I have never stayed anywhere in the world with views like it. What an absolute beautiful place. The people were all amazing. The food was amazing.  And our lodge well where do I start honestly breathe taking. The animals dogs, horses and the paddocks were amazingly clean.  To say I would recommend it well let’s just say it must go on your bucket list 

We spent a few nights in our trailer staying at this beautiful ranch. Corrine and Christoph were friendly and kind hosts who made sure we enjoyed our stay. We did a short trail ride around the stunning property with other guests and our kids (ages 9 and 11) loved it. We also joined the other guests for two dinners and enjoyed meeting people travelling from Germany and Belgium. I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

I have just spent 6 days staying on this ranch and deeply saddened to have left. The ranch and surrounding areas are absolutely stunning and Christoph, Coreen and the team where wonderful. I had been travelling alone and they looked after me (along with a wonderful Swish-German family.)

I stayed in one of the log cabin that had all the creature comforts like WiFi, hot shower and heating to make it toasty in the evening.

Meals are eaten up in the main house with other guests and staff. Breakfast is a continental breakfast with a second prepared dish like bacon and eggs or pancakes. Lunch is a lunch bag of a sandwich, fruit, drink and snack. Evening meals are tasty and beautifully presented three course meals including steak, pork ribs, risotto and pasta. I had a couple dietary issues which they went out of their way to cater for.

The horse treks where absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of the stay. It was lovely riding with other visitors & staff and they took photos to capture the experience. The lakes are beautiful for swimming in and boating on

A thing for people to be aware of...This is not a 5 star resort... This is a ranch run by a lovely team, helping to make you feel at home. Things do not always 'run to time' and other amenitie like shops are 40minutes drive away. This in my opinion is very much part of its charm but others may have an issue with this.  As for myself, I can not say enough good things about this place and hope to one day visit again.

I spent a week at the Tera Nostra Ranch heliskiing with Bella Coola Heli Sports. Christoph and his family hosted us at their beautiful property. The lodge was incredible and very comfortable. The service and food were top notch, complete with locally sourced wine from the Okanagan Valley.  Christoph has a homemade outdoor stone/brick pizza oven which all the guests loved. The hot tub has nice views and currently they are building a sauna. They even took the guests ice fishing! I recommend visiting Tera Nostra especially for heli skiing and also in the summer for horseback riding.  Thank you Christoph and family.

We are just back from a 2 week road trip around BC , the highlight for us was the stay here. We are a family with 2 young boys (aged 7 and 9) and had a fantastic 2 nights at the ranch. The accommodation in the main lodge was great, really comfortable and clean rooms as well a nice places to play games, read and hang out.

As we have younger children we did a only did short horse ride around the property lead by Christoph and Julia, the views were spectacular all around the ranch. We also made the most of the many kayaks and canoes on the lake which was also great to swim in.

The food was great, especially the home made pizzas in the pizza oven, they also make some nice packed lunches for you all each day. We felt really welcomed by Corrine and Christoph who really went out out of their way to ensure we felt at home. The hospitality was first class.

I would love to return here and would highly recommend this ranch and the Chilcotin region in general, amazing scenery and really friendly people.



Just spent 5 days at the guest ranch and cannot say enough good things.  The location and setting is beautiful.  There are lots of things to do including hiking, horseback riding, canoeing and more as well as simply relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, meadows and lake or the star filled skies in the evening.  The food was excellent and the owners and the staff were engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about all their guests.  Book your stay, you will love it.

We absolutely loved it and were very sad when we had to leave after 2 nights. Chrisoph and Corinne (and their team!) are amazing hosts who really take care of their guests. We came with our RV, they had us hooked up with electricity and water. They have a little shack with toilet and hot water shower for the campers. 
You park your camper amidst the horses - on the pasture...! How great is that.

We can only recommend to spend a few nights at Terra Nostra. 

We had two rides which were amazing. We had a blast. 

Despite parking our RV we ate dinner with all the „hotel“-guests. One big table, family style and delicious food!

I just spent 4 wonderful days at Terra Nostra. Arrival was a bit awkward as everyone was in the middle of having dinner. However this passed really quick as the host quickly made more pizza in the stone oven for us and made us sit down. Everyone is eating together at a big table which always made for very interesting dinner conversations with people from all kinds of ways of life, as on top of the guests there also tend to be neighbors dropping by.
Breakfast was plentiful and there was freshly baked bread every morning! For lunch guests get a lunch bag which was easily enough to get through the day. Anyway I’m sure if someone stays hungry he can always drop by the kitchen to get a snack fixed.
There’s horseback riding, canoeing, walking trails etc.
The hosts are very helpful with if you want to do a day trip, give you maps and detailed directions.
All in all if you want to glean a little insight in the chilcotin way of life, you are most certainly not wrong at Terra Nostra!

Our family of 5 (Mum, Dad + 3 kids ages 7,10 +12) from the UK stayed here for 6 days and we all fell in love with Terra Nostra Guest Ranch. If we could come back tomorrow, we would. We wanted somewhere where in the middle of nowhere where we could go riding, walking, canoeing and have some quality 'family time'. This place did not disappoint. We found that most people only stayed a couple of nights but if you enjoy outdoor activities this place is worth staying longer.
Activities - horse riding - what could be better than riding beautiful horses in amazing scenery? Our family had 2 more experienced riders and 3 novice riders. We went on different rides based on our ability ie a slow beginners ride and a faster ride for those that could ride. They provided riding hats and cowboy boots for the whole family (the style is Western riding). The horses live in the field in-between the lake and ranch house so when the horses are not being ridden, the kids loved going down to the field and being able to go and fuss the horses and foals whenever they wanted. Horse riding costs extra but is worth it. Our daughter was also able to help groom the horses and get them ready for the rides on a couple of days which she loved just as much as the riding.
Water activities - these are included in the price. We essentially had the lake to ourselves when we stayed. There are kayaks, canoes and sailboards available (and a variety of life jackets in a range of sizes). You don't have to book to use these, you just walk across the field to the boat house and help yourself. The lake is safe for swimming and our kids had an amazing time just being able to mess about in the water for hours with the canoes.
Walks - there are (free) maps available from Terra Nostra which show local walks. One walk to Inspiration Point was amazing. You started by kayaking from 1 sided of the lake to the other and then followed a route to a fabulous viewpoint. It took most of the days for us (if you don't have kids it might not take as long). Again, we had the walk to ourselves. It wasn't like walking in the Lake District which at time can seem quite busy. You really did feel like you were in the middle of nowhere which I guess we were.
Mountain bikes - again these were free to use. Only our youngest child was too small to use these but our older kids had great fun cycling round the ranch.
Evenings for the kids - there is no mobile phone signal/wifi so this place is great for getting the kids outside making their own entertainment. There was a rope swing, giant Jenga, fences to climb and a dog to play with. The kids were safe to roam around the ranch and the adults could keep an eye on them from the veranda of the guest ranch.  Even our most electronic addicted child kept himself happily entertained all evening.
Food - we were worried about this before we visited as we still have 2 kids at the very fussy stage but all our kids enjoyed the food. Breakfast was served in the main ranch house (continental breakfast + something cooked each day eg bacon or eggs or pancakes). Lunch is provided as a packed lunch. If your kids are fussy its worth just asking them to make plain sandwiches the day before. The evening meal is eaten all together outside the ranch house and was often something from the giant BBQ (only 1 choice available either meat for the carnivores or a veg option if you have asked for veggie meals).  Later in our stay there was a campfire ban in BC so the BBQ was out of use but the food (plain fresh food eg spag bol) was still enjoyed by the kids. 
Accommodation – due to unforeseen circumstances we had to extend our stay here by a couple of days so we got to try out 2 different types of accommodation. Our planned accommodation was in the main guest ranch and our family had the top floor to ourselves – 2 en-suit rooms. The rooms were spacious, clean, had comfortable beds, there was always hot water and there were great views from the windows. We also stayed in a 2 bed cabin which again had amazing views, was clean and comfortable. Both types of accommodation were fab.
Wildlife – we saw a black bear, deer and beavers on the way here on highway 20. Although one of the other guests ran into a black bear on a morning jog here so beware there are bears about. There were also bald eagles on the lake and plenty of opportunity to see lots more. Biting flies; there are plenty of these about! We are from Scotland so we are used to midges. I would still say the midges in Scotland are worse due to the swarms you get, but the flies here were persistent. You do need to bring insect repellent (we later learned from our friends that Smidge is worth buying).  
Hospitality – The ranch is owned by Corinne and Christoph and they couldn’t have done more to ensure we had a great time. As I said at the start if we ever have opportunity to come back to Canada we will definitely visit Terra Nostra again. We had an amazing family holiday here.

Super family getaway!

Was a bit skeptical on arrival as there didn’t seem to be a clear arrival check in process. However the hosts were very welcoming.

Cake and coffee was available free of charge on day 1 but not day 2.

Had a nice paddle on lake Clearwater using the free canoes.

Dinner on evening 1, though tasty was sparse and there was no where else to get extra food. Had a really great evening with very good company of other guests and Christophe playing guitar.

Next day great trail ride with Coreen. 

Second evening’s dinner was poor.

My summary would be that these are really lovely people who look after the animals very well and have created a great atmosphere for guests. However they could do with raising their game on the food hygiene, quality and presentation side (for example the male helper in the red and black checked shirt was serving food in the same outfit he had been riding horses / working in(!)). 

I would recommend because I think the hosts are genuine, diligent and welcoming and will put any small shortcomings right - maybe as guests we would have liked a little more ‘polish’ as regards food, otherwise good and met three star rating and more of a ‘Canadian ranch’ experience. 

P.s: consider binning the wacky home made bucket peanut butter on tin-can mouse trap in the little cabin near the stables - it doesn’t reflect who you are!
