We booked this place last minute instead of camping in the pouring rain.  The hotel looks great from the outside and the restaurant is amazing, great food, great drinks and the staff look like they love their jobs!  There's not really a reception, you just talk to the bartender.  He was really honest of the state of the room (and gave us the chance to back out), it's not pretty, the carpet looked pretty dirty, but the linens were clean and the bathroom looked pretty scrubbed down despite old pink toilet, sink and shower with peeling paint and rust stains!  We were SO happy to have HOT HOT water and a really comfortable bed.  The bar and music was great.  They said the live music would be going till 2am but they stopped playing at around 1am, but that didn't bother us at all either way.  We're actually thinking about going back there on our return trip, we had such a good time.  Looking for a cheap place with private rooms with ensuite bathrooms and a bit of a hostel feel?  This is a great place!

This place is by far the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at, if you can even call it a "hotel".

Review the attached pictures. The floors are badly stained everywhere, the bed is stained, there are wires hanging from the ceiling, the walls are filthy, and the ceiling looks like it's about to cave in. 

From the blood stains on the bed, I'm sure this place is invested with bed bugs.

All the rooms are above a bar - The Rockwater Bar & Grill, and the loud rock music goes until 2am. It's so loud that it literally shakes the building. 

There's also no wifi available.

The towels in the bathroom are all stained and gross as well. 

I asked the person in charge of the hotel if there was a cleaning staff to change the sheets in my room, and all he said was "Yeah, go knock on the room a few doors down from you and someone in there should be able to help you out." No help whatsoever. 

It literally doesn't get any worse than this.

Avoid this place at ALL COSTS.

Do not stay here, it's disgusting!!!! I gave the key back after seeing the unclean room, dirty towels, dirty toilet, dirty everything!!!! Floor was stained, and ceiling looked like it was going to cave in!! Did not even feel safe!!! Worst place ever!!

Creepy, dirty, hot, broken, loud. At least the barkeeper (=the whole staff) was honest upfront and told us that we probably wouldn't want to stay here. We had no choice.

We survived thanks to the obvious benefit of a bar downstairs: alcohol! After quite a few beers we could actually sleep and forget where we had ended up.

Should be your last possible option!

I'm lost with words on how to describe this HORRID place! Everything in the description around this place sounds good: Downtown location, view of the famous blue waters that belongs only to BC and Alberta, has a bar and a restaurant, non-smoking rooms. It's all there, but once I went inside, I felt how Dorothy Gale must've felt. "I have a feeling we are not in Canada anymore!". We saw a girl half naked walking past our car while we parked and that was the start of it! To get to our rooms, we had to go though a corner door. Ripped carpet on the staircase, super narrow hallway that has space for only one normal sized person could walk, broken glass on the windows, mixed scent of cigarette and old cloths, floors vibrating with the music below, white towels turned brown, white sheets turned brown, prickly floor carpet, toilet with think black stains, NIL air supply and don't even remind me about our room entrance door that had clear markings  that it had been broken open in the near past!!

We decided on this trip at the last minute for the long weekend and had no other choice except to stay in this only available space! I get it, it's one star, but when did they start rating Brothels with stars? Here's how the conversation went when my husband and his friend walked in to get the keys for our room:

Bartender girl: You are staying here??
Hubby & Friend: Yes (skeptically).
BG: How many days?
H&F: Just tonight.
BG: Oh! Then it's okay.
Hubby: Do we have fresh towels at the room? (Friend wonders why he asked the question 'cause every place should have them.)
While my husband realizes that it was a question, BG replies: I hope so!.
The rest of the conversation goes like this!

We whispered instead of talking inside our rooms, scared of getting attacked. I still can't believe that we made out of this place safe!

If we had a choice, we would've left the same night to a different hotel to stay! The fact that this place even gets booked via Priceline scares us!
