Sheets didn't fit the bed  - couldn't be tucked around the mattress, no gfi on the outlet by the sink - microwave plugged into it had an exposed cord (where it meets the plug), baseboard heating was nonprogrammable, remote had no battery cover and at least one of the batteries was leaking - volume went up to 50 then down to 0 on its own and had to push the button on the TV to make it tun off.

Rotten - after one night, I canceled the remainder of my stay there.

If the rooms are renovated, which the hotel says they are, they need a professional to do the sizing, fitting and layout.  Very poor and dirty appliances, noisy, no staff on site (keyless entry so a code is sent to you) ... not a place to which I would return. Prices are very reasonable but I did not reel secure.

Would Not Return

My Wife and I stayed in the economy room and found it exactly what we needed very clean and cute & cozy. Even though it was -15 out it was still nice and warm plus the Lil heater is there if needed. The only small drawback is the hot water in the shower was lacking. But other than that we will definitely be staying there again when we are in the area and need a place to stay.

Family

We stayed at the Wheels Inn in New Liskard. The room was very small, but clean. There is only a shower stall, but that wasn't that bad either. The issue was the bed. It wasn't very comfortable. It had a hole in the middle of the bed it felt. My husband and I kept rolling into each other. We like to cuddle, so not that bad, but it didn't allow for a very good night sleep.

Driving across Ontario

I read many reviews prior to booking at Wheel Inn and wasn't sure what I was getting myself into.  Boy, was I surprised! This place has a lot of charm, but amenities galore! Right down to the abundance of choice for the Keurig.  I had a comfortable night's sleep, the atmosphere was enjoyable and it was quiet.  There were lots of clean towels and the room itself was very clean.  There are messages in the Room from both the Owner and person who cleaned the Room providing their name to hold them accountable for the quality.  I would definitely stay here again, loved it!

Exceeded my Expectations

We were looking for something that was affordable and the Wheel In Motel fit that bill!  The room was clean and had everything we might need for a comfortable stay, including a comfy bed and everything was very clean and fresh.  There was a coffee maker and microwave and other amenities.  There was lots of soap, shampoo and towels and wash cloths and a big screen TV and best of all....good WIFI!!!  We will come again to this motel.  We arrived late and got good directions to our room when we phoned.  We did have all the codes and directions emailed to us, but there had been a room change, and once we got that cleared, we were in our room!!

"Affordable and Comfortable!"

The room was very clean and the bed sheets and towels smelled very nice. It was warm and cosy. Unlimited hot water with strong pressure. The checking process was quick and easy. You get the code for the door in your email or on the phone at the small reception room. No human interaction involved. Very 2020 haha. 

Very clean, very warm, great value.

I found the Wheel Inn Motel was a great deal. It was in a very good location - close to shops and the market. While the motel was old, it was clean and comfortable. The shower was great and the bed comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Pleasantly Surprised!

Stayed here only because my daughter was staying here. The staff (we never saw) seemed nice over the phone. The room was very poorly maintained. It was clean but the flooring was in rough shape with bits of the tile broken off. The bathtub grouting was gross. The toilet area was so tight one could hardly move.
On the plus side, there was a kitchenette which had running water, a microwave, hotplate and coffee maker along with a good bar fridge.
Access to my second floor room was via a staircase (outside) which was also poorly maintained and somewhat scary to use as it did not feel safe.
All in all, even at just $89 per night, I did not feel like I received good value.

Should have stayed at the Holiday Inn

We stayed at the Wheel Inn for 3 nights this past weekend and used it as a base to do day trips in Northern Ontario (Matachewan, Timmins, Cochrane). It was perfect for what we needed, no-frills yet clean & comfortable. Our room was cleaned daily and items re-stocked. We appreciated the good shower, fridge, and Keurig coffee maker. Check in was easy-peasy. If I am back to New Liskeard in the future, I will stay here again.
