Hi There,

I chose this B&B, as it was close to the University I'm studying, but little did I know that I have chosen the best place to live. The scenic view from across the Suite, to the very helpful, cheerful couple Jan and Doug. I was very apprehensive and a little nervous as this was my first visit to Canada, new people, new place, everything was new from where I came. Jan and Doug really helped me out so much, from taking me around for grocery shopping, buying a laptop, buying a SIM Card, and even looking for a place for me to stay. Doug who studied from the same college as I, took me around the University and gave a first hand tour. Jan helped me really settle in, if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have even found a place. I was so humbled by their help, that for once I was hesitant to ask for more. Its very hard to find good people, and Jan and Doug showed me what good means, I can't thank them enough for the help that they provided. They invited me over for a barbecue dinner, and even cooked vegetarian since I'm one.

Thank you Jan and Doug, for everything :)

For people who are reading this, don't think twice, just book it already. You'll never find such amazing people in life.

Absolutely Incredible Stay!

We stayed here on our honeymoon. We love B&B's and have stayed at many. I would have to say Royal Roads IS THE BEST! Jan and Doug were wonderful hosts (and while poking around the Royal Roads university nearby, we ran into Doug, attending a fancy dinner in full uniform! ooo, fancy!) and the location, right on the water was beyond beautiful. But the best of all was to (so-called) room. It was more like a suite! A full kitchen, and a seperate bedroom, living room with fireplace with sweet water views??? You have the whole bottom floor to yourself so you feel totally comfortable and private. If you geo-cache, there are some great ones around! We fully intend to save up our pennies and come back out to BC!

AMAZING B&B

My first trip advisor review HAS to be this lovely B&B on the Esquimalt Lagoon about 20 min outside Victoria.  I'm often not a big B and B fan, (not an early riser, don't eat a big breakfast) which is why I really appreciated the less expensive option of 'no breakfast' at $125/nt. The arrangement of first floor B & B, with the hosts upstairs offered alot of privacy and is waterfront in the true sense of the word (with a canoe you can use!)  The location offers the best of both worlds, lots of truly fantastic walking trails in the castle grounds right next door, the wilder west coast trails on the ocean, and Victoria for a great dinner if you choose not to cook in ( the rooms include a full kitchen.)  As my title suggests, the couple running the B & B, Jan and Doug are just what you'd hope for: available if you want them to draw a map of the trails, or talk about the area, but unobtrusive if you want your privacy.  All in all the rooms were super clean,  very fuctional, and nicely decorated.  I wholeheartedly recommend the Royal Roads B & B.
