We booked this beautiful bed and breakfast in july 2016 and were impressed by its quality.
The two owners are very helpful and knows alot about the region. The house is victorian style with its beautiful woodwork and original clear glass.
The rooms were spacious and clean.
Good homemade breakfast.

Great stay

I've worked  in the  hospitality  industry for  11  years (at a  B&B no less) but have  never  experienced a Bed  and  Breakfast  from the  other  side. What a feeling! We  were  welcomed  with open arms. We  had  visited the Veranda  3  years  ago  when  my  partner  and I  wound up in Port  Elgin with car  trouble. Thinking  we  might  be there  for a  while,  we  walked across the  road to this  beautiful Victorian  home and  were  welcomed  by this  woman named Linda. We  stayed  for a hour  and were treated  to a  full tour and  hugs when we  left. I vowed that we  would  return sometime. It  took us  three years  but we  finally made it  back. We  spent 2  glorious nights there  and  plan to return  later this  year. We were  made to feel  like  we  returning  family or  old  friends. The  rooms are  gorgeous as is the  rest of the  house. The  property is  so  tranquil. Linda's  dog, Bear  is  so  well mannered  and  even  tempered...a real pussy  cat. Breakfasts  were  fantastic ( I even  revealed  some of  my  secret  recipes to her.) I really  didn't  want to  leave but  can't wait to return. Exceptional  service!! Til  we see you again, Linda!!!

First  time  and  we are  hooked!

From the moment I spotted this elegant home driving down the road, I knew it was a wonderful place.  But I could not imagine what was in store for me and Imagine my utter delight when I knew this was where I would be staying.  Driving up the driveway totally enthralled with its elegance was nothing compared to my reaction upon entering this stately mansion.  The owner Linda greeted me with a very lovely smile and I knew  instantly I was in for a treat of a lifetime.  From the fantastic furnishings and antiques, to the beautiful stained glass windows and the unbelievable original woodwork,was like nothing I had ever seen in my life.  I did not know where to look. There was so much to see.  Upon checking into our bedroom, Prairie Room, the beautiful juzazzi in the bedroom was like something out of a magazine.  I could not believe our good luck as we have been living in hotels for the last two months.  But this was like nothing we had ever experienced before.  After a wonderful night we had a delicious breakfast with the most delicious home made jams.  I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this wonderful, beautiful and one-of-a-kind bed and breakfast.

Fantastic, fantastic and fantastic

Next to immaculate old Victorian home beside the river. Very nicely decorated and very clean. Very friendly hostess and a great hot breakfast in the dining room. Highly recommended! Very nice restaurant just down the road.

Cozy, clean and comfortable

Our 1 night stay here was a real delight. As we were the only guests (it was early in the season), Linda,  the owner, gave us free run of the house which (as the name suggests) is a gloriously elegant Victorian villa. We therefore spent the evening in the lovely, peaceful lounge. There are no TV'S in the house which, for us, added to it's charm. Bear, the dog, was an added bonus. He is just gorgeous  and one of the friendliest dogs you could wish to meet. Linda is lovely and we spent a very pleasant couple of hours chatting to her before we left for the airport. The room was spotless and the breakfast delicious.  Port Elgin, it has to be said, is not the most exciting place but it has a peculiar charm and it's quite nice to see a non tourist town - nothing here seems to be set up just for visitors. All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay and excellent value for money.
