Fortune Hotel room 115 and 126

We found this hotel in Kamloops to be a friendly and welcoming hotel. The first appearance is of a clean and peaceful place. 

We were greeted by a lady at the front desk. She explained all the features that they have and gave us pool towels. 

The room we had was of a good size with a kitchen area, good size TV and as we were on the ground floor a reasonable view. The room was very clean. 

The swimming pool (max depth of 4’6”) and hot tub were again very clean (it did have a sauna but we didn’t use it) and was very welcoming at the end of a hot day of travelling and visiting. 

We stayed at this motel for 1 night originally and after a discussion we decided to stay here again. This time we were given room 126 (above 115) and this room was roadside however we didn’t hear any road noise. As with the first room, this room was also very clean and welcoming. 

The price was reasonable and we would definitely recommend it.

Great place to go 

after quite the adventure from manitoba,saskatchewan and Alberta thuis was our last stop returning home to Duncan bc.My husband had stayed here before and liked the motel so we stayed again.I found the room to be such a sweet little room with a fridge and coffee maker and was so quiet and peaceful we will definitely stay there again when we go threw there again

Stayed for a ball tournament and loved it! Nice little motel and super clean. We stayed in a room with a kitchen and had everything we needed. Close to ball diamonds and shopping. Would definitely stay here again!

Awesome little motel!

I was heading up to Sun Peaks for a ski weekend and needed a place to stay the night before. We arrived and found the staff to be friendly, the walkways clear of snow and the room was very clean and warm. The price was great and even better, was having good bathroom products provided and high quality towels. No tiny plastic shampoo or miniature soaps here! The building is made of concrete block and we didn't hear the traffic like we expected. This was a great start to our weekend away, the value was excellent and we would absolutely stay there again.

Dropped by for a night on my way to Sunpeaks

Cheap, clean, fridge, coffee/tea, microwave. Nice modern bathroom although the motel room itself a little dated. Set back from road so no traffic noise, aircon and location good with local amenities over the road. Reception could have been a little more welcoming but you get what you pay for i guess?

Not too bad at all

This was our first time staying here at the Fortune Motel.  This place is a wonderful place, and is very clean.  For those people that are wanting to stay on the North Shore of Kamloops, this is a must place!  Lots of opportunity for exploration and lots of very good restaurants and recreation just steps away from this wonderful place!  During the summer, there is easy access to their indoor pool.  If you plan on visiting the pool during the winter months, you will need to mention to the front desk clerk that you're wanting to swim and they will open it up for you!  I would definitely stay here again if we want to stay on the North Shore.

Wonderful Location and Centrally Located

Clean, older hotel with fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, large screen TV. As a solo, older female, I appreciated being put next to the  Office area on the lower level. Beds are hard, as are the pillows. Directly across the street from McDonald's, Wendy's, a very walkable mall with grocery store, white spot, Indian, seafood, Japanese and and an  assortment of dining establishments. If you're tired and do not want to drive around looking for somewhere for dinner, this is an ideal location. Recommended on many levels, the next investment needs to be in the mattress and pillows. The nasty lady at the front desk has been replaced by a very pleasant and welcoming soul.

Good value, handy for dining

The good: clean and pleasant room. Conveniant location.
The bad: no breakfast (which we knew before ordering), tiny soap bar that feels like will last for two showers only (but smells really good), no plastic liner for the ice bucket. None of those is critical and would have been easy to ignore or work around.
The ugly: Front desk attitude. We ordered via booking.com, which seems to be the only way to book online. Defined that we are 2 adults and three teenagers. The final booking screen had a "best for 4 adults and one kid under 17 y old" which should have covered our case. The pull down menu allowed up to 4 guests. Saved rhe screen capture and called the motel before ordering. We got their reluctant agreement to honor the 5 occupants as per booking.com screen. However, my husband went to ask the front desk for an extra sheet for our inflatable matress for the 5th person and was rudly informed that we are too many in the room and they have no extra sheets. After some arguments, the sheets were conjured. For the many years we use an inflatable matress in various hotels, we sometimes forget our own sheet and had never recieved such a responce. Next time we are in Kamloops (In three days...) we will find a more hospitable hotel to stay at.
