a bit brighter.  When I turned down her bed I found a dead fly between the sheets and the bedspread.  Not sure how that happened to die there.    All the windows were very old and dirty throughout.  The pool was overfilled and an algae green.  The safety buoys were not attached to the walls.  We did not visit it up close so it may have been swimmable despite the neglected look from the rooms window.  There was no blow dryers and the centre of the first floor was quite junky with overflow of mattresses, cribs etc.   This is the second motel I have stayed in where the door to the room is not secure and cannot lock properly.

Tired

While the fluffy pillows were good to sleep on, there were terrible other things. The rooms are heated with a little window style AC heater which cannot heat up poorly insulated rooms when it is minus 11 C outside. Snow squalls forced my friends and I to take two rooms. All of us froze because the rooms were unheated to start with and could not warm up any more than 50F. We found out the next morning that both of us had taken the thin blanket and bedspread from the 2nd bed to try to warm up with. My thin fake velour blanket had blood stains on it. My friends had no water because the pipes were frozen. The attendant brought them a little portable heater to try to heat up the pipes, but to no avail. So, they had no water in Rm 5. Isn't this illegal? Be aware that when you sign in with your credit card, there is a security camera watching. Make sure you cover your credit card code when you enter it. This place is run by SE Asians who have made cheap repairs. It is run down and a depressing place. The first room given to me (Rm 11) had no light working in the entrance hall and the inside door bolt did not work. Avoid this place like the plague if you can.

Chatsworth Key Motel Nightmare

Do not go there. Something isn't right when you have to turn off the air conditioning to use a hairdryer. Tv didn't work. The floor stuck to my shoes when you walked. The shower was a joke. Shower head would spray the walls and you would be dry. What really did it for me is when I ran out of hot water after the wife took a quick shower . This place should be rented out by the hour or closed. 

Motel from hell.

The room was gross, bed sheets were stained with blood, feces and sperm.  We didn't notice until the morning and told the owner who laughed in our face.  After I posted a bad review he charged my credit card $150 blaming us for the blood stains.  This was a very nasty experience. The good reviews are either from their friends and family or from the previous owners.
