When we arrived at Villa Alexandrea Bed & Breakfast, we found that it was not within walking distance to the Falls as advertised.  My husband wasn't able to do the long walk.  The gentleman who checked us in could not speak English.  He was nice and accommodating however we could not communicate with him.  We reserved 2 nights but told him we would only be staying one night.  He indicated that would be fine and that we would not be charged for the additional night.  I then put it in writing as I felt he didn't understand.  At Breakfast we met a couple from China and I asked them to please speak to the owner in their native language to once again explain.  We were once again reassured from the owner we would not be charged for the 2nd night.  When I complained to booking.com that we did not get our refund for the 2nd night, the hotel responded that they knew nothing about our cancelling.   The room was clean but very small & no central AC.  The landscaping is awful.  Breakfast was very good.  If you cannot speak Mandarin you may encounter problems.

Bed & Breakfast was Disappointing

The villa needed a little tlc to make the outside more pleasing to the eye but the inside was clean, tidy and comfortable.

A little confusion on the booking in but rooms were lovely and pleasant.  

Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful.

Old colonial bed and breakfast

Villa Alexandrea is located about a 20-minute walk from the waterfall. The B&B is run by Ted, the owner, a kind, generous and caring person. The place is quiet, the rooms and bathrooms are clean. The breakfast schedule agrees with Ted. We found each other well and recommend this accommodation.

We booked this bed and breakfast for New Year’s Eve and were looking for a quiet place away from Clifton Hill but close enough to the Falls and other attractions.  This bed and breakfast fit the bill.  Our host, Ted, was very accommodating and friendly and went out of his way to drive us to the Falls on a rainy New Year’s Eve.  We got a nice bottle of wine and a healthy breakfast.  Our room was small but comfortable.  There is free parking and free WiFi. The decor is a bit dated but the house is clean.  A great alternative to a hotel.

Conveniently located with a great view of the river

The building is not a Victorian mansion, but appears to have been built in the 1980s.  The decor is not even vaguely romantic, but it is one of the cleanest B&Bs I have ever stayed in.  The room was adequate.   The pillows had seen better days and there was no bathmat in the bathroom.  Breakfast was a wonderful surprise. The hotel advertises a continental breakfast, but we were served a hot breakfast of eggs, toast and sausage. Fruit, yogurt and cereal were also available.   It is located a short mile from the city center and it is an easy and safe walk.

Clean and Convenient

Upon reserving, the guy called us and told us he can't accommodate us and wants to sent us over to another hotel as it was under renovation( no note of such on the reservation page). The other hotel is cheaper by $40 so we asked for the difference.  He kept going on about how the other hotel is more expensive and we get to stay there for the price we paid to his hotel. It was not a pleasant feeling to get scammed. We are not stupid. We saw the ad for the other hotel before booking this one. Now my only problem is we asked for a refund as it was their fault, I don't see a refund on my card. I dont understand how these people can run their businesses like this?

Avoid!! Bad customer service and lies.

We booked this B&B only to have the owner call us and tell us that they are under renovations (THEN WHY ALLOW BOOKINGS???) and they will transfer us to another hotel that they own...They are scammers! The other hotel is cheaper and they make you pay the same premium price. Not recommended. This caused a hassle with our booking and getting a refund was such a hassle. Avoid this place as the management are scamming guests!

Beware this Place!

They make you feel at home, a simple but very picturesque little house, the girl who received us, very but very kind, if she gives time for everything, prepares some very rich breakfasts, if she rests very well in this place, the bedroom is spacious, she has everything necessary (I would recommend a good carpet cleaning), but in general you rest very well, my wife and I were delighted, the girl who received us had the detail to leave us our lunch box the day we leave because we leave very early, the truth is a fabulous place, it's the first time we stayed in a B&B and creanme that we would repeat without a problem, the coffee is excellent and the truth, our gratitude, we feel... simply at home.

Excellent location in Niagara.

Maria welcomes us into a very nice house. Breakfast is very good, we had sweet (toast with bananas and strawberries) and salt (sauces, omelette, bacon). Maria is very kind, and she speaks French. The place is a 15-minute walk from Clifton Hill. I recommend this place!

That's good.

We booked the room for a tour we're doing in Europe. The location is not very well known but it's on the main road that connects Niagara Falls (about 5 minutes) to Niagara on the lake (about 35 minutes). The house is very clean and the rooms are very comfortable.
