Grand Pre

Booked on Priceline. Total cost was $171.35CAD for a night. Far too expensive for what we got. Maybe the motor inn rooms are better. We stayed on the 2nd floor of the inn. Arrived at 10 minutes before checkin at 3pm. Room wasn’t ready until 3:15. It looked clean enough and the air conditioning was very good as it was blistering hot outside. 
The room was basic. The antique furniture quite lovely … but mirror should be replaced. Floor lamp shade was falling apart…go to Walmart and buy one! Bathroom was clean and toiletries stocked. We didn’t interact much with the staff other then to check in. We were up to visit wineries and didn’t spend much time in the inn other than to freshen up and sleep. However, when we were there, we were unsettled by the number of bugs in the room despite the windows being closed. They appeared to be mainly earwigs and beetles ….we caught and disposed of at least 15 of them in our short time there. We found some on our bed and it made us feel creepy and crawly all night. They also were always in the sink. And something definitely bit me overnight. 
In the morning, it took awhile for the shower water to heat up but when it did, the pressure was good. Unfortunately, an overwhelming urine smell was present in the shower.
We didn’t stay for the free breakfast because we honestly just couldn’t get the smell or the buggy feeling out of our minds. I still feel like I have bugs crawling on me. 
Very disappointed overall.

Not as expected

The administration allows reservations on independent sites (Ex: Booking). Sites like Booking.com show some rooms being accessible to 'pets'. In French, an 'S' means plural. The motel site does not display any regulations, so it is impossible to confirm exactly what they allow. I had a confusing call announcing that only one small dog is accepted. With all due respect, a regulation applies and we respect that. Where it is offensive, it is the repressive tone of the administration and especially the fact that they suggested that traveling with 3 dogs is totally open.

Disappointing Service - Lack of Accuracy

We stayed in the motel part this past weekend.  The room was very clean and check in was a breeze.  The beds were amazingly comfortable.  We both had a nap as soon as we arrived.  The grounds are beautiful and the location is very convenient to stay over if going to the drive-in movie theatre about 20 minutes away.  There's a cafe just down the hill and a gas station across the street.  Lots of places to go apple picking in the fall close by.

A couple of things that could be improved: there were quite a few flies in the room.  There was a fly swatter in the room so it's probably an ongoing issue.  I couldn't figure out the air conditioning but because it wasn't too hot it wasn't an issue.  The front desk closes at 9pm.  Some people might like to know ahead of time for comfort level.  

I did try to book in for a swim at the pool, however, the front desk said they were waiting on a water delivery and were unsure if it was going to happen that day.  So no swim, but otherwise a great stay.

One night stay

I stayed at this Inn for 2 nights in July as I wanted to be close to the Grand Pre Historic Site. The staff are terrific, very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
I stayed in the B and B part. The room was spacious and had everything I needed.

Convenient Location

We spent one night in September at the Inn, the home of former Canadian Prime Minister Robert Borden. The room was spacious and furnished comfortably. We had breakfast at the nearby Grand Pré Winery restaurant. Grand Pré is an interesting stopover for visiting the National Historic Site and a wine tasting at the Luckett Winery, from which you have a beautiful view, is highly recommended.

Interesting B&B

I spent my last night in Nova Scotia at the Evangeline Motel and everything was very good with my stay.   My room was very clean and had a very comfortable queen bed.   The bathroom was clean and water pressure was good.  I had no problem with the wifi and used it a lot to transfer pictures of my trip to Facebook.  I had a small desk to work on and there were two guest chairs also in the room.   Parking was just outside the room, but with mine it was just across the driveway.  The TV had a good many channels available and the A/C was also good.

They have a cafe just down the hill from the motel/inn and I had a very good breakfast there.

I was very satisfied with my stay and the convenience to the Grand Pre area I was visiting.

Good last night stay in Nova Scotia

We were looking for a no-nonsense two night stay in or near Wolfville and this motel suited us completely. Comfortable room with everything we needed; well-maintained gardens out front and a nice cafe/restaurant for breakfast (or other meals if required). Service was so friendly. Just one thing: ditch the plastic take-out containers - you can get paper based ones that are just as good.

Just what we wanted

The Evangeline was very pleasant. The room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The cafe in front of the property had the best fish and chips we found in the Maritimes. The indoor pool was an extra treat.

more than a motel

Overall, the motel room was clean and comfortable, and very conveniently located (at least for us). Main concerns - parking was a bit confusing, especially when another guest parks directly in front of your room; wifi was good at times but kept jumping in and out, annoying to say the least.  The beds (we ended up with two double) were small but comfortable.  Shower  was good and water was very hot.

The restaurant was conveniently located down the driveway and very reasonably priced.

Nice place

This is by far not your typical motel, at least for USA Standards.  This is more like a bed and breakfast (although the historic house on the side is used as a bed and breakfast).  The motel is very nicely updates, extremely clean, and has all of the amenities that one needs.  Beds were extremely comfortable and a/c worked well.  There is even an indoor pool and complimentary laundry on site.  Parking is right outside your door, check in was very easy, and the front desk clerk is one of the nicest persons I have ever met at a hotel/motel!  The grounds are very pretty and well maintained and overlook a vineyard.  I will definitely return!
