Be VERY careful about booking your dates at this BnB! This summer I had to modify my dates, and was unable to do so. There were “no vacancies” for any of the dates I suggested! Yeah…right…two months in advance? 

Instead I was swindled out of over $200 in cancellation fees! Read the fine print on their website!!! Which, BTW, was different from the email reservation information, which was why I missed it!

Traveller beware!

Though we only stayed one night , we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - lovely grounds, nice little breakfast on a quiet spot on the island.  And in times of COVID-19 , we noted the cleanliness of the room and requirements for masks in place in common areas - we were comfortable with all precautions in place. 

Nice property on the island!

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights while visiting Ile D'orléans and Old Québec. Our original hotel reservation with a different hotel was lost and we were on the island at 11pm with nowhere to stay. We called the Auberge and the lovely hostess provided us a room at that late hour. We were served a delicous breakfast each morning (feel free to leave a tip for the excellent breakfast service.) The grounds are beautiful! Our room overlooked the river and had 2 rocking chairs on the porch for us to enjoy. Eric who is bilingual made our final day's breakfast and departure a delight. The owner is primarily French speaking with some English. My husband and I are learning French and she was very patient with and respectful towards us as we tried our best with the language. This is a great place to stay if you speak a little French and want to have some peace and quiet but still be close enough to explore Québec.  I definitely recommend! 

Cozy Country Inn

The view is spectacular, in the evening and in the early morning! Our room was quaint in decor, clean, functional and had an old country feel to it. Exactly what we expected. Breakfast is included. The blueberry muffins were still warm and delicious. 3 choices for breakfast: eggs, crepes or French toast. The apple crepes were exquisite. I don't drink coffee They made me a hot chocolate with milk! It was delicious. Service is wonderful and very attentive. A lovely experience. I would definitely stay here again. 

A wonderful stay

Ile d'orleans was named for the french king. Many french canadian families can trace their heritage to this island, selttled in the 17th century.Auberge Vieux Presbytere is situated in an old presbytery. The stone walls, wide plank floors and casement ceilings will transport you back to another time. Dinner is available in the summer. Dont miss the ostrich and bison.The owners went out of their way to provide a gluten free breakfast for my wife. Conveniently located only 20 minutes from old Québec city.
Parking is free and the view of the St-Lawrence from our room was fantastic.

A taste of old Quebec

We recently stayed 2 nights at Le Vieux Presbitaire.  We were really happy with our choice.  The host was really welcoming.  The room was really clean with an authentic historical ambiance.  The view of the St-Laurence river from our window was a bonus!!  The whole place is full of antiques so if you like that sort of thing you will be, like we were, really pleased with the charm and character that the place has to offer.  

Being an old home, we were happily surprised to have our own ensuite.  The water did turn cold in the shower whenever someone turned on the hot water elsewhere in the house though.  But that was to be expected in a house of that age.  The AC made the room nice and comfortable.  

The food was really good.   Breakfast was also really tasty, complete with muffin and fruit juice to accompany the main meal - crepes, traditional eggs with bacon, ham and sausage. (Made fresh with their own eggs)  We also took dinner there and we chose the house Trilogy of ostrich, bison and Wapiti cooked separately in their wonderful sauces.  We are now firm ostrich meat lovers!!

Excekkent B&B

Upon arriving at Ile d'Orleans we were anticipating a friendly greeting at Le Vieux  Presbytere, grumpy, lacking hospitality, abrupt, verging on rude was our greeting. Our room was clean, very small accommodations,basic linens and soaps, no T.V., radio, or wifi. Dinner was included in our package and was delicious, however being English with some French, we were ignored, and no interaction from our hostess was presented. If French is not your primary language do NOT  visit this Auberge. Our outrageous bill equalled a night at the Le Manoir Richeleau that warrants a 10+. Next time we will follow the Trip advisors reviews.
