It's not that this motel truly deserves a poor review but the overall experience wasn't a truly comfortable one for only one reason - the chain smokers on either side of my room.  I stayed for a couple of nights just to be closer to a couple of events I had to attend back to back one weekend in downtown Toronto and didn't want to make the commute home.  I looked for a cheapie room and boy - that's what I got.  Nothing fancy for sure but I wasn't expecting much for $69 a night.  Sheets were clean and there was sufficient towels and soap, even a microwave and small fridge (in excellent working order I might add).  Check in is at the 24 hour gas bar that shares the property with the motel and this proved really convenient when I popped in late at night to get some water and sunflower seeds as a bedtime snack.  Staff there was friendly enough as well.  It's located on a remote stretch of Lakeshore Road and getting to the core wasn't any trouble at all.  The problem was the smokers to either side of my room and the incredibly poor insulation between the walls that forced me to inhale their smoke the entire stay in the room.  I ultimately stank like cigarettes after I left which was absolutely incredible to me.  I never knew cigarette smoke can permeate the walls as they did and I searched high and low for an entrance point but concluded that with the age and size of the rooms, it was probably seeping in and there was nothing that could be done about it.  As an added bonus, I listened to a lady hack all night long and into the morning - clearly a bi-product of all the smoking going on in her room.  Sadly, I won't stay there again and I wouldn't recommend you do either - unless of course you're a smoker and dig that setting and aroma.

Ivy motel has very clean and comfortable rooms. I have enjoyed my stay there. Staff members were very helpful and friendly. This property is owned and operated by nice family. The beautiful town Port Credit and lakeshore is at walking distance. I would recommend this place to everyone for peaceful and safe stay.
