My wife and I recently stayed here for the ice wine fest and have to say it was close to the action. It’s basically around the corner from the main drag of Niagara on the lake. On top of free parking Luisas is a very nice place to stay it’s so private and there are only 3 rooms to this establishment which meant no one to bother you. It’s very private which we liked. The owners Tony and Maria really pay attention to every detail you may need to make your stay as comfortable as they can. If there are any issues they are just one quick call away and are happy to meet you upon arrival. Would definitely stay again and recommend to all our friends.

Close to everything

Located right in the middle of the historic district, Luisa's is a short walk from restaurants, theaters, and a scenic pathway along the lake and down the river.  Although it is on King Street, it is located above the business fronting on the street, and the entrance is a clearly-marked door at the back.  There is ample free parking behind the building, off Johnson street. Keypads give access to both the exterior door and your suite door; the owners will send the number to you beforehand (I believe another reviewer on this site gave a clue as to what that number would be --s/he was correct).   There was a long flight of stairs to get up to the rooms, so I had to carry everything up.  I had the Biscotti Suite, the smallest of the three.  I was traveling solo, and the room was a good size for me, with a nice bed and one armchair.  No balcony access, but that was not a problem.  There is a bar sink, microwave, toaster, and basic flatware and plates/dishes.  The one thing I didn't find and needed was a corkscrew!  Bring your own if you are touring wineries.  There were two breakfast restaurants nearby, so the "bed" without "breakfast" was not a logistical problem.  Finally, the owners were great and responsive.  I had no problems, but they were easy to contact, and gave me a heads up about some construction work planned for the next morning.

Great Place to Stay in the Middle of Everything

Luisas Suite Retreat is a great place to stay if you plan on visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake. Great location! Within walking distance to Downtown and the Shaw. Nice quaint room. We stayed in the room with the balcony overlooking King St. Definitely will stay again the next time we are at the wine festival.

It is hard to find.  There is a little sign at the top right of the front of the building.  However you must go around the corner on Johnson Street  to the candy cane colored barrier and park in one of the two dedicated spots.  There were 3 rooms so not sure how the parking works but no problem for our stay. The barrier opens as you drive up but you need a code to get out.

At the rear of the building there is a sign at a door with a combination lock.  The code on our paperwork didn't work.  It should be the last 4 digits of the phone number you gave when reserving.  How do I know all of this?  Mostly from the kind people in the Bosley Real Estate Office on the bottom floor and not from my paperwork from the lodging office wherever it is.

The real estate folks called Tony and got the correct code for the outside door.  It also worked for our room.  I found our room by trying the code in all of the doors until it worked.  By the way the real estate folks have no connection to the lodging but I could tell they had a lot of experience helping folks with similar problems.

Tony arrived on the scene in time to help me with our largest bag up the ~ 20 steps.  He was quite personable and explained all of the particulars of the room.  It was well equipped with a small fridge, tea and coffee maker, microwave, window air conditioner, TV and safe.  We had the Biscotti Suite. It had room for a comfy chair and small desk and chair but I would not call it a suite.  It was a little bigger than a cruise ship suite and laid out about the same.  There was a nice balcony outside our window but we did not have access to it.  It must be an amenity for the Tortierre Suite next door.

Best thing going for it was the location just a block off of the intersection of Queen and King streets.  Room was very well equipped but a little cramped.  Bed was soft at the sides.  Sleep too close to the side and feel that you may slide off.  The shower was large enough but the shower head was fixed at an angle that hit my head and chest but not lower.  In addition there was no shelf or hanger to put your wash cloth, soap and shampoo.  

Having said all of that our 2 night stay was kind of fun in a quirky way
but I would look for a larger place with on-site staff in the future.

Location, Location Location

We were met by Tony who graciously offered to help with bags up to room. We were given tour and saw 2 other rm in case interested for another visit ( which we will be doing for sure) with friends and family. We had the truffle suite mini apartment. It had everything we needed including space to lounge and relax. In summer this rm options has an amazing south facing patio with grill and seating for up to six.  Maria had Perrier and biscotti as welcome gifts and Tony showed all appliances, utensils and cooking amenities included for stay.  Terry cloth robes were nice touch along with toiletries and coffee and tea welcome packs. Touch codes entry for both apartment and parking so no keys required.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION -- fabulous as around corner literally form main street in village. Walking distance to everything. Easy access from gated parking lot and easy to locate on driving map. Shuttle to all wineries departs from parking lot adjacent to location. Great to park car and enjoy Niagara on the lake transit too. Many thx for great stay and we loved the "werthers" too.  Check out other rm types for stay that will suit what best accommodates your vacation.

Perfect Suite for a prefect weekend retreat!!

Gorgeous room at Luisa's. Maybe a bit snug in the bathroom in the room we're in but there's great space and light efficiency going on. Beautiful decor, comfortable bed. Lovely place to stay. Not much to do in Niagara on the Lake -maybe a day or so, so if you stay here visit the falls etc etc. Cute town though!

Luisa's has been our home for 2 short days and yet it will be a good memory to last long!  The hosts are fantastic with the preparation and arrival.  They wanted to welcome us even at midnight!  

Our suite is the biggest.  If you're not too many in your party, choose a smaller suite because they have verandahs that face King Street.  But otherwise we enjoyed ours, safe for kids!

But our suite is very spacious, clean and complete with amenities like almost we're home.  It's actually good they don't have CNN made it a real retreat.

Location is central, a few steps to center of town (to the clock), and parking is no worries, Decently lighted.
