This place is quite nice.  It's perhaps a bit rough around the edges but it's very quiet there and has a real charm to it.  The main house is quite amazing and the property is going to look great once they get the vineyard and whatnot all in place.  We had a very warm welcome and someone was available through text message whenever we needed anything, with very fast response.

Nice quiet place close to the ferry and airport

The room was very clean and comfortable.  It was warm in May when we were there and only one of the old windows would open.  It had a screen on it that would not shut tightly so we couldn't leave it open at night as we thought a small rodent might enter.   The owner Joe was very nice and the wifi worked well.

We wondered where we were when we arrived.  The dirt road in was not in good shape - lots of pot holes,  but we could see a tractor there that was probably part of the reason for that.  

Upon entering the home both days we were there, there was a huge smell of what Joe called pinesol and he apologized for it.  I don't know that smell but it was overwhelming downstairs.  Was it being used to cover up a musty smell - I don't know.  Fortunately, the smell was not in our room.

We saw that the muffins were put out on the table at night, as when I went down in the evening they were there, uncovered, store bought.  We were told by Joe there were pastries as well but we never saw them.  So there were cheerios and some flaked cereal, individual yogurts, tea and coffee.  The mini fridge in the dining room was filthy - no other word for it, as was the counter where the coffee was.  This was not a previous person as the mess was there for two days - lack of cleaning is the only reason.  There were large cobwebs in the corner of the room as well.  A water jug was there.  We wanted to fill our carry out mugs but it was low - not enough for a cup full.  We took the blue jug off to show it was empty but it was not replaced during our stay.

This is really a no frills place.  It might be fine for some, but I wouldn't stay again.  For $125 and $15 for cleaning, we felt it was pricey for what we got.

We also had a little trouble with getting in touch after the fact.  I was told by Joe that he would e-mail the bill but I did not receive it for about four days after.

Note - there is no TV.

I wouldn't stay again.

Stay away.
We reserved a stay at this place because it was dog friendly. I let them know well ahead of time that we would likely be arriving late after a long drive and a ferry trip. I called to confirm my reservation only to be informed that it would not be conducive to have a late arrival with dogs, so too bad so sad. Imagine if we'd arrived, expecting to have a room and been turned away! Really poor performance.

Abysmal communication and atrocious attitude

This property is wonderful and the rooms are great.  Joe is really nice.  But a few minor issues that didn't bother me too much but may not work for other people.  You can't phone the B&B email only and that is not quick.  Whatever CC you book with is how you will pay as nobody is around typically in the office.  It's kind of a self serve affair.  As well no toiletries other than soap so don't forget your shampoo.

Was also charged a different amount than was stated I believe tax was charged but it was supposed to be included.

All this being said, I still recommend it.  You could litertally walk from the ferry.  The property is full of birds if you are a birder it is amazing.  

Again, Joe is very nice and this may not be the normal experience but worth mentioning I thought.

Lovely quiet property and the price is really great too.

Seems it's in a bit of a state of flux currently.

I did fall in love with Lulu the Rottweiller as well...lovely sweet dog.

Nothing here is a complaint, just an honest review.

lovely location but a few snags

We were there over Fall break.  The Innkeepers (Lulu included) were so friendly and very nice. Joe was very helpful in recommending fun things to do and periodically checked in to make sure all was okay. The rooms were excellent and very clean, the grounds lovely, and we had continental breakfasts. There was also a room cancellation so he offered to give my grandson a room. The owner also owns a restaurant, Stonehouse Pub, and since it was my grandson’s 16th birthday trip, Joe treated him to pizza there. The food and service were amazing and is definitely a must try. Overall, we enjoyed the B&B and the restaurant. We also got to see deers on the property! Highly recommend staying here!
