I was down for a family birthday and stayed here as others were here. What a spectacular, friendly accommodating place and location. The property is a heritage building. The rooms are small but graciously appointed. The building is quiet. The staff is great. No bad things to say other than I hope people stay away so I can keep to myself! A perfect location to stay.

What a hidden gem!!!

What a lovely heritage building! I was surprised by this tastefully decorated guest house and the warm hospitality the moment I walked in.  The owner did good job to maintain the old charm and add modern convenience. The community room upstairs is very comfortable.  Breakfast is lovely.  It is a great place to stay!

We stayed at Oak Bay Guest house and had a really nice visit. It was within easy walking distance of some good eating places, and also easy to get around without a car. 
The owner was very friendly, top sun room upstairs was huge and very comfortable.and the garden was large and  very well kept. I would have no trouble recommending this guest house to visitors.

Thanks again for your place! We had a great time and the Oak Bay Guest Househouse was perfect.... actually better and more spacious than the photos portrayed. The bedrooms were large. Most outstanding though was Dunkin's hospitality. He went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. We would recommend this home to anyone that wants to enjoy Victoria from a very local, lovely and quiet neighbourhood.

Amazing food and great place to stay

Visited Victoria in July of 2019. The Oak Bay Guest House was located in a very sweet neighborhood and was a short (less than 5 minute) walk to the waters edge. It was an easy drive from the house to the downtown area of Victoria. The daily breakfasts were all wonderful (included in the price), and the upstairs common area was equipped with coffee and tea which was a plus after a long day. This room also had comfortable chairs to sit and read or enjoy the garden view. Speaking of the garden, it is such a wonderful place to sit and do whatever you wish. In terms of the rooms, they are small but worked well for my sister and I. We had a room with two twin beds. The beds were very comfortable. Anyway, overall this was a great place to stay. Will certainly go back.

Wonderful place to stay

From my research, I concluded that staying downtown Victoria would be too noisy and too expensive. So I found the Oak Bay Guest house just a 10 min drive to downtown. 
I enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast.  The staff was friendly.  The house has a nice yard with a little sitting area.  Inside the house there is also a sitting room with a mini fridge and tea available. 
This is an old house where several rooms are available to rent. We had a small one bed room with a very tiny bathroom. The room could use some maintenance, the toilet roll holder was coming off the wall and the sink stopper was loose.  The curtains did not keep out any light so I could barely sleep past 4 AM when it got light.  
The breakfast was tasty but there was no choice for what to eat.  It almost felt a bit awkward to ask for things that weren’t available, for example they had dry cereal out but no milk. I suppose that might come with the whole ‘bed and breakfast’ territory. 

Good location- old house 

I made a brief trip to Victoria primarily to visit family.  This was a perfect location away from the busy downtown yet within walking distance of the beach. The rooms are not huge but are tastefully decorated with a sense of the period.  The building dates from 1911 or so and there are many little features that are historic. I loved the claw foot bathtub!  Breakfasts were very good.

Perfect location, great hospitality

When we arrived, they offered us a better room than the one we booked via a different platform because we accidentally booked a room with twin beds. This room was pretty big, super clean and lovely decorated. The house itself is impressive, we especially loved the breakfast room. The food was homemade and as the service excellent. We will definitely come back in summer!

It felt like home

We loved staying at this 1912 Heritage Guest House. The rooms were tastefully furnished and included a games, TV  and reading room. Our bedroom was very comfortable - the bed was good quality with a choice of two pillows for extra comfort.  We also relaxed in front of a fireplace in comfortable chairs. This guest house is in a great location and only 5 minute walk to the Oak Bay Marina Restaurant where we had a superb dinner. The host Duncan was very friendly and thoughtful.  Lastly we enjoyed a two course cooked breakfast before we left. ( could have been three if we'd wanted 
cereal ). I would definately recommend staying with Duncan.
