The room was very spacious and clean.  The bed was super comfy.   The bathroom actually had a 2-person jacuzzi.  For an older hotel, parts of it look dated but seem to be kept in good shape. 
Although short, my stay there went without any issues.   Staff were friendly.

The musty, moldy smell in the room was absolutely unbearable.  If we had some other place to stay for the night we would have left.  I would caution anyone to avoid staying at Laurie's due to air quality concerns.  Never again! 

Musty, moldy - air quality issues

Great quiet room, big and comfortable beds, refridgerator and cable tv, good for a stop along the Trail or as a wayfarer's hq for exploring the interior of Cape Breton. Right in the heart of the Acadian region, I definitely recommend this hotel. Great breakfast too!

Great location and breakfast

The rooms are very basic and the breakfast was ok.  The hotel was overpriced for what you get for your money but the entire Cheticamp region seemed to be very expensive.  It was ok for a 1 night stay. 

So-so hotel/motel and a little overpriced

Very impressed by this motel. Everything was very clean. very comfortable beds and pillows. We were very surprised that there was a buffet breakfast included with your room. So impressed we have already booked for next year. Thank you so much.

We had a great stay. Kids loved the place. Helpful staff. Loved the buffet breakfast. Large & clean rooms. Comfy beds. Close to all restaurants and walking distance to the Captain Zodiac whale Cruises. Will definitely sty again.

Everything was beyond expectations. Clean X-large rooms, friendly & helpful staff, fabulous breakfast. What more could you want.Right in the centre of Cheticamp. Great views. Will definitelystay again and recommend to friends & family.

Excellent place to stay

Made my reservation 2 months in advance for one night at this Inn. The reason being, is that me and two of my sisters were taking our elderly mother around the Cabot Trail for what is likely her last mini vacation. I asked for two rooms on the main level and next to each other as mom cannot do stairs at all (I have my request in writing.) Fast forward to October and we arrive around suppertime to check in. I approached the lady at the front desk and began the check in process. Sometime during the conversation I realized that she had put us on the top floor of the Inn. I told her that that wasn't what I had booked and that my mother couldn't climb the stairs. So she found one room for us on the main floor. When I asked her why we couldn't have two rooms together like I had reserved, her response was "well I can't put people out of their rooms." First of all, I didn't ask you to do that. I simply wanted what I had reserved!!!! I work front desk at an Inn and her overall attitude was poor to say the least. So my mother got a ground floor room and my sisters were upstairs. So we go to our room on the ground floor and open the door and there's a portable a/c unit, dismantled, on the floor in front of the window. Tried to put it in the window as I like it cool while I sleep, no can do. It doesn't fit properly in the window and why would I want to leave the window unlocked all night????? And don't get me started on the dead mosquitoes all over the windowsill. Anyhow, we went out to supper and came back and all of us sat in the main floor room for a while and chatted and made plans for the next day. When two of my sisters left to go upstairs to their room, (they had to go up the side stairs of the building) all the lights around the outside of the building were off! All I can say is why?????? What if someone had to go outside and fell? Are you looking to get sued? Overall there are other places to stay in Cheticamp where I'm sure guests are treated a little better and get the rooms they reserve. Once was enough at this place, for me.

I highly recommend NOT staying here

Overall not a bad place to stay, but nothing special either. The main lobby was closed after 6:00 pm which meant you had to unlock exterior doors to get in and out. We were given a metal key to unlock our room door, but it also unlocked the exterior doors so I wonder if it would also unlock other rooms. 

Breakfast was included, but the quality was not great even for a hotel.
