We are typically airbnber’s and decided to switch it up and stay and a bed and breakfast. How lucky we were to have this as our first experience! The place is a little slice of heaven right near the wonderful park and close to Huntsville. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts on the porch were superb. We enjoyed the pets, the beaver pond, and all the other magical touches. This was the best part of our stay so far in Ontario and we would love to come back. Thank you Pam and Hondo for an amazing experience!

A little piece of heaven

My  husband and I stayed the weekend of Father's Day.  Morgan House is a beautiful and charming, rustic B&B.  The hosts were not only welcoming, but very friendly, making us feel at home the moment we arrived.  The house is the perfect retreat for a weekend getaway and the property is everything you want in a country setting.  I wish I took pictures of the breakfast served on both days but you will just have to book a weekend yourself to find out.  The ingredients were fresh and not only was it delicious, it was homemade and it doesn't get any better than that!  I highly recommend Morgan House for any occasion; it is exactly what we envisioned the perfect B&B to look like, while also exceeding our expectations.

Beautiful, Charming, Rustic B&B

We had been looking for a top notch bed and breakfast in Ontario and all of them so far seemed much less than perfect. Until we found Morgan House. Pam and Jamie are wonderful hosts - kind, thoughtful and helpful. The room is very clean and comfortable with decent mattress and pillows, and a large bathroom with a bath. The breakfasts are delicious and the location excellent for trips to Algonquin and Limberlost. This is a very special place indeed - similar to the best we’ve found in Europe - and we highly recommend a stay here. We will be back for sure.

Top Notch B&B - Better than the Rest

Such a lovely b&b that met all of our expectations and more. My friend and I stayed together in the room with two single beds for a girls weekend away in Huntsville. Very conveniently located. So much charm in both the house and around the property. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was hot. The owners were great company and had a nice fire out back on the Friday which they invited us to join in on. Everything was so easy going. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Lovely getaway

My sister in-law and I stayed this past weekend at the Morgan House Bed & Breakfast and it was amazing! Friendly hosts and yummy homemade breakfast each morning. Scenery is so relaxing and peaceful. I would definitely recommend.

Beautiful Bed & Breakfast

It’s a farm with a busy host but she was very gracious and the bed and bath were very nice. We were the only guests, thus the bathroom was all ours. The breakfasts were delicious and served on a beautiful porch. 

Unique, picturesque and lovely host

Last week my husband and I took our first ‘trip away’ since the ridiculous pandemic began, travelling with my sister and her 19 year old daughter to the Algonquin Park area of Ontario. And what a place we chose to stay. Morgan House B & B is an absolute treasure, a beautiful period property nestled in it’s own extensive plot of woodland, hills, lake and pastures. It has been lovingly and sensitively brought up to date by owners Pam and Hondo, who have conscientiously managed to convert their home (and business) to water and solar power while retaining all it’s period charm and modern conveniences (including a charging point for you car if you have gone electric). The accommodations consist of two lovely rooms, a double and a twin, simply and tastefully decorated with antiques and hostess Pam’s beautiful felted landscape paintings. We had the place to ourselves as the guest areas are on one side of the house while the hosts are on the other. A delicious breakfast of home made baked goodies as well as fresh fruits or eggs or french toast, or waffles (the menu changed every morning) was served on the beautiful and airy, screened verandah. Pam and Hondo were the perfect hosts, full of information about the area, places to see, restaurants to eat at, things to do. Morgan House is conveniently located within a 15 minute drive of picturesque Huntsville which has lots to see and do and a good selection of restaurants. The B&B is just outside Algonquin park, mere minutes from kayaking, canoeing, hiking, swimming. But you don’t actually have to leave the property to ‘get things done’. Hondo runs paddle boarding excursions when he’s not leading hikes into the park or you can try your hand at archery or axe throwing In addition, the couple keep a few animals, a horse, a donkey called Barney and a small flock of sheep who provide Pam’s felting wool. There are art classes and yoga classes and they now also provide a venue for weddings. What a dream place for your ‘big day’. I can’t say enough about this place or the energetic and engaging couple who run it with such care and attention. 
COME FOR THE TRANQUILITY! COME FOR THE COMFORT! COME FOR THE FOOD! COME FOR THE ACTIVITY! COME FOR YOUR WEDDING! YOU WON’T REGRET IT !

A Woodland Haven

I cannot rave enough about the experience we had this past Family Day weekend. Pam and Hondo are awesome hosts who managed to provide a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere to recharge and play in. The grounds and home are quite stunning, and you felt at home instantly. From being greeted by the handsome fluffball Stanley as we pulled up the meandering driveway (also an amazing toboggan run in the winter) to the warm welcome Pam and Hondo, and their very friendly cat Cali gave us when we arrived, we had no trouble settling into this new environment. For my first B&B experience I was apprehensive, but this quickly melted away as our hosts had the perfect balance of being supportive and available without being around all the time. 

The breakfasts were amazing. Fresh baked goods, accommodating to special requests, homemade maple syrup and fancy butters to go along with the assortment. The settings and decorations along with the high-quality food set this among some of the best breakfasts I have had. Pam also ensured that we had paper bags to take the extra baked goods along with us on our adventures and ensured that the meals had just the right mix of foods to power us on our long days playing in the wilderness. 

The décor was on point, with a feast for the eyes with great design decisions. The bed was comfortable and warm (nice flannel sheets) and the view from our bedroom was very serene. We booked the Queen room which gave us lots of room for all of our gear. There were beautiful plush robes provided and the bathroom was very well appointed with a beautiful tub to warm up in. Pam’s artwork is especially impressive and is mixed in with the rest of the décor perfectly.

Morgan House is perfectly positioned within a short drive to Huntsville businesses, Arrowhead PP, and Hidden Valley Ski Club. It is also a great spot to head out from for day trips into Algonquin. While we didn’t take advantage of their services, we knew that our hosts do arrange for excursions and treks into the wilderness. While we were there, there was also a couple glamping in a hot tent which was especially picturesque with candles in ice vases marking the path a beautifully lit canvas hot tent.

Spectacular weekend getaway

This place is absolutely lovely! Pam welcomed us very warmly and told us which would be the best spots to visit in Algonquin Park and around. Breakfast was excellent!
If we knew that this is such a lovely place, we would have stayed longer.

My mother in law and I were lucky enough to stay at this beautiful property over Family Day weekend as base camp for our Saturday in  Algonquin Park. The B & B is an animal lovers paradise! I had the pleasure relaxing by the fireplace with a good book and the resident Cali Cat purring on my lap. Stanley (the dog) was a great welcome party and check in was smooth, you really feel like part of the family while visiting. Pam the host and her husband also have a wonderful donkey, horse and some sheep. 

I cant rave enough about the location, It seems so tucked away in the forest yet it is just down the street from Huntsville. We had the twin bed room, it was small and cozy but the beds were comfortable, I was told the other 2 rooms may be larger, but it was perfect for what we needed it for! Bathroom was gorgeous!

Pam makes a great breakfast, not your usual fry up as others have said, and she was accommodating to any dietary requests. Both mornings we started the day with a hearty healthy breakfast. 

Thanks Pam for the wonderful weekend, I'm already looking for an excuse to come back up!
