This hotel is terrible don’t stay here. 
The hotel manager/ front desk is rude he I called him a week later after my crew stayed here.  He was supposed to email it to me when the guys checked out. 
He swore at me on the phone and refused to send the visa receipt. 
The guys that stayed said the rooms were disgustingly filthy. 

Dump, rude don’t stay.

I had booked 2 rooms  online from July 6 until July 14 under the name of the Foreman in charge of the crew. After doing the reservation online, I called the hotel to confirm the reservation was done. In that moment, the front desk agent assure me that the reservation was confirmed.

Once our employees arrived later on yesterday (about 10 pm), after a long day working, the front desk agent looked impair and wouldn’t find his name. Not only that, but he just dismiss him saying that “he didn’t like him, and you were fully booked so leave the hotel”. By that time, our employees had to go and find a last minute accommodation.

This is widely unprofessional and unacceptable. As the person in charge of the branch bookings I’ll make sure I’ll never book in this hotel again, due to your bookings are not reliable and you have showed a poor customer service.

Reservation made for a company was ignore and guest dismissed

This hotel is a disgrace, it is filthy, the outside appearance is run down, weeds growing next to the building, the building needs maintenance, a big eyesore.  The interior is old, smelly, and DIRTY.  The room smelled but didn't open the window because the screen was ripped, the window itself was dirty.  The carpet is old indoor/outdoor type, this is worn and dirty.  The phone didn't work so couldn't get a wake up call, used our phone alarm.  Went to use the plug in next to the bed, it is a power bar sitting on months of dirt and grime.  The couch is old, worn out,  and smelly.   Don't need a password for Wifi, he said to pick the strongest signal. I would give it a negative rating if that was possible.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Horrible Accommodation

Super bare bones accommodation for a reasonable price. Checked in by friendly staff, had a beer on the patio and found my room. This place has definitely been around for a while! Anyway the fridge, microwave, shower, and AC all worked, bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. I'll stay here any time I'm traveling alone.

Friendly Staff

I’m used to staying in small town hotel so I know to lower my expectations but how low do you go? We stayed here for two nights because everywhere else in town was booked. At least there’s a pool right? 
We checked in, and proceed down a dimly lit hallway and stained carpet to our room. Our TINY room which I am sure has the original shag carpet, gross fixtures, and decor from when the hotel was build. (Although the beds seemed newer, one being a queen and one a double?) We cranked the A/C was unit but our room was insanely hot the entire time we were there. OK, let’s hit the pool to at least cool off. The pool with its buckled liner, broken tiles and the hot tub with no jets and covered in water scale. 
Time to get ready for the wedding. The crazy hot room we couldn’t cool down so make-up was literally running down my face. Don’t bother trying to blow dry my hair because turning the blow dryer on flipped the breaker in our room. I kid you not, we turned everything else off, including the A/C and the motel’s tiny blow dryer still flipped the breaker. At least they showed me the breaker panel so I didn’t have to run all the way to the front each time.
And the final annoyance of this room. You know those things at the top of heavy doors that slow it’s close? Our was broken so every time someone went in or out. BANG!!! 
The final insult, the Bluebird has the audacity to charge $110 a night for this. Are you kidding me? The owners and management should be ashamed as you are clearly banking on limited options in town rather than the property they actually own. We left after our two night and moved to the hotel next door. Large rooms, new and modern, hot breakfast. $129 a night with CAA.

Bad by all Standards

I stayed for a couple hours the hotel specified non smoking well the room smelled like an old BAR!  

The pillows looked like they had better days and the comforter looked a few years old...The room reminded me of the crew accommodations up north at the mining camps.(those were only furnished with a bed) Not fancy by any means this place doesn’t meet my standards. 

Smoke free? I beg to differ

The only good thing was that the crawlspace of a room appeared to be clean. The photo of this hotel on the internet should be taken down because it looks like just some old building and the photo must have been from the day it was built. The offer of a free drink at check-in was strange as well. This is not a resort in the tropics. I have booked a lot of hotel stays on the internet, but this time was weird. Every site I checked, Expedia, Hotels.com, etc., all claimed that the nice hotel in Melfort was booked solid, so of course a person would think they have no choice, but to book the Bluebird. WRONG! The Canalta Hotel had quite a few rooms, so I got my wife out of the Bluebird and moved her over to the Canalta. Ever hear of Bate's Motel?

Creepy

We stayed here cause we have a small child and it has a pool plus it’s pet friendly.  Online they said is was $10 for a pet and they charged us $15. So l pulled up the online site and they refunded us $5.00. The first room they gave us was still dirty ( we rolled in at 7pm) then the 2nd was dated and had a funny smell but it’s an old hotel so it was fine. We went to the pool and the pictures are so deceiving.  The pool liner is coming up, the tiles around the pool are chipped and broken.  There are parts of it that are rusting as well.  The hot tub was the same way.  We didn’t stay long and took a long cleansing shower after. The wifi never worked either so free wifi is not true. 
The beds aren’t bad, woke up with a sore back but that’s to be expected for this type of hotel.  At least it wasn’t lumpy and dipped in the middle. 
It was pretty quite at night but maybe that’s cause we stayed on a Sunday not weekend.  
I would stay at the Canalta next time I roll through, it’s pet friendly, has a hot tub and looks nice!  
The staff here are super nice and accommodating.

Wouldn’t stay again

If I could rate it less than 1 star, I would. Absolutely disgusting hotel. Dated. Dirty. We stayed here due to no vacancy anywhere else. Our room was awful. Dirty carpets with other guests sunflowers seeds on it. A spider nest on our curtain. A used tissue stuck to the wall. An old pizza box behind the microwave. The toilet constantly ran and we had to shut the water off at night. Dirty bathroom. Dirty shaggy brown carpet. Phone didn’t work. Wifi didn’t work. When speaking to manager regarding these issues, he replied with “not my fault”.  Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. 110% DISGUSTING!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!

We have a great experience at the Bluebird, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The kids loved the pool area. Beds were new and very comfortable. It’s is very dated but the rooms were clean.
