When we went to Algonquin Park, we ate every night at this small restaurant, very good. They make delicious chicken wings. The reception and service are efficient. It's the only late-night whitney restaurant.

Pleasant.

My friend and I got to the restaurant about 5:30 p.m. on our way to our cottage. We pleasantly asked a few questions one about tea, followed by curt rude patronizing tone by the waitress; I tried to take a deep breathe. My friend then asks if the spaghetti includes meat balls and gets told "read the menu" and the horrible tone and curt responses continued. I was stunned; my friend is incredibly patient but looked at me and said didn't care if nothing else open he couldn't stay and we left. I went back out of courtesy to tell the waitress that her service was horrible. She looked baffled and said what part. ALL OF IT. as we were leaving we spoke to a man who worked there and asked what happened. We told him; he apologized but did nothing to rectify the situation. I thought it may have been racially based but when we talked to many other nice incredible folks in the area they confirmed this place has a horrible reputation for service. Customer beware and just on principle since they made no effort to rectify the situation will NEVER eat there or enter their premises again. Appalling and totally unacceptable.

WORST customer service ever

Had a really nice relaxing dinner. Our waitress was so helpful and there when we needed her. We both had hamburgers and fried which were perfectly cooked and the ff were fried crispy, perfect in my book. The beer list was small but good choices and a full bar.

The Hostel is located in the basement of a simple restaurant. Attention: Two of the four rooms are windowless. Flexible carpet floors, dirty kitchen drawers, rotten cabinets, cracked cabinet doors, mold and hair in the two common (windowless) toilets, broken window slides (stick tape necessarily patched) in our fourth room, oil-inking wind (used as bicycle shovels)... Up to 22 full-service hostel rooms on the ground floor (one of the few restaurants with liquor shovels on the premises) and the corresponding noise level in the hostel room - all of the dishes were used in the bathroom.

It is unquestionable.

Stopped by this restaurant on Canada day long weekend. Service was amazing and great prices.. everyone that worked there was very friendly and nice. Food presentation was awesome and tasted good! Overall a great experience!!

Amazing comfort food

Stopped for lunch on a Saturday March 2nd/19. Busy with snowmobilers as usual in the winter.  40 min wait , no big deal, did not get water , I had to go to the bar for water & refills, didn’t get the coffee I asked for , the food took over an hour for garbage. I would of kept riding to the next town or went across the street.  This was the worst lunch experience I’ve had as a snowmobiler in my life.   1/10 service , 3/10 food
Only about 60 spots, They  must do better.

Mad Musher = BRUTAL SERVICE

We had supper 3 nights in a row here.  The menu was varied, interesting and consistently good.  My favourite was the venison stew after a cold, rainy damp day out in the park.  Portions were generous and tasty.  They were extremely busy all weekend and on two of the three nights they had run out of the daily special by the time we came in. However, we were a group of seven coming in each night around 8 pm so that was not too surprising.   Everyone's  food arrived in a timely manner and was hot.

Consistently good food

The food and service here was great! Steaks and pasta cooked to perfection, and service was good. Lovely wildlife pictures adorn the walls, and we made a point of eating here as often as possible. Very good value, can highly recommend

Great food!

Great atmosphere sitting on the sun porch. Nice view of the river. Very relaxing. Nice selection of entrees. Our waiter was a lovely young man. Food was great! Would definitely come again when in area. Peaceful.

Wonderful lunch! 

The rooms are under the restaurant so it's noisy. The double bed room (small) has no windows but it was clean. The bathroom was clogged and all night, strange noises above the ceiling like rats? mice? squirrels? The person who hosted us was no help in the activities of Algonquin Park. However, the restaurant is not bad and the food is right, as well as the service. Too bad they don't offer breakfast! For me it's a simple motel... one night maximum!
