Amazing small hotel, we visited in March which is low season. 
It’s a lovely area, quiet with a few shops. 
The hotel is very quaint and quirky, excellent welcome from Jess our host who made us very welcome. 
Excellent breakfast included. 
Would highly recommend staying here, right on Lake Ontario. 
Very comfortable room, warm and cosy.

Beautiful hotel.

This is a beautiful, cosy B&b that I would definitely recommend. The room was immaculate and clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent! The staff were friendly and welcoming at all times and offered suggestions for things to do in the town. I would absolutely return and really hope to do so!

Wonderful stay

Positive:
Great location, you can see lake Ontario from the front porch – it’s maybe a 2min walk to the water, and that’s if you’re dragging your feet!! Location is super close to QUEEN Street – where all of the shops and eateries are. Very close and very walkable. Beautiful park is also across the street for great photos.

Residence: it’s old, quaint, but very inviting.  A lot of historical perspective inside the house.  Room was well-appointed with ensuite bathroom/shower/tub. Had a walkout to balcony shared with 2 other rooms. Breakfast was decent, freshly made – you order the night before. There’s always coffee/tea/water available. There are 4 options to choose from for breakfast, and they put out breads for toasting, and put out homemade muffins which were super yum.

Our host, LACE, would be the reason we remember this trip. She was outstanding!! Super helpful and just super friendly. Anything we needed; she was right there. Gave options, suggestions on things to do, places to see, eat, etc. Such a great personality.

Any drawbacks: would be the tight parking in the back of the house. You can opt to park on the street or parking lot across the street, and you’ll get reimbursed by the property. Remember this is a house, so you’ll hear feet on the wooden floors, staircase, etc. All wooden floors throughout. Some of these floors are slightly slanted – so watch for those. Also, there’s no individual climate control in room. You’re kinda stuck with what the general house temp is. Power outlets are not available right next to bed on both sides – just on one side.

If you like historic B&B's this is for you NOTL

Just completed a repeat 4-night stay.  Leslie and her team were as welcoming as family.  The house is charming, but the staff "seal the deal".  We asked about the few negative reviews and learned they are booked through unrelated sites- go directly to book with confidence.  NOTL is a wonderful town, and there is no better location to visit it than the Old Bank House.

Home away from home

Great location, wonderful view of the lake and park from the garden and veranda, food was excellent and the staff were very welcoming.  Room was spacious and very clean. Decor is older, but comfortable.  Just beautiful.

Awesome stay

We had booked the hotel using Google and had the confirmation from the hotel. However , the hotel is closed due to COVID and has been for a few months. 

When we got there the owner basically shrugged and said it’s not his fault and is unable to figure out how to update the status on google and booking.com — that’s it!! 

Basically ruined our plans for long weekend!! The (not so) funny thing is that the owner did nothing about the issue and you can still book the hotel on google!!!

Hotel did not honor our reservation !!

Travelled 1.5 hours with a booking from a web site and they were closed for covid.  The Manager did not call us or return calls.  We arrived  with no room.  The owners or managers did not close down any pre booking web sites.    Was totally unacceptable.  They did call us after we had found some where else to stay last minute with a reduced rate for the night and a 20% reduction for another stay.  I was insulted.  Should be free stay to compensate us for their short falls.   Based on our experience stay away from here at all cost. cheers all.

Left Stranded

We stayed here for a night, visiting from London, England via Toronto.  Lovely location, and beautiful building.  We stayed in the Cedar Room, which had all we needed.  The staff were friendly, as were the other guests, and we enjoyed our time here.

Great location

My husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, the management told us they would like to give us a bottle of wine since it's our anniversary. We never saw it, until just before leaving mentioned to a young waitress at breakfast, she got us some wine to drink once home.

 My husband also has severe heart trouble, due for surgery has what's called the widow maker and just recently had a knee replacement so climbing the stairs daily and for him to go up during the day to rest was very hard on him. There are no lower rooms everything has to go up old wooden stairs including your luggage. It can be quite noisy if you're trying rest and there are late arrivals. To go up and down the stairs daily several times a day was hard on him so we wanted to leave a day early and just head on home so he could rest. We were not able to get our full refund back for the last night which we did not stay. 

Breakfast can sometimes be inconvenient as it is not served until 9:00 AM unless you want a piece of fruit and then you can go down for some yogurt and fruit at 8:30.

 Usually a dessert is served before breakfast, doesn't seem to make sense because when you leave you have the taste of eggs and vegetables in your mouth.

 Our room overlooked both parking lot and front street so you can hear voices and conversations going on all the time. The parking lot is full, if all the rooms are taken. Which means, if you are late getting back in at certain times you'll find yourself paying for parking on the street. No free parking on the street. Plus, parking is prime behind the house and it's very hard to get in and out.

 Our room had seven windows in it and none of the curtains or drapes matched. Some of them look like specials from a going out of business sale as it was very thin and seem to just come out of a package. 

There were bleach stains in the carpet, the mattresses were old so if you turned over during the night your mate would also be woken up. 

The TVs are quite small and hard to see. The bathtub had very, very high edges so it was difficult to raise your legs to get in to take a shower. The bathroom sink did not work and was constantly backed up if you try to brush your teeth or wash your face. 

There was no light bulb in the light on the dresser so  we had to use overhead lights which can be glaring. 

If trying to rest with a hallway upstairs being would, you would hear people coming and going and sometimes you can hear people in the next room. 

Granted, the location is beautiful but that's about the extent of it. So many other places around with nicer rooms, less expensive, and if needed, a first-floor room or elevator you're better off going elsewhere.

I was talking to another lady at breakfast one morning, she said she would never be back either. She had both of her knees replaced and found it quite difficult since there is no first-floor rooms or elevators. She dreaded the next day when they would be leaving and have to carry their luggage down.

Sorely Disappointed

We had a lovely stay here. The house is one of the old houses in Niagara on the Lake and has a great view over the park to Lake Ontario. The location is very good being only a couple of blocks to the centre but is lovely and quiet. The house was clean, warm and cosy and our room shared a balcony with some of the other guests. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the gourmet breakfast was well presented, tasty and filling although slightly unusual for an English palate. I would happily have stayed here much longer .
