The staff are always so helpful. The hotel space is modern, always impeccably clean, and I’m treated with kindness. I usually travel alone, but this hotel would be great for families or hockey teams!  The gym is well equipped and pool is warm.  The breakfast buffet is an added benefit, and I always hit up the blue berry waffles.  Thank you to the entire team at the Canalta!

A great business or family stop !

Heather, and the rest of the staff at the Kindersley CanAlta offered customer service next to none.  We were a group of almost 80 attending a family reunion in the town and at the last minute (less than a week) we were looking for accommodations.  Heather was able to look after everyone’s requests for rooms with such pleasantness and efficiency. We made good use of a hospitality room at the hotel and lots of our group used the pool, the hot tub and the games room.  A wonderful breakfast was included with the room. The whole experience couldn’t have been better!  Highly recommend!

Exceptionally Good Customer Service

Probably the nicest gym/pool area I have stayed at for some time while Traveling around Saskatchewan. Breakfast is very good too. Pretty close to a 5 star experience. Rooms were clean and well stocked. The only thing is the steam room didn’t get quite hot enough but that’s pretty minor.

I guess I'm rating this as average because--for the price, which is also "average"--that is exactly what this hotel stay was for me.

The main thing I'm looking for when traveling on the road is a clean hotel/room.
This hotel was clean as was the room.
Beyond that, and being clean is no small feat in this day and age it seems, the property was just average.

we got a "pet friendly" room on the second floor and were grateful to be offered this option.

The lobby/elevator areas smelled like a urinal cake to me. I have no idea exactly what that smell might be but I'm guessing it's some sort of disinfectant used in cleaning.
So, yeah--back to the clean factor. They are obviously cleaning! Yay!

My wife loved the pillows and she is a fussy sleeper. Score one for Canalta.
I felt they were adequate as was the entire bed.

One of the biggest concerns was, when we were walking our dog outside, there was an extremely high pitched whine coming from what i think was some sort of venting unit on the front of the building above and to the right of the pool windows. I would guess the volume at somewhere around 80+ db.
Loud.
Our room window was right above it.
Uh oh....
In the room I could hear it but just barely--the insulation/soundproofing must be very thorough because this property is also (basically) right on the highway--but the soundproofing worked so sleeping turned out to be OK.

The bathroom (again) was clean but one thing my wife noticed was that the single-person use moisturizer provided had been opened and used by a previous guest. Not the biggest deal but in the time of COVID (or "post COVID"--we are all changed...) this meant that she did not want to use it.
The hand soap was sealed and i was grateful for that. 

I simply don't have much else to say.
We were there simply to sleep for one night and did not avail ourselves of the pool or the complimentary breakfast. 

It's average.
Adequate.

Is this Canalta the BEST option for staying in Kindersley? 
I have no idea and simply didn't have the bandwidth to either deep-dive into the options on offer (we booked 3 days before departure and this was amidst the hurricane of our preparations for leaving our house for 3 weeks) or the bravery to take a chance on less reviewed property near by.
This was #1 (or near to it) on the Tripadvisor ratings so we jumped.
And it was OK.


Adequate and maybe (*maybe*) that's enough.

This trip was horrendous but the staff truly seem to value the customer and not the money! They have completely fixed the issues and apologised for things beyond their fault!! Will stop in here again!!!

Awesome staff!!

The hotel was very clean, and the fitness center was excellent. Our room was comfy and we could control the temperature so we had a nice cool room to sleep in. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly. This hotel is definitely a great place to stay. 

Great place to stay!

We hit some terrible weather coming back from Calgary at Christmas time. We had to stop & picked Kindersley Canalta.
We were met by friendly staff, let by Joy at the front desk. She made sure that we had everything that we needed. If anything wasn’t right she did all that she could to make things right.
The hotel filled quickly as the roads closed and some of their staff were unable to go home. However everyone was so good to the guests. Some of the best staff I have seen in my travels. It’s not the big things, it’s really caring how you are. My husband was hurt from a fall and the staff I met checked how he was whenever I was out & about.

I stopped at the front desk on my way out to let Joy know how good the staff had been. We appreciated it all.

Storm Stuck in Kindersley 

Outside looks new but the rooms could use a slight upgrade. The bed sunk in as soon as I sat on it. The hallway was also freezing cold and the room was just as cold. Not sure if the thermostat was correct. Had it at 25°C and it was still quite chilly. Worst sleep I’ve had in awhile. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly.

Sleeping in the arctic

The beds were so hard, and the plastic mattress protector were really obvious and noisy anytime you moved. The floors in the lobby were dirty and overall the hotel felt a bit grimy. Appreciated the small kitchen, but wishes it would have had a normal fridge instead of tiny bar fridge.

Uncomfortable Hard Beds

We stayed just one night but wish we needed to have stayed longer.  One of the best rural hotels we've stayed at.  Service was excellent, staff were very friendly and willingly helpful.  Amenities were perfect.  It's the little things that count, and that's what had us so impressed.  Fire pit and barbq in the back with a great little sitting area outside.  Games room, with free arcade games, check!  Beautiful pool and hot tub.  Great finish with a nice breakfast.
Highly recommend!
