First time in Minden working in the area for a week and had the pleasure of staying at the Highlands motel. Super clean, friendly staff attention to detail. Wonderful stay! If I had to be really really picky the shower was difficult to find the sweet spot between too hot and too cold but that's a stretch 😀 great stay ill be back!

Lovely stay!

If you are looking for a pretty setting, superior accommodation and friendly hosts, you’d be wise to book at the Highlands. They do book up fast; so plan well ahead. We went for the Fall colours and definitely will return for a summer trip.Very reasonably priced too !

The Best by Far

What an absolutely delightful place to stay.  So so clean, freshly decorated and spotlessly maintained. You could not ask for better service.  The hosts are very accommodating and found us a convenient space to park our truck and boat.  They even moved their own vehicle to make room. The TV even gets all the big city programs and the real bonus is the Peppermill Restaurant is only 100 yards down the road (a great place to eat). The only improvement would be to add better highway signage as its easy to pass right by before you see the place.

Hidden Gem in Haliburton Highlands

Absolutely wonderful place to stay!  Freshly renovated, warmly decorated and clean, clean CLEAN!!! Rooms have big monitors, air conditioning and WiFi.  Bonfires in the evenings, beautiful Oleander trees and hanging baskets decorate the grounds. Sandy beach on a warm western exposure lake a few steps away, nice common area with pool table, games and entertainment.  Definitely a family-friendly place and excellent for seniors!  Big Muskoka chairs in front of every room. Grounds are flat and grassy for easy footing.  Trails to walk and nearby restaurants to visit.

Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND spending time here anytime of year.  Dora and Paul will make you mist welcome. Make sure you see their finches! Thank you for a wonderful few weeks!

Best Summer Vacay 2020!

We went to spend time with family and had a fantastic stay! Paul & Dora are welcoming and awesome! We will be back again soon! No restaurant on site but we knew that.  There is a lodge with a fridge, stove, tables to dine at and an organ to entertain your own guests! Clean, comfortable and affordable! We highly recommend this destination,  we will make it our little get away annually! Kelly & Michael

Great stay

My parents travel to the Higlands motel regularly, it is their getaway “home away from home”. It is cozy,clean,excellent location with many fantastic restaurants around, and has a wonderful atmosphere. They just love it! Now they just booked a stay there for my mother’s 65th birthday, this is where she wanted to celebrate her milestone.
I currently live in Australia and wanted to try to plan a surprise for her so I contacted Dora the owner. Dora was more then happy to help. She went shopping for me and arranged to have champagne and chocolates in my mother’s room for her arrival. Words cannot express how much being able to arrange this surprise meant. Thank you Dora!
Whether your passing threw  or arranging a longer stay to enjoy what the area has to offer, your going to love it!

Your going to L❤️VE it!

We stayed in the Moose lodge - an extremely clean one bedroom loft with living room with 2 futons, kitchen table, keurig coffee/tea kettle station, small bar fridge and a bathroom (toilet & sink in 1 room; shower in separate room). The lodge has a large satellite tv., big windows, fireplace and the loft stays nice and warm in the winter. 
The hotel owners are a lovely, friendly couple.
The lodge is located ON the snowmobile trail and there was convenient parking on site for our truck and huge trailer. 
There is no restaurant on site... but you could bring prepared meals to heat up in the "community hall space" below the moose lodge.
A steak house is a walk away and a breakfast place is a 5 minute sled ride up the trail.

This was our second stay at this motel. We spent four nights here during our visit to Ontario.

The motel is conveniently located, just off the highway near to the small village of Carnarvon. The nearest place of any size is Minden. There is no eating place on site but there are a number of diners and restaurants nearby. The closest that serves breakfast is The Mill Pond which we recommend. The close-by Pepper Mill is also good but, we believe, only open in the evening.

Our room was clean, adequately sized and comfortable. There was a fridge and a TV but no coffee making facilities. The aircon was effective. The bathroom was good.

The current owners are obviously investing a lot of time, energy and money on the property. Our room had been refurbished since we last stayed in it les than twelve months ago. New doors and windows had been installed and the new built in blinds were very effective. The owner was working on refurbishing the front office area while we were there.

There is a pleasant pond are in the grounds and a barbecue area.

We visit this area quite often and would always consider it for a stay.

This motel is very clean and well kept.The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Very good location,just 5 min. walk to the beach.Restaurant is very close 3 min.walk.
We love this place and coming back every summer for weekends.

Perfect place to stay

This small motel is the dream of a married couple with two children. This is evident in the loving facilities, the very helpful hosts and the nurtured ambience! The property is located right on the main road, but it is very easy to find and, despite the traffic, is amazingly quiet. Two minutes' walk away is the beautiful 12 mile lake with a small sandy beach. Paul, the owner of the hotel, lends kayaks and carries them there with pleasure! We felt very comfortable!! It's worth knowing: it's absolutely self-service. In Minden, about 10 km away, there is a salon!
