Thanks to positive reviews, we chose to stay here as our first night on the Cabot Trail, heading counter-clockwise. We were very pleased, room was clean and comfy, and had a decent sized fridge with freezer compartment compared to many other hotels. It was a nice change from the big chain hotels we had been staying at during our trip up to this point. We had a queen room, which was actually half of a cabin and had a few stairs to climb to access the room, but was not a problem for us. Too bad we didn't get to use the nice looking grill across from our cabin. The restaurant right across the street was great, thanks to our hosts recommentation.  The hosts were super friendly and offered some great tips for sightseeing, including the Freshwater Lookout Trail, right across from the park entrance which is just down the road and up a ton of steps.  Also recommended White Point, which was not at all on our radar, but turned out to be one of our favorite hikes. Great place to stay, location great for Franey Trail and Middle Head Trail also.

Pleasant stay

Located literally 1/3 mile from the Cape Breton Highlands Natiinal Park Entrance and situated across from a cute little restaurant (Main Street Restaurant), we found these cabins to be perfect for our purposes.   Let me be clear,.... it's a 2 star lodge BUT,.... it's clean and very convenient.   The well-known resort a mile into the park is much more expensive and seemed a bit rundown.  You can stay at these Skyline cabins and still take in the beauty of that resort during the day.
These cabins do not have ocean views but instead look at the mountains.  Peaceful.  I give this place 5 stars for what it is,... a clean, well positioned, priced-right 2-star lodge.   

Location,  Simple, Charming,  Clean

We had a great stay here!  Nice bed, great views!  Loved the location!  Would stay again!  We had a fridge and microwave.  It was quite and we had a good night sleep!  The check in process was good and the lady who checked us in was very nice!

A great place to stay in NS

So pleased with our choice for our 4 night stay on Cape Breton. Super clean and comfortable updated cabin. We had a detached cabin with covered deck which was fantastic as we were still able to sit outside when raining. Great position for visiting the National Park with a visitor centre within walking distance and right on the Cabot Trail. We ate at the restaurant across the road once which was good with friendly service but actually preferred to drive the 10mins to The Seagull which was fantastic overlooking the sea. What also made this a great choice was the super friendly, welcoming and helpful owners. They are great and they take great pride in the accommodation and welcome they offer, nothing was too much trouble. Would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Great choice for Cape Breton

We stayed one night. Nice layout of the facility small cabins spread throughout. Our cabin was nice and functional. We utilized the common area BBQ to cook our dinner for the evening. Local area was nice.  We were two couples in our mid 60s.

Great Value

Awesome, quiet, clean, fully stocked cabin.  We had a 1 bedroom with pullout sofa.  Covered porch with rectangle patio table & 4 chairs to sit out if it rains.  Privacy railing and made higher with lattice for privacy.  Inside pullout sofa, ready made with bedding and comfy pillows.  My friend slept on it and said it was comfy.  Bedroom was all made up with clean bedding and your choice of 4 pillows for your sleeping comfort.  Mattress was super comfy for me. 
Dresser - if you are staying long and like to unpack.  Kitchen had everything you needed - dishes, cutlery, cups & glasses & wine glasses even!  Sink with dish soap, dish cloth and tea towels.  Kettle, coffee perk with coffee supplied, full size fridge & counter 4 burner stove top. Washroom - walking shower with a seat.  Air conditioning 👍 and baseboards for chilly nights.  So quiet around for a peaceful sleep.  Great restaurant across the street.  Liquor store a short walk.  Would definitely stay here again!  I have to say again ... super clean!

Skyline Cabins - Ingonish, NS - Aug 2023

The cabins are updated and nice. Close to a lot of trails. You do share a wall like in a hotel. The "kitchenette" consists of a microwave and a large mini fridge. Cooking is not a choice if you wanted to save money in a spendy area. Hosts are nice and helpful. 

Ingonish base camp

We stayed only 1 night in September and were very happy with our Skyline Cabin.  The room was very clean, spacious, and quiet.  Nice sitting area outside on the front landing and free assigned parking.  Great wifi and TV.  Checkin was a breeze with very friendly staff.

Nice, Quiet Location

We booked 2 rooms, both were beautifully appointed,  clean and the bed was very comfortable.  The fridge and amenities were perfect for our needs. Very quiet place, we enjoyed the deck area. The owner was pleasant and gave us good tips about the surrounding towns and trails. Will be back!!

Updated, clean and comfortable 

Solid Accommodation with very cute and cozy cabins! Friendly and helpful owner with lots of advice and suggestions to make sure you don’t miss the highlights of the area. Rooms are very clean and functional: very comfortable beds, nice and bright bathroom with toiletries (and they even provided clothes in a plastic bag  to wipe/clean, instead of using towels - so cute and useful!). Microwave, mini-fridge, A/C, wifi, coffeemaker...Everything you need, and everything is clean! We really enjoyed our bbq dinner on the cozy porch of our cabin, with immaculately clean BBQ (there were several all over property). Convenient parking in designated areas by your cabin. Check in and check out was a breeze!
We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend cozy Skyline Cabins!
