Exterior electrical outlets for vehicles.
Snow cleared from sidewalk and parking lot.
Pleasant, helpful hostess (Kerry) and maintenance crew (Sandy).
Warm inviting room in -28°C ambient conditions.
Spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms with spacious counter space.
New bed, bathtub.
3 baseboard heaters worked very well.
Frig and coffee maker were wonderi.
Excellent wifi.
Did I mention it was warm? 
Best accommodations I experienced traveling from Toronto to Vancouver Island.

We were given a great rate.  The room was clean, the lady at the desk was very pleasant.  The sandwich shop across the street was closing but got everything out again and made sandwiches for us.  It was all we needed.  Aaaand the bed was comfy. Located on main highway.

Good Night's Sleep

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years.  Have always had  the pleasure of staying in the suites with balconies.  The main floor one has 2 chairs and a table on the balcony, which is a bonus.  The upper floor has no patio furniture at all.  The main floor suite has a large jacuzzi  for a pleasant soak.  The rooms are clean but showing signs of wear and tear.  The sinks were slow to drain and there was mold around one set of taps.........carpets worn looking.  All & all it was fine.  We stayed 2 nights each time this summer and because of Covid asked not to have any maid service  which worked out OK.  There are a lot of workers at this hotel but the parking is great.  I truly love the view from the balconies and the close proximity to some good eating establishments.  There is a central ice machine on the ground floor,  Staff are helpful and we will be returning again soon.

Always Enjoy The View From The Balcony Rooms

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have never been disappointed.  This stay was a last minute decision and after we booked the room found out the hotel was fully booked due to a rodeo nearby, but as normal, it was quiet and peaceful.  The rooms were clean, and spacious and the bed comfy.  Our only fault with the place is you can hear people walking overhead and along the walkway, but once you get used to that it is a peaceful sleep.  There were some guests who went outside a few times to smoke in their big diesel work truck and they seemed to forget that there were other guests in the Inn, but you get those at any place you stay. The Inn is easy to reach from the highway and has good parking.  My tip of the day is get a room upstairs at the end of the motel that is away from the office.  If you are unable to climb stairs, a room on the lower end of the Inn at the same place works just as well.

Comfortable and clean

We had been staying in Fernie until the night before I ran the Sinister 7 - 100 mile trail running race. I didn't need a room Satirday night since I had to run all day and all night. But Sunday evening I was ready for a really good night's sleep. This place didn't disappoint. It's meticulously clean, had a fridge and microwave, leather couch and a table and chairs for eating. The stunning views of the surrounding mountains are great. The location is central to many great Crowsnest Pass recreational opportunities. It's super clean, basic good value.

Post Sinister 7 recovery

This motel is adjacent to the highway, restaurants and service stations, so is in a good place for easy access.  For anyone who has trouble sleeping this would probably not be the place for you as the road is busy and can be  noisy.  With the motel being this busy you could also hear sounds from below and beside you.

We have stayed here many times and normally have no issues, but this time we had no heat.  We got the last room, so they were unable to transfer us elsewhere.  

We called the front desk and they came to check on the problem, and then they called maintenance, but in the end, nothing could be done.  The switch that runs the system was faulty and they did not have another on hand.  This was the first time heat had been needed this season and they had not yet checked the rooms to make sure the system worked.

We were supplied with a couple of heaters, which helped, but was also annoying as we had to keep getting up to turn them on and off throughout the night.

The carpets had been vacuumed but they are at that point where they need to be given a deep clean or have new carpets installed.
The room was the last one in the row on the top floor.  It had a private balcony facing the back of the motel and lots of windows, which meant there was lots of natural light. 

The queen bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice and soft.

We would probably stay here again if nothing else was available.


Room needs some TLC

Large room, but I found it quite noisy as you can hear the traffic and the people checking in - but once I turned on the noisy air conditioner, it drowned out that noise.
Nice TV and full cable; good selection of soaps and lotions.   Houskeeping apparently forgot to leave the correct cups for the coffee maker so I left early without a cup of coffee; bed was horrible and lumpy.   There was a "skid" mark on the chair by the desk.   I realize this is in-season, but I would suggest a rate of $60 not $115.

Highway Motel

I sent the following to the mayor of Crowsnest Pass County, the municipality that the Town of Coleman lies within.   Another reviewer in Sept. 2021 noted the same, and as yet unrectified, safety hazard.

"HOTEL SAFETY HAZARD"

Dear Mayor Painter:

Hello.  We stayed one night last week at the BCM Inn in Coleman, enroute BC.  The address is 8514 19 Ave, Coleman, AB T0K 0M0.  We had a nice stay except for one thing - my wife tripped and fell going up the stairs to the second level on the hotels central outside staircase.  She has mobility problems but does move carefully.  She bruised herself very badly.  The reason was that the one stair riser immediately before the mid-stair landing is exactly 1 1/2 inches higher than all the others.  When a climber is climbing with an even gait it causes an uneven tripping point for their toe.

I told the hotel staff.  They know about this safety hazard.  In fact, they put three small signs on the stairs saying "Watch Your Step".   A reviewer on Trip Advisor noted this hazard in Sept. 2021 (see review posted by Michael C. at Trip Advisor - Trip Hazard Review ).

This hazard has existed since the stairs were built long ago.  I'm sure others have taken falls because of it.  The stairs do not meet building codes.  They are unsafe.  The stairs never met safety codes and should not have been approved for use.

I really recommend you have the hotels' owner(s) fix this hazard as soon as possible. "

(FYI,  I included to the mayor a reference to the other reviewer's comments in Sept. 2021, and both pictures of the stairs and the large bruise on my wife's leg)

Stairs a Safety Hazard!

The outside stairs to the 2nd floor are NOT BUILT TO CODE and both my wife and I tripped on the stairs.  The top stair at the first landing is 2 inches higher than the rest of the stairs.  The room was very warm, cool outside, and the smallest air conditioner I have ever seen could not cool the room.  The sheets were so worn and should be tossed.  The pillows had stains on them that you could see through the threadbare pillow cases.  Did not sleep well at all so got up at 5:00AM and left.  I fell in the parking lot because there is a crack in the asphalt that is on average 3 to 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep that runs 200-300 ft along the front of the property.  A week later and I am still limping with a twisted ankle.  STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

If you are considering a place to send your guests for a wedding in the crows nest pass, I would strongly not recommend this one. The rooms are now non-smoking, however it is very evident that at one point the rooms were smoked in. There was a lingering cigarette smell in the room. We also felt we could not remove our shoes because the carpets were in bad condition. There was multiple stains, and clumps of hair floating around. I would expect a room to have normal wear and tear, but the state of our room was gross. There were areas that could have really used a wipe down. There were dirty finger/hand prints on the doors. The only thing that was acceptable about the room were the top sheets. The sheets were clean, and bed was comfortable, but that did not lead to a good sleep. The lingering cigarette smell was enough to keep us up through out the night. Please do not send your guests here, they will not sleep well.
