We got there and first and foremost the person working at the desk was incredibly creepy and took forever to even come out to help us.
Then hot tub wasn't working, ice machine room wouldn't let us in.
We called to advise this and the woman on the phone tried to argue with me about what the booking on MY app told me when I booked the hotel on MY phone where she wasn't involved remotely in. She advised she could refund us but knowing nowhere else was available for us to stay so we just stayed there.
Room was small but has necessities, room layout was horrible. Table crammed against the AC and the garbage bin placed so you couldn't open the fridge. The windows or door is not properly sealed so you can hear EVERY little thing including the rain as if it's inside the room with you.
HOWEVER - I have stayed in some four star hotels that don't even give you a fridge so it was a silver lining.
Additionally the room was very clean to be honest, despite the hotel and the other nonsense and false advisement we at least had a clean room which is more than I can say for some other hotels we have stayed in. So if you aren't worried about amenities or service that will make you cringe and just want a clean place to sleep then I suggest this place.
However don't quote me as we could also have just been lucky to get a clean room by fluke as well.

They had ice

Stayed here this summer and was pretty disappointed. For $185/night it should really be 49.95/night. Our bath towels were dirty, light bulb missing, luggage rack fell apart, people smoking right outside our door which stunk up our room, plywood for walkways, pretty sure people are living there full time, paper notes on the wall with scotch tape to not plug in more than one thing at a time. Would never go back or recommend.

Just go somewhere else.

Our family of four plus puppy had a great stay for three nights as we headed each day to Cumberland for some awesome mountain biking.  The manager offered to store our bikes in the basement under the office so we knew they were securely locked away each night. We also enjoyed breakfast each morning at the The Hen and Hog Cafe which is adjacent to the motel and had an outdoor patio that was perfect for our group of 11. Would stay here again for sure, either for biking or skiing.

Family bike weekend

This hotel labels itself as 'pet-friendly,' yet after I booked and notified them that we are travelling with a rabbit, they got back to me to say that they do not allow rabbits. Reality check: these animals are no longer meat fodder but the third most popular pet. They are super-quiet, and do no smell at all. Most (ours included) are litterbox-trained. This hotel needs to either advance into the 21st century, or stop advertising itself as pet-friendly.

Unable to stay here due to misleading advertising

This certainly qualifies as a budget motel.  The blue bathtub and the fan (instead of air conditioning) certainly gives it away.  Motel really needs updating, however, it was a reasonable place to stay for one night.  We were on the second floor, and we could hear whenever anybody passed by the window.  The view is of the street.  
WiFi is provided. 
There is an indoor pool (very outdated) and hot tub.  They provide toys for kids. 
We ate breakfast in the attached restaurant "The Hen & the Hog Café"...which was delicious!

Budget Motel

Good location in midtown with respectable retail nearby and, plenty of parking. 
Great kitchen with ample dishware and cookware with and big fridge. Good wifi and tv channels and very quiet and the street view in back is nice. 
AND best of all really great beer below at Forbidden Brewery.

EAsy to find and we booked months in advance and got a good deal. There is coin op laundry here. WE stayed in suite 111 and 112 main floor which was beautifully decorated and well appointed. couch was a little uncomfortable to sit on but the beds were pillow soft as were the pillows. Two bathrooms and a completely separate bedroom makes it ideal for families and privacy. Great kitchen with ample dishware and cookware with and big fridge. Good wifi and tv channels and very quiet and the street view in back is nice. They provide fans cause there is no AC but i was not hot as windows open wide too ...quite sound proof and friendly staff for sure. Nicely decorated pool area and there is a hot tub...Our only issue was the hot tub caused a bad rash. Staff were quick to respond and a promise to address it came right away but it did keep us up itching most of the night regardless....Still i would not hesitate to stay here over and over again if in the area again...this is a true gem of a place !!

Great stay with great value ....almost perfect !!

As I start my day at 2:30am to catch a Greyhound for beautiful Courtenay from Chilliwack British Columbia, I would have never thought I would be treated in such disgust.
Reaching my destination at 12:30pm was not the only treasure on my mind, as was sleep! 

As I stumbled off the Greyhound with a fully packed suitcase, shoulder bag and purse, I then make my way to the Comox Valley Inn and suites expecting to retrieve my key to then get settled. I was not welcomed by the nice women I had spoken to previously by telephone but I was questioned by the manager Hardeep Mamahas (who kindly wrote his name after this confrontation) he then looked at me, and let me know in a stern, and certain manner "This is not a crisis unit, this is a hotel!". 
I then couldn't believe my ears so I asked his name, then insisted again. Hardeep then wrote his name on the piece of paper in front of us and I was sent on my way.
Quite honestly I was exhuasted due to traveling for about 9 hours, and I looked how I felt. But is this okay? Can hotel manager insult their possible guests? Please message me if you can I would like help on this matter, I still feel personaly insulted and quite upset.

Personaly Insulted~ Regected due to "Crisis"

Nice, older place. Needs some renos, yet we were comfortable there. We especially liked the two bedroom, two washroom suite, featuring plenty of room.  The Suite has kitchenette and basics one needs for a longer stay. The Motel is close to everything in town. 
There was a second TV in the smaller bedroom.


Large Suite

This place was disgusting, it smelled like moss and cigarette smoke, the furniture was from the '80s, really not a place to go for a family if you expect a minimum of hygiene.
