If you are looking for the perfect campground to rest and relax while you are in Cape Breton this is the place. You can sit by the Bras d’Or and take in the scenery or just sit and relax by your camper.  

Seeing as Baddeck is centrally located on Cape Breton we used it as home base for 10 days to explore and it was the best decision. 

The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming.  Very clean campground, showers are huge, clean and refreshing.

Well worth paying a bit more to have peace and quiet as opposed to paying less and having all the issues of other campgrounds. Very quiet in the evenings.

We recommend this campground for sure.

Peace and quiet

We found this campground by accident. Right off the Cabot Trail, it's a beautiful waterfront location and the service was exceptional. We ended up extending our stay because there is so much to do in the area. Their showers were the best we've had. The owners went out of their way to help us out - I can't recommend them more highly!

Cabot Trail camping

Just got back from Baddeck and it is so beautiful there. We stayed at Bras D’or campground in their deluxe camping cabins. Really enjoyed that we were the first cabin closest to the lake. Beds were a little hard but screened in porch was great. Deluxe means that there is a bathroom and shower in there. There are shower facilities the the campground also. As well as laundry. Only stayed 2 nights so didn’t use or see these facilities.

I stayed here for 2 days in cabin “ C” absolutely loved it :) very clean ...showers and bathroom very close by :) 
Great price :) 
Would definitely  recommend  this spot to my friends and family :)

A clean campsite near a beautiful lake. The owners are very helpful and having been there sometime are now well versed in hurricane survival!  The showers are large and clean. the toilets are a bit small but kept very clean.  Sites are level and well kept.  Baddeck itself is well worth visiting.
The campground is easy to find as it is on the main highway.  This is a good place as a base to explore the Cabot Trail

Beautiful setting on Lake Bras d'Or, very clean and neat. Owners John and Betty very helpful and supportive during the hurricane. Had "survival party" in the club house on Sunday. Close to Baddeck and the Cabot Trail. Very peaceful. Would definitely recommend this campground. Jim and Arlene, Meriden, Ct

Another Hurricane Dorian survivor

Nice relatively level full service sites. Great view of the lake and easy walk to lake, close to Baddeck and great base location for exploring the surrounding beautiful area. Owners John and Betty were most helpful during the hurricane and after with recommendations for safety and site seeing adventures. Good value.

We needed a rental car, and they helped set us up with Avis.  Avis dropped a car at the campground for us.  Very nice that campground knew how to fix that up.  Lake pretty.  They weren't quite ready for the season yet; we were early.  Had an electrical outage one morning.

Close access to Baddeck and the Cabot Trail is a definite plus. Back in site was level, small sitting area beside our RV with picnic table. Clean facilities and good laundry. Cool, rainy weather during our stay so didn’t use the pool. Don’t let the website fool you with ‘launch a boat or kayak’ to enjoy the water. No boat launch, and the only way to the water is 150 meter downhill walk through a grassy meadow, ending in a rocky path to the water. Lovely view of the water that I looked longingly at, wishing I could enjoy it more.

A fine campground close to thr Cabot Trail

I booked a deluxe cabin online in May with plans to stay 3 nights. 
In June I received a call from the owner (I assume) to inform me of a booking error. The deluxe cabin was double booked therefore my wife and I would have to stay in a basic cabin the first night. No biggie, mistakes happen. 
We checked in and upon entering the basic cabin we found it to be very clean but there were black ants everywhere. We killed at least a dozen before bedtime. 
Not much room inside and a rock hard mattress to sleep on. No fire pit outside as advertised but it rained anyway so no harm no foul. 
A pedestrian path runs along side the cabin so we got to listen to folks go by all night. 
The next day we moved into deluxe cabin #3. This one has its own bathroom with shower but the cabin is very cramped. Not much room to move about and I couldn’t image staying in it with kids or another couple. 
The bed was slightly softer but seemed to have an arch near the top around shoulder height so when laying down your chest tend to stick out. Not sure what that was about.  🤔
This one was clean also and ant free! It’s a bit quieter too as it’s slightly further from the highway. 
The restrooms and showers for the campers without bathrooms are also very clean and well maintained.
The campsites and cabins are only a minute from the lake. 
It wasn’t a terrible visit by any means but we likely wouldn’t return.
