Disgraceful. The worst service I have ever experienced. Bed bugs. message me for proof. No mobile internet. Not one time during the three months could I use my phone online. The tv was broken for months. But the arrogance and meanness of these people is just too hard to take. Appalling. Keep away from the Haven Inn.

My university travel agent selected this hotel for me and it was a great choice. Fantastic value for money. I have been staying here for 2 weeks whilst I study at the local university and it has been a great place to stay. Nice and clean, fantastic and friendly staff who are there 24hrs a day at the front desk. Continental breakfast served from 6:30am-10am. Short walk to the city centre and the local bus/train station. The hotel also has very fast free wifi and a regular turn down service for your room. If you are prepared to take a bit of a longer walk I would suggest visiting the area of Westdale, near to McMaster university, there are great restaurants and a 1920's style cinema. Would highly recommend this hotel for both long and short stays, I will certainly return here in the future.

A Great Location for Business, Study and Visiting

Booked this motel with no idea what to expect, but was a little concerned when the manager asked me to ring him instantly if there was any 'trouble', especially on Saturday night. I hadn't checked the reviews before I came, but discovered that the place seemed to have a very bad reputation, with lots of poor reviews on Tripadvisor. Well, all I can say is that the room was perfectly clean, the amenities worked, the management were very keen to do anything they could to help, and there was, in fact, no 'trouble;' at all. It's nothing special, but then it's very cheap, and to my mind, they're doing their best. I hope people give them a chance.

Trying hard to live down the past.

This place is great if you are on a roadtrip like we were. The bed sleeps great, the bathroom worked great and was clean. Also the staff is very friendly and always wants to help you if you have any questions. I only had problems with the wifi but my borfriend didn't so I think it was my phone who acted strange. I would come there again to sleep if I was on a roadtrip again.

If you are traveling Canada this is a good place for 1 night.
Clean room with wifi and cable, fridge and microwave.
No breakfast or coffee but there is a gas station a few steps away, it depends on youre demands what is good enough for you.

Nice stay

Recently stayed at this hotel. There was a transformer that went out during our visit. No AC, no cable, internet etc. Minimal lighting. It was hot outside and manager suggested to people to open non screened windows. We felt uncomfortable doing this on the main floor because there was a group of people smoking marijuana in the parking lot when we pulled in.I was not able to use the jacuzzi in the room that I paid extra for. The managers response to all of this was one of little empathy. No apologies, no refunds, no nothing. He was angry and rude yelling at people act of God, act of God. We asked to be transferred to a room because of my friends cancer. He stated there were no rooms available even though their sign clearly showed vacancy.I feel that there could have been some sort of compensation for people who spent a miserable night there in the heat. We stayed Away from the breakfast buffet because I had already read the reviews concerning green eggs etc. next time I’ll skip the trip to Mackinac and go to Waikiki beach.  The rooms are less expensive! Complete rip-off. Stay away from this place because the management just doesn’t care about you.

Save your money

I have been staying here since may 31 2018 since it’s been under new management they have really cleaned it up. They have mattress protectors from any type of bug I have not seen one bug nor have I woke up scratching they are in the process of ripping out all carpet and putting in beautiful flooring. The service is amazing when I do leave I will come back again for a night and visit.

The other reviews don't surprise me.  Too bad it's wedged so tightly between apartment buildings...at least it's peaceful at the cemetery across the street..great place to walk your dog.
Another plus is your surrounded by 24 hr business like Hasty Market and Ultramar.

Peaceful @ White Church Cemetary

Yikes.  Have not stayed in a place like this in quite a while.  The rooms were dirty and in need of some repair.  While some things like the bed were comfy and the vanity was new, the rest was quite disgusting.  In serious need of some drywall repair and some paint.  The flooring also needs tending to.  We did have a fridge and microwave.   The tv was also ok along with the selection of channels. The location was a little noisy.  The Wi-Fi is unreliable.  Thank God it was only 1 night.  Had it not been for the bed, I would have considered another hotel.
