We walked through the door and were immediately welcomed with the bright, warm smiles of John and Steve, the owners. They took our bags and gave us a tour full of interesting historical nuggets. The entire mansion is stunningly decorated with a rich and romantic flair. Nothing is simply utilitarian, but chosen for its beauty as well. Our suite, the Lady Elizabeth, had everything you could want and more. The bed was sumptuous, wine and rock glasses were provided, the bathroom was immaculate and everywhere there was caring attention to detail. We had a delicious dinner in the elegant and cozy dining room. The service was great. Morning came and a thoughtful breakfast cooler was placed outside our door. Among its many goodies were champagne and orange juice, a very nice touch! They allowed us a late checkout which we needed as we were slow to leave the luxurious cacoon of a room. Steve and John were excellent hosts. Spouting charm at every corner, the Woodview Inn is an exceptional getaway we hope to have the pleasure of repeating! - Cynthia and Matthew

The owners Steve and John are the most welcoming.  We were spoiled  with kindness and fantastic food.  Enjoyed the amazing Christmas decorations.  Our room was spacious with a large ensuite and a very comfortable bed.  We will be  back for a third time.  Many thanks to the staff and the amazing chef; this was memorable for us.

This inn was so welcoming! What really set the stage was a phone call we received before we even got there.  We were running late and they called to ask if they should keep the restaurant open for us! I’ve never had an inn take the time to reach out and be so friendly and welcoming before!

The place was very cute and a close walk in to town. Breakfast was delivered to your door, even mimosas included! They also gave us some tips for our further travel. They also helped to carry our luggage to our rooms

Amazing hosts

A wonderful Inn! Celebrated a milestone birthday with friends (4 couples) for dinner, stayed overnight and had brunch the next morning. It was an absolute pleasure! The hosts were very accommodating and professional. The food and drinks were delicious and the rooms had tons of character, very clean with old world charm. A nice touch was the breakfast basket at your door in the morning! We will definitely return!

Charming Inn

I was looking for a place to sit by a window, read a book, and do a little wriing... disconnect, decompress, and relax. The Woodview Inn was exactlyy what I needed! I was drawn to a picture of the Henley Suite and it was perfect! Up and out of the way a bit, quiet, and John & Steve were the perfect hosts and made me feel cared for in every way.  I highly recommend both the hosts; the atmosphere; the walks downtown, to the water, and through the Art walk in the park... But really, what made the visit what it was, were the hosts John and Steve and their amazing staff, who make your visit what you need/want it to be :~)

We spent a great romantic weekend at the Woodview Inn in January 2023.  We stayed in the Lady Margaret Suite.  This is made up of a large bedroom including a comfortable king-sized bed and mini-fridge and an enormous bathroom which includes a jacuzzi tub.  If you are looking at the Inn building, this suite is made up of the three windows on the second floor on the front of the main building.  With the windows closed we heard no sound from outside the buildling.  Everything was also very clean.

The customer service was really outstanding.  From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by John and Steve who were fantastic and thoughtful hosts throughout our weekend.

We had reserved supper at the in-house restaurant - Graydon's - the evening of our arrival and our hosts were very patient as we had to move our reservation time twice given we were late arriving due to a snowstorm in Ottawa.  We had the Beef Tenderloin and Lamb Shank and both dishes were outstanding.  We also enjoyed the Sunday brunch and the stuffed french toast was decadent (and amazong).

What was another excellent feature of this place for us was the hosts preparing and placing a small cooler outside of our door each morning with a continental breakfast (sandwich, fruit, juice, yogurt and sparkling wine!) allowing us to relax in our room without having to go down to the restaurant for breakfast.  The room also had complimentary bottled water and oatmeal cookies.

It was a great stay from beginning to end and we will be back!

Great for a romantic getaway!

Everything was as advertised. The hosts were gracious and accommodating. They were able to replace the down duvet with a synthetic duvet to accommodate my wife's allergy and still keep us cozy warm.  The food in the restaurant was excellent. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great stay

John and Steve are the perfect Inn keepers. I wish we found them years ago. My wife and I have stayed at many Inns across Ontario as they are our preferred accommodation. This Inn stands with the best of them. We visit Gananoque three or four times a year and the Woodview Inn will now be our place to stay for every visit. I reluctantly give John and Steve a praising review as I'm afraid there will be no available rooms for my wife and I when I return (LOL). I would also like to mention that you should consider their dining room as a dinner option.  Their dining room is aesthetically pleasing and their menu will please everyone at your table. It is popular with local residents and Inn guests alike.
