Rooms were dirty, tv didn’t work and was freezing cold. No one is ever at the front desk. Cleaning lady stole from the room and customer service was horrible. Would not stay here again. Breakfast isn’t anything special either

Terrible

We stayed here for two nights. We arrived here at about 3 pm and were attended to by a woman at the reception. She gave us the keys to our room and said very little. The air-conditioning was not working on that hot summer’s day. I went and told her about it. She replied that it would be set right the next day. (The next day came and went but the air-conditioner was still in its old state.)

The room being hot, we decided to go off and explore  a long line of “chainsawed” wooden sculptures on the  main road.  Later, as we were tired from the travel, we had a quick meal and returned to our room. I then tried to switch on the TV but there was no programme guide. I went back to ask the woman. She replied that they had no guides and I should search myself for the channel I wanted! Imagine that! 

The next day, we went for breakfast; "What do you want?" the waitress asked rudely. We were taken aback. She was not Canadian from her looks -- she was what some Canadians might politely call as “New Canadian”. I said we had come for breakfast to which she responded with an unrestrained wave of her hands that we should go to the right of the entrance. Most unfriendly!  Blatant rudeness! We were finally served with a grumpy face.  We wondered why such people bring their rude behaviours with them to their new lives in Canada.
 



Not an experience to remember by any means

Room was clean and lovely!  A bit dated but inna quaint and good way—very nice and comfortable:  arm chairs, spacious, restaurant on site.   I have 2 Great Pyrenees dogs—no problem!  Very friendly and welcoming and accommodating staff.  Free breakfast!  

Lovely Room!

The first "non smoking" room they put us in stunk like cigarettes. The next room they put us in seemed alright at first then we took a closer look. Dead bugs in the window sill, no screens either. Crumbs in the chair cushions, small blood stains on the sheets. Then a nasty bug crawled out from under the blanket and on to the pillow. We got out of there asap! It was 10pm, we were in there less than an hour. The front desk girl offered no apology and voided my credit card transaction. We carried on to Dawson Creek and got a room there. But, the next day, the manager charged my credit card for the full amount. When I questioned her about it, she insisted that the room was clean and I had to pay. Not impressed!!

DISGUSTING 

The rate they charged was more than what was on the website - they finally gave us the correct rate (actually a couple dollars less).  Cleanliness of the room - they did do a bit better the next day.  The outside of the drapes had ugly black marks, so they put in new drapes.  The bed was comfortable.  A big  breakfast is included with the room rate and it was very good.  Could hear dogs barking in other rooms sometimes.

December

I was a walk in customer after the hotel I was staying at had run out of rooms for the next night (this wasn't the fault of the other hotel, more so my own planning).  I walked in to the main lobby and spoke with a very friendly lady behind the desk. I explained that I wasn't sure how many days I was going to need a room.  She called the house cleaning staff immediately and she had me in a room at a very fair rate within 5 minutes.  When I got to the room my key wouldn't work and my hands were full of bags.  One of the staff ladies came to the rescue by letting me in and ran to get another key.  The room although itself was clean and comfortable.  the wifi signal was strong enough that I was able to do all of my work related tasks.  I slept well and while I planned on staying another night I left later the next afternoon.  
If you're looking for a brand new hotel with all new interiors, this probably isn't the place for you.  If you're looking for a comfortable, family run, friendly hotel, this is the perfect place and you won't be disappointed.   I'd recommend this place to others and thank everyone at the hotel for the help during my stay!
