This place was closing shortly after we left.  The communal areas needed a thorough clean.  The bedroom was spacious.  The king size bed was rock hard, it would probably would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor.  There was only one armchair in the bedroom and no table for a laptop.  The bathroom was a large space, but the toilet and sink were miles apart.  There was a gap under the shower door, so the floor flooded every time we took a shower.  The breakfast was help yourself in the kitchen to cereal, bread for toast, margarine no butter, jam, fruit, yoghurt, tea, coffee and juice.  Not the B&B breakfast of eggs and bacon cooked for us we have been used to.

Not great

We booked this inn or BNB for one night.  We were very disappointed by everything except the location.  It sits right beside the river which was a nice view from one of the bedrooms.  The inn was in need of a good cleaning.  The owners cooked their dinner late in the evening with so much garlic that it permitted every space to the point of nearly gagging us.  The breakfast that was included was bare bones, 3 boxes of cereal, three bags of bread for toast and a bowl of apples and bananas were on the counter.  You had to search for any dishes or cutlery.  We never saw the hosts in the am at all. For $200.00 we expect more.

Very disappointing

Two nights in Golden as part of a Rockies trip. There were so many positives about this accomodation - beautiful setting, lovely outlook, comfortable room and bathroom but it needs some TLC. The blinds in our room were broken and not dark enough. No instructions on how to work the TV. The shared kitchen area needs to be cleaned more thoroughly. Dishwasher was very dirty - needs a cleaner run through it. Breakfast was ok but not appetisingly laid out. Garden needs a tidy up.

Rockies trip

We arrived at the Inn to be told by the owner, that we were not due until to the next day, not true,produced our booking and were taken up to our room. This was lovely with a view to the mountains. It all started to fall apart after that, we had a lovely bathroom but the washbasin would not empty any water. I had to shave in the bath. Informed the owner who said he'd fix it,he forgot to do it and we had to remind him again! Then after he "fixed" it, the water just ran through!! Couldn't plug it.The breakfast was very much "do it yourself" just a few rolls, bagels etc and jam. Milk and butter out of the fridge,a bit like Youth hostelling. Not too impressed. Room was not cleaned and no clean towels. When we queried this, we were told they dont normally
change anything unless a 3 day stay!! The whole place looked that it needed some TLC outside at the rear weeds overgrowing the patio etc.Roof leak in lounge area, broken panel in kitchen roof. Cooker oven absolutely filthy! In general a "couldn't be bothered" attitude. Great shame as a lovely house in a great setting with restaurants and bars nearby.Could not recommend!!

Lovely House on Riverside

Stayed here in Sept 2017 as a stop-over on the way back to Vancouver from the Icefields Parkway.

Stayed in the Cariboo suite - a large, clean room and bathroom, modern and comfortable. A bit tricky to block the light coming in through the blinds and took me an hour to work the TV correctly (owner is offsite most of the time) but they were minor quibbles.

A quick walk into the town via a footbridge over the river takes you to several bars and restaurants.

Cereal, toast, yoghurts, and juice for self-service breakfast.

Good B&B!

Arrived late due to road closures in the area but check in was fine and the keys were left out for us with a lovely note welcoming us to the inn. We had the cariboo suite which was lovely, very spacious. Breakfast was help yourself and very well stocked, the manager was very nice and introduced himself to us while we were having breakfast. Inn is only a short walk of about five mins over the river into the town area. Golden is small and has just a few bars, but we found the tap room whihc was great for a snack and a beer after our long journey. Defo would recommend this place, very comfortable and reasonably priced

Great inn!

We stayed here for 1 night on a recent tour around British Columbia & Alberta. It was the cheapest place we stayed in & one of the best.
We were met by Joe who was very helpful & shown to our room. The room was huge with windows looking out towards the mountains.
The bed was very very comfortable & the bathroom massive.
It was a really nice walk along the river into town for dinner.
Breakfast is self service but with plenty of choice for cereal or bread, bagels & fruit & so we were very happy with our stay.
