We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Will gladly stay there again. Close to restaurants, banks and the Mail.There continental breakfast was good to.

Great Value

Dont go ! Poor service , people gutting and cooking fish in the corridor never experienced anything like it .
Complaints have been sent but so far no reply 
The room was tired and nothing worked just what you need following a long flight ! 
Staff were rude and uncaring .

Disgusting hotel

Booked with air miles points that said hotel was a Best Western Plus.  The pictures online looked great.  When we arrived the sign outside said R B Hotel and there was no Best Western sign.  The outside of the whole building was rusty, unkept, falling apart.  It looked actually like an abandoned building.  The inside as soon as you walked in had a terrible odour, we asked to see the room before we checked in and it had the same bad odour as well as the hallway.  The pool in the picture was nothing alike as well, it looked like the pool was not used for years, it was empty and rusty. It was a motel and not a hotel as advertised. We did not stay there and we called air miles back and they refunded our points due to the fact it was advertised as a Best Western and it was not.  We would not have gotten our points back based on how disgusting it was both inside and out but I guess people will still stay there, too bad. The only reason why I gave 1 star is because you had to in order to finish the review.

Misleading in every way

I’ve never written a poor review before but unfortunately the Royal Brock hotel was disappointing as a place to stay in Guelph. There is no bar, restaurant or other basic facilities in the hotel. The breakfast was very disappointing and I am not a fussy eater. There is an outdoor abandoned pool which is a bit of an eyesore. This is in effect a room only accommodation and should be advertised as such. While the location is convenient to the university you really need to be aware of what you’re paying for to avoid disappointment. Guelph on the other hand was a really nice place. Patrick

Disappointing Stay in the Royal Brock

I have never experienced such terrible customer service in any hotel I have ever stayed at. Staff was rude, sarcastic and completely unprofessional. When we came in to the hotel at the end of the night to go to our rooms. The “front desk guy” (as he called him self even tho we were no where near the front desk) demanded that we show him our room key or he would call the police to have us escorted off the property for trespassing. I said we are just going to our room what do the police have to do with anything? He then said “I wasn’t talking to and therefore your opinion isn’t valid here”. I work customer service myself and I know that standards and this was no where near acceptable.

Terrible Customer Service

The room was very clean, big with a comfortable bed. Staff were most helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and close to the University of Guelph. We stayed here one night while re-visiting the university. Good complimentary continental breakfast.
