Couldn’t fault the staff at this hotel at all, and the overall rating does NOT reflect them at all as they were brilliant. The rooms, although they look as though they have new beds/bedding need looked at as they are quite dated and do have a bit of an off smell when you walk in! When we arrived unfortunately there was a huge power-outage across Clearwater so was a struggle to sort the rooms etc! Black out blinds are something i would recommend for the owners as it’s so bright in the summer months! The breakfast included was lovely, nothing fancy but pastries, cereals and even a couple of hot options such as eggs & sausages is a great start to the day!
For a budget hotel it is great! just needs a slight face-lift in some areas

Great, budget hotel

We arrived late into Clearwater after paddling Murtle Lake for a few days (we were planning on camping but felt like we just needed a shower and a bed for the night). The front desk person was excellent and even upgraded our room from two queens to a king. The room felt very clean, but a bit dated. The continental breakfast was fine, nothing extraordinary but very fair. We asked for a later check out time and we were given an extra hour, no charge! 

The pool was a bit disappointing. The jacuzzi tub was quite cold and the sauna was out of order. The pool was a bit dirty. The bathroom in the pool area was quite unclean. 

Overall, a very nice stay with very friendly people. I just hope they can focus on the amenities at some point! 

Great stay of the night! Very friendly! 

We had a lodge right next to the lake, although pictures show three lodges, ours was one bedroom so half of the lodge (semi detached) the lodges further back looked newer outside (couldn’t see inside) than ours but we had the best view. Decided to cook in the evening as been for meals out for the last week, so got supplies in Clearwater as the approach road is really loose stones (glad ours was a 4 x 4) and took 25 minutes along it. we had everything needed to do the cooking and dishwasher tablets to clear up. You can use rowing boats and canoes free (includes life jackets)  
Breakfast was included at the restaurant, lovely chose and cooked fresh. The only thing I found odd it had shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and soap but no shower gel.
Watch out for the black bears around the park (early evening) great to see from a safe distance and had a skunk pass me coming back from the laundry room at dusk. Give that a wide berth as well.

Great views and lake for boating

We made it to Clearwater. The reception was very nice. The spacious room with a kitchenette. The swimming pool and spa very clean. A restaurant is on site, very nice staff, quick service. Breakfast in a soulless but decent dining room.

Stage

WOW! I am so glad I didn't review this place on Tripadvisor before we checked in or we probably wouldn't have.  Our room was clean, comfortable, attractive and reasonably priced.  The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired, including no decaf coffee, so we didn't partake.  Which turned out to be a plus as we continued on to Kamloops and discovered the Amsterdam Restaurant.

Everything a motel should be. . .

A big shout out to Cassandra at Clearwater Lodge who offered a late check out and a automotive part to be picked up from Kamloops after breaking down in Clearwater. So appreciated!
Hotel is newly renovated with clean rooms, busy restaurant and located right in the centre of Clearwater.

We paid $160 a night for a decent, very quiet room, but I don't think it's a good price knowing that a Best Western is just getting rated and will definitely get the same price for the best quality.

The value of quality

Rooms were clean and well taken care of, defiantly recommend. Staff was friendly and restaurant was really good. great stop along the way to Alberta or Sight seeing at Wells Grey. New hotel going right beside it as well.

Great Place!

This was our second time staying at the Clearwater Lodge, first time the heating was out for the entire hotel, but things can happen so I gave them the benefit of the doubt.  The second time Yesterday (Oct 01 2020) was our second stay, room was clean, but overpriced,  Hotel restaurant  is way overpriced and has very limited selection, even the staff recommend there are other eating establishments close by.  There was construction just outside our window at 6:45 am, guys putting up a ladder etc..  The advertised continental breakfast is a total joke, a couple of oranges  in the fridge and some granola bars, no coffee, juice, or anything else, clearly management doesn't care and neither should you . Avoid this place.

There are better places to stay in Clearwater, won't make that mistake again

Horrible experience. First, we got checked into a room that clearly had not been cleaned or actually still had someone staying in it. Then our key wouldn't work to open the door to the pool,so the desk person opened it for us. We were shocked to see cigarette butts and bandaides on the pool deck, and the doors to the outside were not even closed or locked. Needless to say, we did not use these facilities. The balconys are very close, so leaning forward, you can see the  ashtrays on the tables next to your room, hence the terrible smell in the whole room. The entire motel very much needs a good cleaning (the freezer was just one solid block of frost) and the bathroom desperatley needs to be updated. There are a lot of motels, that we were not aware of, just up the hill from this junction. Any one of them would have been better than this place. This was day 4 of our holidays, so not only the worst of places but also the most expensive (including Jasper and Banff !!!) I would never stay there again nor recommend it.
