Extremly rude owner very snappy and ignorant. Avoid at all costs. Fire alarms randomly go off, heat sometimes work, wifi shuts off constantly and the owner says “not my problem” when called to see what the issue is

Rude Ignorant Owner

I have stayed in many hotels/motels due to hockey and such and will NEVER stay at Keppoch Inns or Homeward Inn in Antigonish NS ever!!  We stayed there in early March 2020....a week later I noticed that I was charged twice on my visa... when I contacted the owner he was quite ignorant and rude.. threatened me with calling police which was fine with me... he was the one in the wrong not me by double charging me....he was extremely difficult to deal with and in so many words accused me of lying...wanted me to send receipts which I told me I didn’t have because I didnt stay 2 nights only 1... I sent him a picture of the double charge on my visa but was still not willing to give refund... so I told him that I would be in contact with the RCMP and only then did he agree to send me a refund very reluctantly.  The Keppoch Inn is nothing special either...our room was supposed to be newly renovated but we couldn’t see anything that was renovated!!!  Stay clear of any motels owned by this gentleman!!!

DO NOT STAY  WORSE THAN TERRIBLE

My husband and I were in to check in at 8:30. No one came to the office but a tv was blaring in the next room and I Shouted out a polite hello several times. When the man came in he rolled his eyes and said you booked for 90 I said no it was 79.95. He said for two beds I said yes that’s what you quoted me last night. He rudely said go see the room.  We did. It was old but clean so my husband and I said sure it’s for  11 hours.  We went back in and he asked for my information and snapped at me through the whole process. Also he asked if it was only for one night, we said yes and he answered Thank god.  He then asked how would you like to pay rudely twice. I then told him I felt that we were inconveniencing him. He proceeded to tell me that it was my attitude and that I was screaming coming in and that there was a doorbell I should’ve pressed. He kept saying attitude attitude there’s a small child asleep in there and it’s your attitude...as I stood there dumbfounded.  I was absolutely floored. My husband said you’re running a business you can’t treat customers that way. He said he’d been successful for 22 years and he never has any problems . My husband said let’s go he said there’s nothing else here there’s nothing else here. My husband said I’d rather drive the hour home. He said I hope I never see you again and I said thank God!  I’m still shaking my head

Unbelievably rude

Hotel is very convenient located outside Cape Breton Island.
Rooms are clean and very are very comfortable.
Unfortunately, my experience with owner was horrible.
I called a night to let him know that I would like to change my booking for the following night.  I was behind with my trip schedule. Owner said okay, but he told me to call Expedia to change it, since I did the booking via Expedia. Expedia was agreed and they called the hotel when they kept me in the phone. Apparently everything was set up.
When I arrived to hotel next night, owner yield to me.  He said that I did not called Expedia, that I was lying. He also asked me how much charge me Expedia, he said that was not the price that he normally charge.  Fortunately, I have all my bookings printed for proof. 
Then he has an issue with machine to charge my credit card. And off course, He blade me that machine blow up due to my credit card.
I have never treated so bad in my life.
I am so sorry that man had a sad life, but he should not get mad to other people for his issues.
I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Owner extremely angry man !!!

We stopped in Antigonish on our way to Sydney. This place seemed convenient, right off the highway. When I walked into the office, there was nobody there. I said “hello?” and the iwner ran out of another room and started yelling at me that “I was on the phone!” Then he told me to get out, and said I was rude. Then he said he was calling another (randomly picked?) hotel and said he was telling them about me.  What?  I’ve been all over North America, and I’ve never seen anything quite like this guy. Looking at other reviews here, it looks like this is a common there. How can they even stay in business?  Don’t go here. It was a terrible experience.

Rudest owner - unbelievable

We stayed here during the Highland Games weekend.  We met some lovely folks and were sitting outside having a few glasses of wine when the owner came out and told us to shut it down and stop with the curse words (this was around 9:30 - 10:00 - just starting to get dark).   We apologized for the cursing and toned it down a bit. (keep in mind it wasn't vulgar language...we are a bunch of 50+ wine drinkers...not 19 year old kids)  At 11:00ish, the owner came RUNNING at us and yelling that we needed to go to bed NOW.  When we replied we were going to bed...he stood there and said he'd wait...either we went to bed or we were going to get kicked off the property.   We were in shock !!   I would never recommend this place to anyone.  The owner should take some customer service courses at the very least.

Don't stay here if you're looking to enjoy yourself in Antigonish !!

I was going home for a week and tried to book a room but Keppoch Inn wouldn't even reply to a booking request after multiple follow ups, all I ever got from them was an email promising to follow up in 24 hrs.

I wouldn't bother supporting this business, they don't deserve your business.

This is an older motel, so don't expect fancy or new.  We found this place using Google Maps and are glad that we did.  We arrived in the dark and the first impression wasn't great but once we saw the room we were quite pleasantly surprised.  The place is older, but the rooms are functional and exceptionally clean.  The bathroom lacked a hair dryer (which most hotels/motels have) but otherwise it was perfect.  Quiet, but that probably depends on who else is staying there.  We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Good value, exceptionally clean

Room very clean.good price and owner very friendly and helpful.Took us to check room before we checked in.Walking distance to mall and restaurants that are close by.Never had a problem staying here.Thanks for your hospitality.

Botwood

This hotel is still well located. The room was clean. Lunch was not included, which is much less interesting for us. The internet was really slow in the evening. It was an average stay.
