We had 2 nights at this lovely B&B and altho we didn't speak much French, our hosts were just lovely and tried hard to communicate with us.  As my husband did speak a little French, we were able (with the help of a French dictionary) to communicate ~ so no problem.  The hosts were very kind and provided us with the most BEAUTIFUL breakfast ~ wow ! So much to choose from ~ large selection of fresh fruit, eggs and bacon were available if you wanted it, and the crepes were delicious, along with the variety of homemade jams and freshly baked muffins etc.  The room we had was spacious, with a bathroom next door.   We would thoroughly recommend this B&B and please don't be put off by not speaking French ~ we managed and the Hosts were so welcoming ~ they couldn't do enough for us.  Only down-side was their recommendation to Le St. Laurent Cafe where we had an awful meal x 2 !  Great disappointment.

Le Port d'Attache ~ our stay !

My spouse and I spent 3 nights at this B and B recently and we were very happy with our decision to do so! We speak next to no French yet our hosts were very gracious as we pieced together our words to have conversations each day. Every morning at the breakfast table we enjoyed more food than a person could possible eat with a large selection of fresh fruit. Eggs were available on demand and the crepes were to die for (not to mention the homemade jams and baked goods). We met different guests over our 3 days and almost all spoke English and French which helped us communicate with our hosts. The hosts had lots of tourist information and gave recommendations of places to eat nearby. The best spot by far was right in the village - Le St. Laurent Cafe. (Loved the maple syrup chicken - the chef's secret recipe). The rooms are clean, lots of seating outside too. With wifi, we brought our own iPad to watch shows at night but we were so busy we really weren't at the B and B much for down time anyway. Please don't let the other negative English review dissuade you from staying at this lovely home, with equally lovely, generous hosts!

English speaking guest felt completely welcomed and at ease

We felt the reviews were not as we experienced. The view of the river was only possible if you went to the road. The tree obstructed views from the property. The rooms were tight but clean. There was a common sitting room but basically uncomfortable wooden chairs. The breakfast was quite good but out of the many B&B's we have experienced we never had to share the breakfast table with the hosts. As we do not speak French and the hosts did not speak English it was a challenge for us. We stayed 2 nights and the second night was the biggest disappointment. When we got back from a long event filled day we just wanted to sit down and have a night cap and watch the news. Much to our surprise the place was overbooked and they placed a mattress on the floor in the sitting room with a guest sleeping there. I understand that a family showed up with more people than they had booked for. Bottom line is it sucked for us. I do not recommend this B&B if you do not speak French. We would be hard pressed to rate this more than a 3 star or 6 out of 10.
