Kind of disapointed with our stay at this hotel.
Our first impression of the room is that it was quite tidy and clean looking.
However a few minutes after our arrival we discovered a couple of used condoms that were left stuck into the recycling bins from the previous occupants.
This discovery made us worry about how well ( :/ ) this room was actually cleaned before our arrival.
While there is a fan in the bathroom, there was no way to turn it on, making the room quite stuffy and humid after taking showers.
The room has no AC and despite us visiting on colder days, the room got quite hot at night so keep that in mind for your visit.
The parking was an extra 16$ a day and is located a 5 min walk away from the hotel which is not the most convenient.

Overall our impression of the place would have been better without the used condoms that were left in the room for us to discover.

Unfortunately disapointed by our stay

Clean, modern and plenty of outlets and charge ports. The kitchen was amazing, the view was fantastic, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff at check in and ruling our 3 day stay was helpful and polite and we made use of the on-site laundry facilities, which were convenient and affordable. 

100% would recommend to traveller's and will stay again.

Wonderful Accomodations

It was a pleasure to stay for few nights at this place. The bed was extremely comfy and kitchen was a great addition to feel like home. The room was clean and spacy. It is also reside in great area with beaches and access to to any parts of the city.

Amazing place to stay

We had a great stay at the Ponderosa Suites in Vancouver.  These rooms are student dorms during the school year, but offered as hotel rooms during the summer.  Our room itself was small, but it had a good layout that made it function larger than it was.  It had a decent kitchen area, including a full-size refrigerator.  The bed was comfortable--always important for me!
The front-desk staff are students or recent grads, & their customer service is outstanding!  We were traveling with  2 kayaks on top of our car, making it too tall for the parking garage.  The desk clerk worked diligently to find us an open parking lot on campus, "just a 15-minute walk away."  But it was late at night & dark!  So they drew us a map to the parking area, then arranged for their campus "safe walk" program to meet us in the building adjacent to the parking area & give us a free ride back to Ponderosa Suites--and the drivers wouldn't even accept a tip for their service!  For our next 2 nights there, they found us a much closer open parking lot.

This is our new favorite hotel in Vancouver!

Great find for lodging

We had a beautiful view of the mountains and ocean! The room is clean and comfortable with easy access to the beach and walking paths.  We did a mediation in the Zen Garden, and the access to downtown is easy and relatively quick.  Everything about our stay was perfect.

Love the location and value

Loved staying here.  Incredibly clean, comfy bed, and we had a great view of the city from our window.  Will absolutely stay here again next time we are in Vancouver.  Fantastic price for what you receive.  Good to keep in mind that you do have to pay for parking though.  Still was worth it.

So lovely!

Our stay at Ponderosa Studios was perfect.  First, there is a spot to pull up your car to check-in/unload before going to park. The staff was noticeably friendly and helpful on both check-in and check-out. There was a secure lock-up for our bikes...instead of leaving them on the back of the car in the parking lot. The room was bright and clean, and I always appreciate a fan. 
This place has good value for the price point in Vancouver. 
It’s a bit out of the way, and parking will cost a good $20-30 extra depending when you arrive/leave, but overall I’d stay here again without hesitation. 

Hotel accommodations on beautiful UBC campus

The Univ. of British Columbia is a huge campus but easy to get around.  Ponderosa Studios is fairly new and quite comfortable with a fridge, microwave and oven.  Students live there during the regular school year but the studios are open to all in the summer.   Bus transportation is very good and reasonable with a Compass card.  The hotel front desk staff are mostly students and very helpful and pleasant.
