I stayed as part of a conference so I had booked my own room and self paid  for one evening and then my conference was paid for the next two days. I gave them a heads up asking to be in the same room for the duration of my stay but that did not happen because they have one wing for conferences and another for individual books.  It was a bit annoying to have to move after one night and I think could have easily been avoided since my room was not booked the night before.  I was able to get into my second room at 7 am the next day which I was glad about so that I had a place to put my luggage before my conference. Breakfast was at my conference so I cannot speak to the breakfast options.  

Ontario Hall is a very nice place.  It is quite aesthetically pleasing and open and spacious in the lobby area. There’s always staff manning the front desk and they were typically helpful when I asked questions. 

Some things that are good to know if you stay there: 
-the rooms are small and even I was a little claustrophobic.  I wandered and hung out in the lobby frequently with my computer to enjoy the open feeling. 
-just a few minutes walk on the corner is a Subway restaurant, Barakat (middle eastern food), a 7-11 (which was super handy).  
-in the basement level there’s vending machines and silverware dispensers and lots of “food court” type seating if you want to bring meals back to eat at the dorm.  
-in the lobby area there’s a espresso/coffee machine which was decent in a pinch and there’s also a freezer of bagged ice for the taking so if you want to bring a cooler or anything, ice is plentiful 
-each floor/wing also has a lounge area with seating, television and microwave
-I brought my own blanket for the bed after hearing about the weird comforter.  I also brought sheets just in case.  The sheets were fine but yes the blanket was weird.  
-my room was clean and I have no complaints at all about it other than yes it’s small.  Oh and WiFi was spotty, at best.

Clean and Economic Dorm Room

The Western Bed and Breakfast has two options available.  The Ontario Hall is for short stays and London Hall for longer stays, 1 month or more.  I stayed at London Hall.  These are fairly newly built suites, which can have 2-3 bedrooms with washroom and full kitchen.  For the privacy, I booked both rooms in a two bedroom suite.  It still ended up being much cheaper than hotel and Airbnb options.  The room was comfortable with good space.  The suite conveniently had it's own thermostat that you can adjust for AC/heat.  Each of the bedroom has a double bed with closet, drawers and a desk.  You have to supply your own hangers.  Kitchen was useful with full fridge, stove and microwave.  However, you also have to bring your own kitchen supplies, including plates, bowls, utensils and any pots/pans you want to use.  Wifi connection was good with no issues during my stay.  There is housecleaning service, however, only once every two weeks alternating with garbage pick-up.  You can also throw out your own garbage using the garbage chute.

There is a free parking included as well, however, one inconvenience is that it is located 5-10 min walk away, across the street next to Ontario hall.  There is a parking lot in front of London Hall, but you have to pay at the meter (however, unofficially, I heard from some staff that the parking officers don't check on weekends). 

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at London Hall.  It was quiet, comfortable and met my needs.  I would say this would be good for families with the kitchen and living space, however, the double beds can be small, depending on family size.  

This place is certainly worthwhile to consider.  I would return again if I am looking for a long stay place in London during the summer months.

London Hall - Comfortable dorm experience with more privacy than Ontario Hall

You need to know you are going to a dorm and not a hotel.
The dorms are in good condition and the building is fairly new. Staff was nice and welcoming. The ratio is 4 people to a bathroom but thankfully there was no one in the other room. There is no fridge or kitchenette available in the dorms.
Breakfast is included and good with lots of fruit options, cereals and breads.
Beds have fairly new foam mattresses but I guess they are not for everyone, we both woke up with lower back pain.
Free parking.
Only soap is provided, bring your own toiletries.

University dorm

I stayed at Ontario Hall on Sarnia road. The rooms are dorms that are available during summer because students are not there. Not a big problem, but the lack of privacy due to shared bathrooms is something to be prepared for. I remember that the prices were also high. Breakfast was good, but I guess little bit on the unhealthy side with muffins etc. The location is good for the University but not that great for the city center.

The fitted sheet is very thin and the blanket looks like foam-made. The parking access doesn’t work and the gate control guy is not willing to help. I went back the front desk twice after a long way through a lot of stairs. The gate controller said at beginning he is not able to open the gate for me, and then after I went up and came down the gate control opened both in-out lanes. I have never met this kind of gate controller who loves to see me run up and down out of breath. I will never come back and not recommend this accommodations. Both gate controller and front dest should be trained property before they start to work. Oberviously they were not got well trained.
