Comfortable and welcoming B&B set in it's own grounds in a quiet rural area a short drive from Halifax and the airport, the house and grounds are very picturesque and the house is tastefully furnished with a comfortable lounge, outside deck and pool. Our room was on the ground floor and was very spacious with a large double bed, comfortable chairs, separate dressing and clothes storage area leading into the shower room where there was plenty of hot water and amenities. The only thing missing was facilities in the room to make tea or coffee however fresh, and very nice, coffee was available in the dining area from 07:45 with an excellent freshly cooked breakfast to follow at 08:30. The host was very friendly and an excellent source of local information. We would defiantly recommend the Snowflake and would stay there again.

Excellent B&B 10 minute drive from airport

The Snowflake Manor is a lovely, comfortable inn close to the airport.  We stayed 2 nights at the front end of our trip.   Patti, the proprietor, was kind and flexible when we found that it made sense to add a night to our reservation.  Breakfast at 8:30 am is luxurious and like being at a resort.  It was lovely to meet the other guests, and the blueberry pancakes were delicious.

Amazing hospitality

This cozy bed and breakfast is relatively close to the airport, has clean and comfortable rooms, peaceful surroundings, excellent breakfast, cordial and pleasant owners (Patti and Mark). In short, outstanding value.

Outstanding

We visited Nova Scotia for our 2nd year anniversary.  We decided to stay here for the end of our trip as it was close to the airport.  We would love to enjoy to the pool but the weather wasn’t in our favor. The breakfast was just amazing. The bedroom and spectacular.  The bed is super comfy and the bathroom is spacious. Definitely recommend anyone visiting Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia Adventure Trip

Our first time visiting the East coast, and this was our first stay at a B&B. Patti, Mark, and Andrew are wonderful hosts with a beautiful home and comfortable rooms. Patti provided delicious home cooked breakfasts (blueberry pancakes were great!) and Mark recommended a couple of restaurants in the area that were quite nice. They also had great advice on some things to see and do while we were here. The breakfast table conversations were enjoyable, including a unique one with a local expert about rocks and stones! Would definitely book again for our next trip! Thanks again!

It set the bar! Clean, comfortable, and friendly

Thoroughly enjoyed this B & B.  Were greeted by Patti and her son Andrew with tea and conversation.  Our room was beautiful with a small sitting room, queen bed and ensuite bathroom.  The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning in the  room was very cooling.  The breakfast was big with pancakes, sausage and fruit .  Another breakfast was eggs, ham and homefries and fruit.  It was nice and quiet in the evening. Mark was very nice to talk to .  They offered use of their pool outside but we didn't have time on this trip. Thanks again.

Most reviews have already expressed our opinions about this B & B. Patty, Mark and Andrew are the epitome (Google it) of the type of owners you wish you could have whenever you visit this type of establishment. They REALLY make you feel like you are welcome in their home from the minute you step thru the front door into their beautiful home and until you are so sorry to have to leave. Both myself and my wife look forward to some day visiting them again! 

Our most outstanding bed & breakfast visit

Wonderful family owned B&B right near Halifax Airport. Best for older travelers. Nice, large rooms. Separate A/C for each en suite. Saltwater pool available, special with Patti’s bubbles!!! Breakfast is home-cooked, hot and filling! Wonderful. Bathrooms are clean, spacious, with single sink and tub/shower (ours anyway no. 2). You need to keep the front door locked, can stay out late, but will be noticed. Wonderful place to stay a night or a week. Enjoy.

Great location & owner

This is a beautiful home, the rooms are large and very clean. The host was very friendly, felt like I had known her for years. She saw we were tired from traveling when we arrived and immediately fixed a pot of coffee. We had a very early flight the next morning and she had a breakfast for each of us waiting at the door. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast and if we are ever in that area I look forward to staying again.

Wonderful B and B

The Snowflake Manor property is on a large lot surrounded by woods, accessed from a paved two-lane trunk road.  Traffic noise was practically non-existent when my wife & I stayed; and even though the home is less than 10 minutes from the Halifax International Airport, we rarely heard any air traffic.  But with all that isolation, guests still have easy access to a major north-south highway (NS-102) and it's not a long drive to a handful of good restaurants & basic shopping options.  There is also a very nice provincial park within a 10-minute drive, with picnic areas & lake access.

Approaching from the east along Trunk Road 2, look for the "Oakfield" municipal road sign and the B&B entry drive is around the next curve on the right.  The driveway is marked by a property sign hanging from a post & a lighted snowflake (very handy for approach at night from either direction).  A short drive up a medium incline leads you to a driveway loop with marked Guest Parking spots on the left as you face the house.  The front entry door is just beyond the driveway loop, making it was easy for us to come & go during our 10-night stay.

We stayed in the "Snowflake Three" guest room, one of two on the second floor up the main stairway.  There is a third guest room on the main entry floor.  Our room was spacious & comfortable, with several casual seating options for relaxation.  The ensuite bathroom was also large & well equipped. We had plenty of drawer & closet space to accommodate our extended travel clothing.  Our room & bath were freshened daily, so we always returned from our day trips and nighttime outings to clean & neat surroundings.

The proprietor Patti, her husband Mark and son Andrew were all very friendly and accommodating during our extended stay.  Daily breakfasts were huge & tasty, with a variety of items presented attractively on the full plate and options for breakfast beverages.  We often lingered after breakfast to chat with Patti (and with Mark & Andrew when they weren't working), gaining ideas for tourism & learning some local history from Patti who was born in the area.

We would definitely recommend Snowflake Manor B&B to anyone visiting the Halifax region, for quiet & comfort & a hearty breakfast every day.
