sooo this is the frostiest, most negative  experience we've ever had at a hotel.  we booked through Wagjag for a special.  we called and were told check in is 3 p.m.  we advised we coming a long way, might be there by 2ish, not sure of the distance.  they assured us to come on ahead as there were only 3 couples registered.  we arrived at 2:05 and were literally told to "go away" and come back at 3.   we asked if we could have lunch only to find out they don't serve lunch on "check in days."  so we drove 35 kms to the nearest town, nothing was open.  we bought a loaf of bread and some cheese at the general store.    so here are the 3 questions we asked when we booked; can we bring wine to our table; do you have hot tubs; can we upgrade our room.  answer number 1; yes you can bring wine to your table.  we proceeded to do so and that's when they advised they have a $35 corkage fee .... for a $15 bottle of wine and their wine sells for $80.    Yes, they have hot tubs only to find out they are not open in the winter months.  Yes, you can upgrade your room for $75 only to find out they charged us $150.   we disputed that charge at check in - the receptionist went across the lounge twice to talk to "the boss" in her office who clearly knew we were displeased but did she get up off her butt and come out to assist in sorting out unhappy customer?  Nope.  she sat in there listening to the whole encounter, never so much as glanced our way even though we could see her!  They wanted to know the name of the Nomi staff who told us $75 ... did we think to ask the name of that staff member?  No, we did not , just knew it was a male.  So they refused to honour $75.  .  We said okay, we decline the upgrade and request a "regular" room.  the equally frosty receptionist said no, our room was prepared and we had to take it.  Now get this .... there were 3 couples in the entire facility, it was pretty much EMPTY but they refused to move us to a regular room.    I have to say dinner was spectacular BUT we have stayed in that area for many years and been to Nomi for dinner only.  The menu has not changed in three years.   The owner/manager needs some courses in customer service and tone down the haughty attitude  The receptionist's should take the same courses.  the only reason i'm giving a 2 is dinner was good.

Negative Experience

Nomi Resort Club was everything I needed for the weekend. My partner and I came down for the weekend to spend some time together and from the moment we walked in we felt so welcomed. From the food to the drinks which - which were outstanding... to the activities we chose,  it was all an experience to remember to say the least. The staff were so friendly and the massages we got were out of this world. I can't wait to go back!

best place for an escape!

Such a beautiful experience. Our room was incredible we did not want to get out of bed. The food was perfection, every meal was a 10 out of 10. The amenities were amazing, we did the sauna, steam room and outdoor pool which we all enjoyed. Then spent the rest of the afternoon around the fire. In the evenings they have a lounge which was so much fun! I highly recommend. Can't wait to go back in the summer! This place is luxurious and the staff is so friendly. We really enjoyed our stay

Amazing experience

I visited NOMI this week with a friend for a night away. I had no idea what to expect prior to arrival. The area is stunning - even well into winter with little snow the evergreens are tall and gorgeous, the resort was tastefully decorated. 
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a lovely young lady at the front desk. She provided me with all information and offered tea or coffee. I made myself comfy in the atrium and awaited my friends arrival. 
Once she arrived we made our way to our rooms to drop our belongings. I was so impressed by the rooms. The beds are so comfortable, the linens are clearly very new. The bathroom was stocked with high quality soaps and lotions - and a Dyson hair dryer! Nice touch. 
We headed down to the restaurant for dinner and Chef Hugo created magic for us. The ambiance of the dining room was lovely. I ordered the gin cocktail - unreal. My friend had the whiskey one. We ordered salad and crab cakes (I think) - both were great. I cannot say enough positive about the dining experience. Truly world class food - I travel regularly and can say this was one of the best food experiences I’ve ever had. 
The resort staff eagerly setup a fire for us to make s’mores later in the evening. It was all in all a fantastic experience.

Excellent experience 

Room was lovely and clean, and the resort is on a great property with beautiful scenery. We had a few spa treatments with Joy, she was wonderful and attentive and I had such a relaxing massage.

The trails were breathtaking with all of the autumn colours. Lots of things to rent/do, we rented a paddleboard on the lakeside (just a short walk from the resort).

Restaurant is wonderful, and the food is to die for- definitely worth coming up to try out Lands8Fifty.

Amazing!

Charged me for $350 for a iPad charger that they claimed was broken and missing from the room. It was there was there and working when I left.

Resort was under construction while we were there. Didn't have access to the waterfront

Terrible

Coming from Toronto, taking the less crowed local roads, 507,503,118 & 648. The drive is worth coming up this north. Curves after curves, beautiful paved roads just continues. The staff is beyond just nice, they really have hearts and want you to have a good time at the Resorts. As a dog friendly hotel, I totally forgot to pack my dog's food. The staff ensure my dog fed well, they even offer her beef steak.... The food is another level, must try their Braised beef short ribs, is just melt in your mouth. Make sure you ask for their special cocktails... you will want more than just one for sure. Spa is excellent, my wife's shoulder is very tight and not able to move her arms that well, so she had a therapeutic massage, and after the massage, she can hit me in my head while I am driving too fast to get into that corner on our way back home.

Sport Cars Destination - Spa that makes your worries away

Overpriced and a 20% gratuity was added to the bill. Self billed as a "world culinary experience" it was good, even very good but it wasn't "world culinary". The dinning room can seat 40+/- and on a Sat night in June there were 8 people seated including us (party of 2). We had a beet salad, bruschetta, a prosciutto wrapped chicken and mash with a hint of curry. Very tasty. And a mushroom chicken fettuccine that was also above average. We each started with a cocktail and also had dessert and coffee. So far so good ? Our waiter was awesome, chatted with him quite a bit and he was did everything he could. Hard to create a great atmosphere in a big empty space. Not a big deal. What rubbed us the wrong way: 1.) 20% gratuity added to the bill (i would have given more if offered the chance) but adding it withouth my knowledeg or consent got under my skin. 2.) As we entered the building a sales pitch to buy a condo on the property (we just came for dinner!) 3.) Cost. No wine and it was $211 (including the 20% gratuity they decided I should pay). At best this was a $120-$140 meal. Next time we go out for dinner in the Haliburton area we'll go back to Rhubarb Restaurant. They offer everything Nomi 8Fifty does but better.

Don't waste your money

My trip was for business. Myself and a 4 person team stayed here. Food 10 out of 10.  Flatbread, and Rosemary iced tea to greet us. Main courses were all 5 star level. The rooms are updated in some units. My bed was very comfortable. ( We went while the resort was under reno ) Quiet ambiance inside and out with an upbeat pool bar lounge. The Muskoka chairs and fire pits were My highlight.
I am returning June 2023. I'm looking forward to seeing this place in a summer setting.
Worth the drive from the GTA. A great escape.
