While this place looks clean and neat and Cherry is a good host, I had an uncomfortable stay and had to check out after the first night for 2 reasons:

1) The upstairs where the guest rooms are located reeks of cigarette smoke and body odor.  I had booked an non-smoking room and ironically there was a "No Smoking" sign in my room.  However, even with the window open at night, I couldn't sleep at all; the cigarette smoke smell was just saturated in the air.

2) Her husband was lounging in the common area with boxer shorts only the whole time.  As a solo female traveler and the only guest in the house, it was inappropriate and creepy.

I got no sleep that night and packed my stuff up at 5am to move to a local motel.  At HD View, you have to share a bathroom and the kitchen.  For the same rate, at the motel, I got my own bathroom and kitchenette.

Heavy smell of cigarette smoke / body odor

The bed was comfortable, the room had what we needed in addition to a nice view. The shared bathroom was dated but fairly clean. Breakfast the first day consisted of cold left overs from the couple before with hot coffee and new crepes added. The second day's breakfast was much better. The variety of food was good.
The hostess was warm and welcoming.

family friendly and reasonably priced

Cherry, the host, is wonderful!  The rooms are reasonably priced, clean, and well lit.  The first thing I notice was a note that said "Please help yourself" and indicated that there are snacks and refreshments available all day- simply great!  Good selection of TV channels available with a Shaw direct box in each room.  Comfortable bed, plenty of pillows, and it is apparent that Cherry has given careful consideration to the finer details.  She is undeniably good at providing guests with a home away from home.

Comfortable and Relaxed!

Highly recommend. Beautiful home. Cozy and clean. Host was friendly. I would definitely recommend to stay here over a costly hotel/motel. Great location.  Easy to find. Centrally located. 
Only downfall was I wasnt sure what channels were available.  I was only able to locate teletoon.
