Greedy. That is the word I would use to describe this place. I made a reservation for this place 2 days before the arrival date. I realized that I made an error and meant to reserve it one day later. Upon realizing this, I contacted the hotel to see if we could change it to the next day. The hotel made it seem as if they were trying to change the reservation, but couldn't due to the booking system. I contacted expedia to see if they could help me out. When expedia called the hotel, they promptly told the agent they didnt speak English (despite beginning the conversation in English) and hung up on the agent. I went to the hotel the day we arrived in Tadoussac to see if they would be flexible and allow us to stay. Despite having vacancies for both nights in question, they would not allow us to change the reservation. They took our money without having us stay there. If this reservation had been made far in advance and therefore made this room unavailable for other guests to book for some time, I would understand. However this room was "reserved" for us for 24 hours maximum (and they were notified by me of the error 24 hours ahead of the reservation date), so the excuse that they couldn't rent the room to someone else and not speaking English is bogus. This business chose to refuse us a room, despite having vacancies, and having paid for a room. Very disappointed in such shady business practices. There are many cute places to stay in Tadoussac - DO NOT support this greedy business.

Greedy Business

There’s nothing inherently wrong with this B&B.  It’s clean and the location is good; however, I paid $180 inclusive of taxes for a room and certainly expected more.   First, it’s a Bed and Breakfast—but breakfast isn’t included at $180 per night.  Our room was considerably smaller than what I would receive in a hotel. It’s late September and the nights are shorter and cooler.  I missed not having a tv.   The rooms definitely don’t have a kitchenette—there is a shared kitchenette for four rooms. I paid for a premium river view but the b&b is set back far from the river and there really isn’t much of a view.  
So, my stay was okay, but definitely not at $180 per night

Over-prices

This auberge is in a good location with parking. Host was friendly and was happy to arrange excursions for you if you wanted (we didn’t need this). Room was clean and comfortable. There is a shared kitchenette area which is located directly outside three of the rooms (Cale Seche, Saguenay and not sure of the name of the third one). If someone is using this kitchen area early or late it would be a bit of a disturbance. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

Great location and clean, functional room

And yes, it's written B&B..bed and breakfast, but there's no lunch. Nevertheless, the price for Tadoussac is excellent and the place is perfect. Everything is done on foot and the view is perfect. There are only 3 bedrooms with bathroom in the room. Ask them at the reservation 😎

A B... not a B&B... but very good.

Very nice experience at the La Sainte-Paix hostel!! We took a family trip (5 adults) and booked the Cale-Séche and St-Laurent rooms! Perfectly clean rooms, comfortable beds, peaceful nights, very friendly owner, coffee/tea/tissane at will and all within walking distance! We were even able to observe belugas on our last morning having our coffee on the small terrace of the hostel!

Best choice of quality and price in Tadoussac!

We had a great stay! The hostel is very well located, you can do a lot on foot. The Cale dry room is nice, with a stunning view. Everything is very clean and comfortable bed. Very quiet. There is a way to have a breakfast for $10 per person. Marie-Josée is a charming hostess, who guides and advises us. Really a nice address! Thank you.

It's recommended!

We were lucky to stay in this excellent Auberge. We were in the 1888 room which was very charming with a terrific view of the waterfront. It had its own bathroom (one floor down) with a large jacuzzi tub and shower, which was perfect for a warm soak after a day of whale watching. The hostess was charming and provided lots of helpful local tips. We had the breakfast both mornings and it was delicious. My spouse said it probably his favourite place that we have visited in some time. We hope to be back.

Charming and Welcoming: A Perfect Stay

Our room was quite small and the plumbing made a bit of a gurgling noise when other people ran the water.  However, the location was exceptional - just a short walk to all the places you want to go, bakers, restaurants and most importantly, whale watching.

Marie-Josee made our stay very pleasant and was very helpful storing our ice blocks etc.  When we booked the Auberge she contacted us by e-mail to see if we wanted to book any activities.  We asked her to book whale watching twice and the bear watching too.  This all worked out perfectly.
We were made very welcome and had the use of the dining area overlooking the fiord.  Lovely picture windows gave a stunning view and the book of Canadian Birds was most useful.

We were always welcomed back to the property and asked how our trip or day had gone.  We didn't have the breakfast as I have an egg allergy and it was egg based, but it looked good and smelt amazing!

Brilliant Location, brilliant host

A warm welcome and a lovely family room were available. Ideally located in a quiet place on Tasoussac, this was a real pleasure.

Nice address on Tadoussac.

Arriving by ferry from the Fjord from La Baie, we discover the hostel of la Sainte Paix 5 min walk from the landing site. We take possession of the Chamber 1888, very large, upstairs, with private bathroom on the ground floor. Everything is very clean, room and bathroom huge. Quiet nights. Marie-Josée, our host, is adorable. The breakfast she offers is delicious. We share the table with other residents (Lebanese family on the first morning, young Quebec kayakers on the second), enjoyable and appreciated exchanges. The B&B is 2 steps from the Museum of Marine Mothers, restaurants and Tussacado is a very nice place to stay, thanks to her nostalgic drive to the Sainte-Josée bus station, and we obviously want to stay in the village for a long time.
