The unit was advertised as King Deluxe.  The bedroom was  very small with no windows and a double bed, not king.  The living area was spacious, but badly lit (only two ceiling lamps in one corner; one burned out).  Not possible to read or work in living area after dark.   Unit accessed by long path through back yard but path not lit after dark -- dangerous; concrete step to access porch not well fastened and no railing--very dangerous.  Steps to unit and bedroom ceiling both peeling and needing paint.  Furniture in living area dated and uncomfortable --pink sofa bed should have been thrown away years ago.   

There was no breakfast (as advertised).  But overall price for this unit with no breakfast was $300 per night.  Very bad value.  I have stayed at many places in NOTL and have found much better places with better location and great breakfasts at much lower prices.

This place should be avoided.

Would not return and cannot recommend

This place was the perfect fit for a long weekend away with family. The property was beautiful and the space we rented was perfect. Rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, everything was clean and the owner was very welcoming. Would love to come back for another stay! 

Long weekend with family 

We stayed at this beautiful property in early October for our anniversary, and our room was incredible! It was so private we felt like we were at home! The facilities in the suite were so beautiful, it was like a luxury apartment! Our hosts were so unbelievably kind, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area! We vow to return to this beautiful property and hope that others will consider staying at this lovely place!

Anniversary

We had high expectation but were let down. All of the internet information regarding this property is outdated. This is no longer a B&B, and some of the amenities are no longer available. The pool is out of commission. It was a very hot summer weekend and is advertised they have AC and fan. You have no control of the climate conditions in the suite and the sitting room fan did not work. Only 2 windows had screens and unfortunately they were no where near the windowless bedroom. On the surface the place looks good but beware.

Change in ownership

I had never stayed in a B&B before so I had some reservations about staying at Simcoe Manor.  However, after having spent a weekend there with friends, Simcoe Manor laid all my reservations to rest.

John and Alison are wonderful hosts.  Although they were supposed to be closed, they graciously opened Simcoe Manor for us, and we felt like we were staying with friends.  Prior to arriving, John contacted us and went out of his way to see if we wanted him to book any tours or needed help with anything else we were thinking of doing.  

We were greeted warmly by John on arrival.  He showed us around and explained everything in detail.  When we mentioned we wanted to do some wine tours that afternoon, he immediately gave us some complimentary tasting vouchers and made recommendations as to what wineries he felt were worth visiting.  John's pride in both the Manor and Niagara on the Lake is very evident in his animated descriptions and the enthusiasm in his voice . . . and he bears an uncanny resemblance to Ernest Hemingway!

Simcoe Manor is located very close to the downtown core and is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants.  Very convenient when spending an evening out, and you have the option to walk home without any issues or concerns.  

The property is absolutely gorgeous, and our only regret is that the weather was not conducive to spending anytime on the beautiful wrap-around porch.  There is also a pool on the property which would be fantastic in the summer.  You can imagine spending a hot day in town or at a play, and coming back to Simcoe Manor for a wonderful dip in the pool.  

All the rooms are immaculate and thoughtfully furnished.  We stayed in the Mauve Room which was very spacious, had a fireplace, ample seating, a very comfortable bed and a private bathroom complete with a massage tub.  Everything you would want or need is provided . . . in particular, it was nice to have real wine glasses rather than plastic cups when enjoying a glass of wine.

The breakfasts made by John and Alison were ample, delicious, and home-made with fresh ingredients.  The presentation was excellent.  Both days we were delighted to be joined by John as he regaled us with many interesting tales of his life, and facts and stories about Niagara on the Lake.  

If you are looking for a wonderful experience at a B&B in Niagara on the Lake, you should definitely give Simcoe Manor a try.

Wonderful hosts, beautiful rooms, great location and more

The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious and decadent and the proprietors are warm and so helpful. I felt like I was at home (away from home). After a day of strolling or enjoying theater I was so happy to return to my beautiful room to relax. I will definitely be returning to Simcoe Manor.

Delightful & Friendly! My favorite part of my visit to Noagara-On--The-Lake

My husband and I have been staying at Simcoe Manor for over ten Labor Day weekends, sometimes with another couple, sometimes alone. We look forward to spending time in this gracious accommodation. The rooms are lovely and immaculate. The breakfasts are fabulous and we enjoy lively conversations with other guests (some also returning many times like us). We are very fond of our host, John Gartner. He is very knowledgeable  about the entire Niagara region and has recommended activities, restaurants, vineyards to visit and has also secured reservations for us. He has also recommended plays at the Shaw Festival. The Shaw was our original reason to come to N.O.T.L.  This year I brought my daughter with me. She had  a marvelous time and now understands why we so look forwards to our annual weekend at Simcoe Manor.
