My daughter lives a few minutes from here, and I stayed there once before, in 2022, and I was quite happy! My son and I were planning to drive there again this month, but his car needed more repairs than the 3000 mile round-trip would handle, so we canceled. I had reserved through booking.com, and I totally understood from the beginning that there was little the hotel could do about altering my reservation, but it didn't hurt to ask. They have BENT OVER BACKWARDS to be helpful and prompt. I just love these people! I'll never use booking.com again lol, but whenever I can make it back to visit there, I'll stay again at their hotel.

The most helpful staff!

Hotel is well located close to many restaurants in Granby. Clean room, clean hotel, friendly staff. Breakfast is more than expected for the price. Great value.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Granby

I came with my sons hockey team and was surprised on how clean and new the hotel was for an Econolodge. Spacious rooms, well located in Granby, good breakfast, easy parking. Most of all, the staff is wonderful and ready to help. They accepted a late checkout to help the players rest between games, that’s what I call a staff who cares.

Very friendly staff, and very clean hotel. 

Lots of restaurants nearby breakfast selection was good.so close to Granby zoo.staff was nice.right near the highway.the rooms were nice.loved the breakfast. The bed was a little hard.lots of parking.

Quick stop

Find somewhere else to stay. Old rooms, mold around the windows, cracks in the ceiling. Rock hard beds. Old/loud AC unit. Not worth the price at all. 

And i've also never had a basement room at a hotel before. Needs some major renos.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Principal from August 14-15, 2021. Here are some points I will share from our stay:
- First I will say that the staff is awesome and great service
- We rented two rooms side by side on the main floor, one single and one double
- Check in is only at 4:00 and check out is noon. One room was not completely  prepared and had fruit flies and one room had used masks left in it
- Rooms were average but no complaints, they have updated nicely but still need some work
- WIFI is offered but does not work. Had one staff member tell me it doesn't always work since the router cannot handle the usage and another one check that I was using the proper information as she informed me it always works however we had none...
- The walls are VERY thin and you hear EVERYTHING. We had a bowling alley on top of us with three young kids running, banging and screaming all night and all morning and the rooms on either side were the same with kids running up and down the hallway the whole time and having a very loud party in their room next to ours until past midnight with the staff not being able to reach them by knocking on their door or calling their room. We were told they are allowed until 10:00 PM and then the noise must stop or they risk having to pay a charge of $150 for excessive noise as per hotel policy.  I do not wish ill on anyone however I do hope this was enforced (although I doubt it) and it really made our stay very unpleasant and we could not rest and relax or get much sleep.
- In conclusion, great family hotel for young kids. If you want rest and relaxation, not the place to go. Bring ear plugs and make sure you have a good data plan.  Hope this was useful.

If you can sleep through noise and don't need WIFI

Small rooms, good breakfast. Decided to stay an extra night in Granby, went back to rent a room the second night and the room price had increased by $25 even though it was still showing the same price online. Girl at the counter stated she was told the room price had increased by that amount nothing she could do about it. The hotel parking lot was pretty empty so we went to a different hotel. This was early in the week so it wasn't even a busy time for them. I guess they don't need the customers.

It’s dirty and smells of Chinese food because of the restaurant inside the hotel. The lock on my door was broken and the reception didn’t have the master key to open the door. I waited over an hour and the person to fix the door never showed. I have never been anywhere so disgusting in my life. The money I saved I spent in febreeze and Lysol wipes to clean the room

Nasty

The room room was so dirty that our white socks became almost black after a few minutes. We found even toys below the beds. There were a bunch of teenagers in the hotel that arrived around 12am and didn't allow us to sleep until 4 am. Even though I called reception 2 times to deal with the problem nothing was done.
