I stayed 2 nights in one of the smaller units.

The Good.

1. An amazing location with stunning views out to Digby, the Annapolis Basin and Bear River.  Lots of trails to walk on and to explore the grounds, including a lovely beach. A great place to relax.

2. The owners were very friendly and provided helpful tips on places to eat and places to go.

3. The little cottage had a lovely deck overlooking the foliage in full Fall colours.

4. The bedroom and sitting room were clean. The bathroom was fine with a good shower. Internet and TV were fine.

The Bad.

1. The kitchen area was very dated and dark. I think other units may more recently developed. There wasn't any water or a coffee machine, which would be nice given the distance to the nearest shops.

2. There is no signage from the main road, so not the easiest place to find.

Overall

A stunning location and great place to relax or explore this beautiful area. A few extra touches would have just made thjngs  perfect. Would happily recommend.

Fantastic location and good stay

Of all the places we stayed in Nova Scotia, this was our favourite - everything was perfect from accommodation, welcome, location to views and absolute tranquility of the place. The guys that run the place are fab. I have nothing negative I can say about this place, it’s worth every penny. We initially planned to stay for 2 nights but asked for a third as we loved it so much. If we go back that way, we’d definitely be looking to stay again. Highly recommended. 

Fabulous in every way.

Beautiful location close to the water. Stayed in cottage, well apointed and clean. Kitchen well equipped. Effective heating. Hosts are helpful and give good advice regarding restaurants and things to do.

Superb

We stayed in the Heron cottage, and my husband and I loved every moment of it!  Gavin and Laura were perfect hosts, attentive but not intrusive, and knowledgeable about the area.  The cottage was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. We had our own little deck overlooking the water - stunning sunsets!  It was cool but sunny weather; the walk along the beach during low tide was brisk but we enjoyed the scenery and watching the clam diggers! We did not take advantage of it, but there was plenty of chopped wood for a fire in the indoor fireplace, or the outside fire pit.  Highly recommend this property :)

For my first time in NS i must say i was very happy ! Super beautyfull...super clean and friendly owner.Quiet spot but everything close buy..we are very satisfied Ty ! C you again

Beautifull

Stayed here as part of a group of eight friends. We had two suites in the main lodge which were both beautifully furnished. The kitchens had everything necessary to make a meal. The decor was lovely with crisp white walls and beautiful tranquil green trim and doors. The suites were very clean with lovely linens clean bathrooms with lots of hot water. The grounds are beautiful with a nice beach, amazing view of the sea, walking trails and immaculate beautiful gardens. The hosts are wonderful and helpful. We really enjoyed an evening campfire.

Beautiful property

We were delighted as we drove into the expansive property with the stately driveway. We were met by our host Gavin at the lodge and he had all paperwork done, and escorted us to out cottage - Eagle View. We would highly recommend this cottage for 2 couples as there are 2 king suites within the cottage, each with their own bathroom & shower, and a well-stocked kitchen. A large, partially covered deck overlooks the beautiful Annapolis Basin, and directly across the water is the town of Digby.
The property is huge with cleared pathways for walking, and there is access to the shoreline. Gavin was most helpful, and as they live on the property was readily available as needed.
Overall a definite do-over, and 5 stars!!

A FABULOUS weekend!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a riverside cottage and the heron cottage 
The riverside is newer and furnished very well with a good view 
The property has walking trails and you can walk down to the beach ( not really for swimming)
Gavin the owner was very helpful and gave us information about places to visit 
Deep brook is not far from Digby where we did our grocery shopping 
Good place to visit Kejimkujik Park and Annapolis Royal 
Make sure you book kayaking at the park in advance as it gets busy 

Scenic location 

Stayed here for the first few days of october with the wife and we absolutely loved it. The hosts Gavin and his lovely wife were great when we needed advice on best places to go. They even booked our whale watching trip for us which turned out to be a great day as we spotted 4 humpbacks and some dolphins. The whale watching company was according to Gavin the best one in the area and it proved to be right.The timber lodge was very well equipped with everything you would need. All kitchen utensils, a fridge, cooker etc.It overlooked bear river which was so peaceful. would certainly stay there again if in Nova Scotia.

Great getaway with a peaceful setting

We stayed in one of the cottages after booking as a last minute stay. The cottage was simply awesome and was so spacious with wonderful views of the cove below. The kitchen was perfect for all our needs and the bedrooms were so comfortable. We cooked in both nights as it was just so nice. We also visited the 'secret' beach to watch the sunset on the second night. Highly recommend for couples or a family. We used this as a base to visit the national park which was about 30 minutes away.
