Amazing experience! Cottages are clean and very well maintained. The beds are so comfortable that we actually asked what brand they are so that we could order one!!
The couple who own the property are nothing short of amazing and very accommodating. 
The cottage beside us was accessible and the entire property was just beautiful!
We cannot wait to come back next year!

Our new home away from home

Cozy little cabin in a somewhat wild environment just off the Cabot Trail, a short drive from  Inverness. Perfect half way stop in either direction of a Trail tour. 

We met the owner Adam who was very hospitable and willing to share information about the surrounding, area background, and attractions per our questions. He is a professional trail builder, and so no surprise these cabins offer multiple trails to explore. He also built a communal fire pit on the property for guests to use. 

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate during our stay so we had to pass this time around.  

Price was very reasonable for the accommodations and facility. We look forward to our next stay.

Great stop along the Cabot Trail

Traveling Nova Scotia for a week -- this was our favorite stay.  The cabin was perfect and very clean, the area beautiful, and the price was right.  We were able to hike around and walk to the beach--all from our cabin. We decided we should have stayed longer here.

Amazing Place - Perfect Stay

A great way to begin your journey to Cape Breton when you book at this place.  Anyone who has stayed there already knows about the special three legged critter/host "Bruce Willis!"  The cabins are clean, well equipped,  calming and quiet. The hosts are outstanding.  Another added delight is the clucking of the hens and the Inn Keeper JP delivering us a dozen fresh eggs for our enjoyment.  Both JP and Pat are seasoned hosts that  check frequently on your comfort level.  They are very knowledgeable about the area and can offer lots of advice on places to go and things to see. We took their advice and visited places that they recommended.  The old historic property has a gorgeous deck/terrace and garden.  It was a pleasure to sit there at night and enjoy a refreshing drink. A short walk across the way takes you a beautiful coastline with a sit at the picnic table to inhale the salt air with a morning cup of coffee!  Nothing like it.   This was a perfect break from our work-at-home routine and isolation. Social distancing was strictly observed by our generous and thoughtful hosts,  Attention to cleaning was obvious. The is a gem nestled at the base of the great Cape Smokey tucked somewhere between the sky, the mountains and the ocean with her own special piece of history and hospitality - a must stay during your roaming days "The Gypsy Maven" awaits.

A+ for ambiance, relaxation, beauty and hospitality!

Excellent stay at the Maven Gypsy!

Pat and JP are wonderful hosts in a sweet old inn at Wreck Cove CB. They joined us for evening tips and made a delicious blueberry pancake breakfast with lots of extras and good coffee. See the tripod cat and cross the street to the amazing beach! A great value and very fine people!!

Great place to stay on the Cabot Trail

Pat and JP are excellent hosts and run an excellent establishment.  The are well organized and need to be as they seated 10 for breakfast and everyone had a smile on their face. The beds were super comfortable and we had an excellent nights sleep. We highly recommend the Maven Gypsy. We were also pretty impressed with Bruce Willis, the visiting cat.

Fabulous Stay

My husband and I rode our bike cycles around the Cabot Trail and stayed at The Maven Gypsy on the second night. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Pat who showed us to our sweet cabin which has a comfortable bed and is well equipped. There is a veranda with lounge chairs and the cabins are very private. We were served spaghetti dinner on the porch of the main house by Pat and JP which was absolutely delicious and included real Parmesan cheese in a grater. We were also served a delicious salad from their garden and a home made dressing...for breakfast JP made blueberry pancakes with bacon and served it with a special maple syrup harvested by friends from a different province. The house is right across from a private beach where we spent time relaxing by the picnic table and searching for special rocks. Pat and JP and very special hosts which is a rare to find these days and they go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. I highly recommend The Maven Gypsy as it was our favourite  stay in all of Cape Breton. It is about 20 km drive or ride from Ingonish over Smokey Mountain and the views are breathtaking. Thank you Pat and JP for your hospitality ❣️

A real gem 

My parents and I rented a tastefully decorated, cozy and super clean cottage. The host Pat and JP were very welcoming. They accommodated us with our 4 little dogs which was a big relief for us. The location was great, close to a beautiful cobble beach where we sent our evening by the camp fire and just outside the national park which we went to everyday. It was a very relaxing stay! Thanks guys!

Relaxing Stay

We stayed here for one night while touring the Cabot Trail.  The cottage was very clean and comfortable.  We enjoyed relaxing on our deck and took the time to do the hiking trail on the property - there is a nice loo out point on the trail.  Would recommend.
