We’ve stayed at the Cajun Cabins so many times we’ve lost count. The cabins are clean and cozy and well stocked for longer stays. The location is perfect for enjoying the best of summer in Cape Breton: nature at the Highlands Park and music at Broad Cove and the Barn at the Normaway. Angela the host is super friendly and helpful and keeps the place sparkling. We have reservations for next year and we’ll be back!

We were looking for a comfortable place to stay in order to be close to the Margaree River.  The Cajun Cedar Cabins were perfect.  Nice cabins with our own kitchenette and gas grill on the porch.  Clean, neat and well appointed.  AC was available, but we didn’t need it at all.  Most occupants were fly fishermen as well.  The  property has an easy walk access to the Margaree and located within an easy drive to other spots.

Well worth a return!!  Would recommend to friends, family and fishermen.

Wonderful Cozy Cabins

The Cajun Cedar Log Cottages are ideally located in the beautiful Margaree Valley.  The setting for and the panoramic view from these meticulously cared for cottages is second to none.  Your host, Angela, puts a lot of love into the cleanliness, decorating, maintenance and outfitting of each and every one of her cottages.  My stay was so enjoyable and relaxing that my wife and I are returning on July 4th for another week’s stay with Angela at her first class Cajun Cedar Log Cottages.  We highly recommend them to all travellers wishing to have the best possible experience during their stay in the oh so special Margaree Valley.

Pleasant stay!

These cabins are stunning! I stayed in the single cabin with my partner and small dog. Angela was extremely accommodating, not to mention our stay was during Hurricane Fiona. She made sure we were safe, prepared, and cozy the entire time. The property is large and well maintained which our dog loved playing in. The location is a short drive to Cheticamp and Iverness.  Highly recommend staying here for a few nights :)

Wonderful Stay

What to say about Cajun Cedar Log Cottages that hasn’t already been said?  Good question. Mostly, I have to say “Ditto”, except when it comes to what the entitled people have complained about.  Read the great reviews, and base your decision to stay here on those.  Ignore the rest.

We booked our 1 bedroom cottage, as a pet-friendly home base for our visit to Cape Breton. We are spending two weeks in this lovely place. The location is quiet and serene, yet not far from great beaches, some excellent restaurants, and the famous Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Even Sydney is only 1.5 hours away.

The cottage was spotless when we arrived, with plenty of little touches to make life easier ... dish soap, coffee filters, all linens, toilet paper, paper towels, bar soap, and salt & pepper (in case you forgot to bring yours), and a small propane bbq are all provided. The bed is as comfortable as our higher-end Euro-top at home. Internet is what you’d expect for a rural area in Cape Breton.  Yes, the stove in our cabin is an older coil model, but it’s fully functioning and has suited us well so far. Remember, this is rural and quaint, so if you’re looking for big city amenities like you’d find in Ottawa, Toronto or Barrie, look elsewhere.  But if you’re looking for charm, a quaint log cottage to call your own while you’re here, wonderful locals, stunning scenery, and a place to totally unwind, this is your place in Cape Breton to be.


Wonderful place to stay!!

Very quiet place, rustic, clean and spacious log cabin. All amenities are present. Very good bed and slept like a log. Localisation is 30 minutes from Cheticamp, closest largest village with lots of excellent restaurant. You are also 35-40 minutes to great hiking trails Skyline and the Acadian one. Angela the owner is very nice and tends to all our needs. Very friendly and respectful of our privacy. Would go back anytime.

Perfect setting, confortable and cosy.

Spent 2 nights at Cajun Cedar lodge, located on Margaree River in Cape Breton. Beautiful log cottage, very clean. Bed was very comfortable, great view (as you can see from added picture, taken from the porch) best night sleep i had in a long time. Great location, close to best salmon/trout pools, right on the Cabot trail.

Fishing getaway

I arrived late in the Friday night. This is my first trip to Cape Breton. It was a trip for the Cabot Trail Relay Run 2022.  

Everything was taken care for my check-in. Angela is so considerate and thoughtful. She helped me solve the logistic issues of my trip upon my arrival. It just took a few minutes!!!  Thanks again for your first-minute help. 

You will find the cottage bring you more than what you expect. The special log cottage. The clean rooms. And the nice view when you wake up in the morning. You will hear the birds singing songs while you have your morning coffee. If you like to taste the moments away from city life, this is the very correct choice. 

It is all about people. Yes. You will love here not only because it is located at the famous Margaree River.

The cabin was perfect. It was a cosy and comfy cabin with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofa and good sized dining table. The bedroom  was well designed  with great storage space. The bed was very comfortable. I had great sleeps. It is quiet and peaceful. The view from the porch was amazing. 
Angela was very welcoming and kind. She has thought of everything.  And it was spotlessly clean. I appreciated the covid protocols. 
I will definitely be back (again and again) and will stay longer next time.
