Arrived on Saturday snowy evening, well greeted and invited to nice clean and pleasant room for overnight accommodation. Climate controlled for your comfort with available entertainment with  WiFi Internet, CATV, property to walk and relax.

Quick visit along Hwy 17

Hotel is clean and generally speaking is OK. My big problem is the way too strong noise from the washroom, once you turn on the lights. If someone is sleeping (happened to me), and someone else uses the washroom - rest assured that you'll wake up. This was my main concern.

It's OK, in a case that you're alone

Stayed one night.  Manager was pleasant. Check in fast.  Room was clean and comfortable.  AC worked well. Small fridge was helpful. Room was quiet. Plenty of hot water in shower. Pretty good value in my view.

Have stayed here several times in the past and the management s
was respectful and the motel has othe the seemed clean. This time around my friend travelling in two separate cars Anders  I took two separate rooms. He had quite a small dog with him. They charged him 20 dollars for the dog. In the past, I had always had noticed that the bedding and towels had always been sprayed with a fragrance of some sort. The first time was kind of nice but this time it was overpowering. Just before checking out this time, I completely moved the bedding to look for something I thought I had placed on the bed. Lo and behold, at the foot of the bed was a noticeable streak of what looked like dried blood. Needless to say I was disgusted as I can only now go assume the sheets had not been changed from the previous patrons which has now led me to believe that they spray this fragrance on the bedding and towels PERHAPS because they don’t always change the bedding! The towels are threadbare and have this kind of soapy feel to them. I ALWAYS ALWAYS treated the owners VERY VERY respectfully but I can’t tell you how disappointed I was this time! I had even left previous positive feedback on this place but now will NEVER EVER stay there again!! They gouged my friend the twenty dollars for the small things dog and obviously my sheets were not clean. Sorry about the negative feedback but it’s what I experienced this time!

VERY disappointed

This was a decent, affordable place to stop for the night. We paid $99 + tax for 2 adults and 1 child. There is no restaurant, but a place down the road (heading east) serves a good breakfast. The management seemed to be taking the proper COVID precautions, but to be extra safe we always wiped down high-touch surfaces with Clorox wipes in every hotel room we stayed in. There is a nice lake front a couple of miles away.

No complaints

I made a reservation with booking.com for a room with 2 beds, but they said I booked only a room with one bed. So I asked if they had a room available with 2 beds, and they said that they did, but that I would have to cancel this booking to upgrade, but then they just kept telling me just to cancel the booking. I couldn't get through to booking.com, but apparently he was able to and was "allowed" to upgrade me to 2 beds for an extra $11. I call shenanigans. I found putting me though this hassle and passing the buck to the booking company was a horrible way to treat a paying customer!

No complaints on the room itself, but had a horrible experience with the manager!

It amazes me that this motel has done as well as it has. I suspect their current rating will not last.  When I first checked in last night, they tried to charge me $79 for a single room, even though the online rate was noted as $69. As the motel is on the highway, I did not get a night of great sleep and was running late. I asked if they would consider an extra 30 minutes on the check out (11:30 instead of 11:00) and I was told, yes, but I'd be charged extra. Rules are rules and they were unwilling to bend these, even though the request for extra time was minimal. For the last forty years I have travelled a great deal for my work and while I seldom request a late checkout, I've never been charged for an extra half hour by any hotel. Nor have I been treated as rudely. On the upside, the bed was comfortable and I appreciated the mini-fridge and microwave (hence the 2 out of 5 rating). No matter. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Not pleased

Was very clean, excellent service - I asked for two extra pillows, bed was very comfortable, wash room spotless and  everything worked. I stayed in a smaller room  it was great for a good night sleep and on the road again. Great value for price.

Very comfortable  bed

We stayed here one night while traveling through on a motorcycle tour. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and offered advice regarding places to eat in the area. I would recommend two things to the owners though - splurge and buy some new shower taps - they were very difficult to use and get the water the right temperature due to their age - and buy a bath mat for the shower. I slipped and fell and this wouldn’t have happened if there was a bath mat in the shower.

Clean and Comfortable

I recommend this motel if you want a clean and inexpensive place to sleep. The bed was new and very comfortable. Heating system is new and works well. wifi connects smoothly. Satellite TV provides lots of channel choices. Room has a spacious feel and includes fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Owners have done good job of updating and decorating the room. Bathroom is small but adequate. Earplugs required due to proximity to highway. Can't go wrong, especially for a short stay.
